OTA Sailing

[Though still recovering from the clash with Hawtrey, Keimi is bright and cheery. She can be found on the deck, leaning over the railing and watching the waves lap against the ship, or near the helm, charting their next course and assisting whoever happens to be steering.

If one is brave enough to venture below deck, you'll find Keimi using several magnifying glasses to examine spool upon spool of this odd grey fabric. She'll stare for a few moments, squinting and humming, before moving to her loom in an attempt to replicate it. Expect excited cheering and frustrated huffs in equal amount.]

[They're all still sailing side by side, right? Hiccup has time to spare between his duties aboard his ship, and having another ship to explore eases the ennui of sailing alone across the seas.

He hobbles about, peering into things he shouldn't at times, but hey that's normal. The sound of the excited huffing makes the viking quirk a brow.]

What the...?

[Catching the sound of the loom, it draws him in closer while he roams the lower decks, peering curiously to see what's up. Blink.]

...Oh. Wow.

Never.

[Keimi continues working at her loom, humming to herself as she goes. It's a complicated design, but she may just be able to replicate the materials. She's so engrossed in her work, she fails to notice her new audience.]

Hm... almost there.

[He pretty much intrudes while he watches her progress, leaning in a bit more as she continues...

...And he overdoes it, losing his balance on his left leg. He yelps, falling over with little grace.]

[Ohgodloudnoises. Keimi throws up her arms and screams.]

Gyah!! We're under attack!!

[He throws his arms over his head. Then he pauses.]

–Wait, no we're not!

Huh? We're not?

[She blinks.]

No, it was just– just me! I fell. Sorry.

[She floats over to him on her giant bubble, leaning down to inspect him.]

Are you okay? You made a lot of noise. I hope you're not hurt.

[summing_it_up]

Yeah! I-I'll be okay.

[He pushes himself up halfway, one palm flat as he rests on an elbow. Now why didn't he notice the bubble?]

I've been through worse, so there's nothing to worry about!

[She offers him a hand.]

If you're sure.

[He grins lopsidedly as he takes her hand.]

Pretty sure. Thanks.

[She stands up on her tail, giving her the leverage to help Hiccup to his feet.]

Well... good. Did you need something, or were you just looking around?

[She may be looking over his choice of outfit. Hm.]

I was looking around. Eh, you know how it is, being stuck on a ship with only so much to do. I didn't mean to interrupt you. And your work.

[Smoothing out his vest and tunic, Hiccup recomposes himself, foot and metal peg leg both planted firmly on the ground. His brow lifts, green eyes glancing between Keimi's face and her lower half.]

Aaand you have a tail! [He gestures loosely at the bubble.] This makes a little more sense now. Sort of.

Oh, um, I do, don't I?

[That's what she gets for wandering around her own ship without wearing a dress. She always gets nervous when people find out what she is.]

Y– well, yeah. [He holds up his hands.] Not like that's a bad thing!

Not at all! One of my shipmates has a tail like that.

Really? There's not many people like me here.

[It's kind of a lonely feeling. She's always been so surrounded by her kind.]

I dunno if you two are related or anything, or maybe that's just assuming too much. But...there has to be more than just the two of you around, right?

I've only ever met one other mermaid here, and I only saw her once.
