OTA Sailing and Gliding

[The HazMat's ship's namesake can be found playing about the main deck at times, bounding about like an overgrown cat. Sometimes he might be found napping below or coiled up beside the mast.

And sometimes if he's not doing some scouting with Hiccup, he's gliding between the ships, keeping tethered by a length of rope. Sometimes there's even fish to be caught! So don't be surprised if you catch Toothless with a mouthful of fish as he floats along.]

[Youp! There's a monkey on the rope! but he's just climbing up to say hi]

[Wat. Hay hooman wat r u dooin thar.]

Hey! [peers up at holding onto hat] Can I have a ride Dragony? [well he already sorta is but...]

[b2_dragon]

[Well, he's already there. Toothless is still confused as to how Luffy is managing staying on the rope, but then rubber man does a lot of weird things, so this must also be natural.

He gives a grunt of a growl. May as well climb aboard, Luffers.]

[with his hands and legs of course! But he takes the growl as an okay and scrambles up on Toothless' back.]

Wahoo! This is cool! Hey can you go fast?

[That's less awkward than having Luffy hanging about on the rope at least. Toothless makes a face as he's clambered upon, but once the monkey's aboard, the dragon levels out.

Hey, give him a break, Luffy- he's kind of hanging onto that rope for a reason! Otherwise he'd go as fast as he could get away with!]

Ehh? That's as good as you can do? [he sighs and leans forward, resting his chin on folded arms] You know that's kinda lame, Dragony. I expected more.

[b2_dragon]

[Oh, is he complaining now? Toothless grumbles, and then tucks himself into a barrel roll.]

AHH! [almost falls off but grabs Dragony's neck at the last minute so he's sort of whipped around like a particularly rubbery scarf] WOOO! THIS IS AWESOME!

[Grk! Well, that didn't work out so well but it did get Luffy to stop complaining. Strange human is strange!]

[he dangles there for a while but it's not that comfortable so he shifts, hooking his legs there too so he's clinging monkey like.]

You're warm. Why are you holding onto the rope anyway. Isn't that weird? Are you trying to pull us along?

[Toothless cranes his head a bit to try looking at Luffy. He's not sure what the strange stretchy human is asking, but it would be difficult for him to be pulling the ship along when he was trailing beside them. Every so often he readjusts his wings just a bit in order to keep catching the wind just right so that he can remain airborne.]

[well Dragony could be pulling them from the side. But he watches him readjust and looks at his wings and sees how they go and then tickles him under the wingpit to see if he's ticklish cuz he's there so why not?]

[LUFFY WAT ARE YOU DOING that is like the worst idea ever.

It's probably a good thing that Toothless doesn't seem to be ticklish, however, although he grunts in surprise, looking over at Luffy again as he wonders what the heck he thinks he's doing.]

[it's the best idea ever, what are you talking about? That failed, though, so he'll try to find other ticklish spots. They say you should never tickle a sleeping dragon, but what about a flying one?]

[The dragon proves to not be very ticklish at all, but he does like a good scratching. Although it's very distracting having a stretchy human try and tickle you while you're flying.

Luffy won't get the reaction he's looking for, although once he reaches that particular spot just to the side of the dragon's chin, Toothless goes limp- and of course gravity comes in to pull them both down.

WOAH! [fortunately he can think fast. He wraps an arm around Dragony and an arm around the nearest mast and just drags them both over to the ship, landing with his feet braced on the mast and holding Dragony easily]

Haha you okay?

[b2_dragon]

[That's better than a sudden briny dunking, at least! Toothless lies there almost lazily, shaking his head before he blinks at Luffy as though he'd just gotten up from a nap.]

Looks like I found a good spot! [hops down to the ground and puts Dragony on deck] You like it there huh? [scritchity scratch]

[b2_dragon]

[Well, at least this is way easier than having a squirmy stretchy crawling all over you. The dragon rumble-purrs, getting comfortable in his spot there on the deck.]

[Robin watches the dragon flitting about from the rail of her ship, her chin propped in one hand, seeming to be thinking about other things.]

[Toothless glances over, by now not surprised to see people across the way watching. They're not threats since the ships have been sailing together for some time, so the dragon doesn't mind an audience.

Something else catches his attention in the water, however, so he looks down, large green eyes scanning it before he suddenly dips, submerging completely but quickly, just beneath the surface. When he emerges again, he has a wiggling fish in his maw, and one can swear that he's smiling about it.]

[The dragon diving catches her full attention. She's worried for a moment that something happened- perhaps the tether caught its wing or it got driven under by a sudden gust. How long would it take for a dragon to drown, being towed behind a ship at full sail? Robin has just enough time to lean over the rail to get a better view, when the dragon bursts out of the waves once again, grinning around a fish. Robin leans back, letting out a relieved chuckle.]

You gave me a scare, you imp. Is that always how you catch your breakfast?

[He's not sure what she's saying, although the playful scolding of her tone is something he's heard Hiccup use. In response the dragon twists his head back and forth, wagging the fish about playfully before he tosses it back and swallows it whole. Brat.]
