goin on a boar hunt
Who: Luffy and Clementine
Where: Isla Empieza, the fountain, the forest
When: October 7th
What: Going to hunt a boar or two!
Warnings: Well you can bet it won't be...wait for it... boaring. ahahahaha /shot
Status: If you really want in, ping me.
It was early in the morning when Luffy approached the fountain, whistling to himself and tapping a stick against his shoulder. There were a lot of new people here and it was pretty exciting. Weird that no one had seen that annoying ghost guy, but maybe he only showed up once in a while. Anyway, that didn't matter right now. Sanji was getting compasses and he had his nakama back except Brook and it was a great day with blue skies and sharp clouds and a nice wind that curled everywhere and tickled the edges of his hat.
He spotted a girl by the fountain and wondered if it was the same one he'd talked to over the journal. Only one way to find out. He raised a hand in greeting.
"Yo!"

She got to her feet and smoothed out her new dress. She had a little backpack now that she had stopped to get at the market because Kyouya had to get rid of her sweater since it was covered in blood.

"What's in there? Did someone pack you a pirate bento?"
no subject
"I don't know...what's a bento?" Clementine asked curiously.
no subject
"It has rice and broccoli" boo "And meat. It'll keep you strong when you're hunting boars."

"Fiff fuf fafe faff feaffy ffoff feaff foff fa fiff-- fuff faffy ffoffy at dinner."

"Who is Kyo? Is he your nakama?"
no subject
"Kyo is Kyo-ya." She sounded it out. It was still pretty hard. "He got me this new dress, and I got to stay with him yesterday!"

"Have you decided what you want to do?" He hopped off the wall because it ended and ran his stick along a wooden fence. The town ended in a few feet and then there was the road to the forest. Already he could smell adventure.
no subject
"But I..." She paused. "I'm scared all the time."
no subject
But Ace had been right, too. This kind of thing happened all the time to people. Sometimes it wasn't even because of a jerk, but because of a storm or even because they got sick. She hadn't had an easy life before this either, he was pretty sure. Especially if she carried a weapon with her and there was a kind of hardness to her even if she was afraid. She wasn't a coward.
"Everyone dies. You're going to take the same risk no matter who you sail with. So you can be scared all the time, if you want." He shrugged and, since the fence was done, tapped the stick against his shoulder again. "Or you can find a way to have fun."
no subject
She scratched her head a little under her hat. "I don't like the walkers - the zombies. They're really scary. But it was okay because I had Lee with me. But Lee is gone now and I'm alone so it's really scary again. You said I had to put my life on the line to be a pirate, but I'm not sure, that's all."
Clementine looked down a bit. "If I die, won't I become one of them?"
no subject
He nodded at the pirate part, though he hadn't realized that was what she'd been talking about. He wasn't really sure how to answer her question, though. If she died would she become a pirate? Would she become a zombie? Or a walker?
"Who knows? It's a mystery."
LOL Salt.
Clementine looked a little worried about this. "But I guess I do dangerous things all the time. So it's not different right?"
no subject
"Yeah." He nodded. "And if you turn into a walker thingy, don't worry, we'll fix it." How was a mystery but he was sure he could find something.
no subject
It didn't sound too scary to go sailing. She didn't think so much about dying herself, until she lost Lee. She hoped if she did die, someone would let her rest.
no subject
"Hey, do you know any songs?"
no subject
She scratched her head under her baseball cap. "I think we used to sing songs in school, but I don't really remember them now."
no subject
"I can teach you one I learned." It was a pretty easy song and the best part was, it didn't matter if you forgot the words because you could just make them up.
no subject
omg no y
And he sucked in a deep breath.
"OIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!"
Zomg
"That's...really really loud."
no subject
no subject
Clementine went over to look closer at that above all. "Wow. You're really smart!"
no subject
"It still looks pretty fresh," he said in a low voice, pointing a little further on. "There's poop and it still looks warm." He poked it with the stick and found it was still squishy which meant whatever they were looking for was close by.
He dropped the stick and walked carefully alongside the trail, waving him behind her so that she would do it too and not accidentally mess it up or step in anything. It lead to some tall grasses that were waist high on him and he spotted something really cool that made him duck down and crawl on hands and knees through the grass so he wouldn't be noticed.
no subject
When he ducked down, she was forced to let go, but she got on her hands and knees too and followed after him. The ground was sticky, and a bit muddy, but she could wash her hands and knees later. She just hoped her new dress didn't get too dirty, or else Kyo might get mad at her.
no subject
Then he stopped, settling back on his legs and waited until she was by his side before carefully pulling the grass aside. A mother boar and three little boarlets lay in a patch of trampled down grass. No four little boarlets. Three were drinking happily at their mother's side but the fourth was wandering around, nosing through the trampled grass.

"We shouldn't eat them, cuz if we try, the mama will get mad. shishishi"
no subject
But on the other hand, they were hunting them to eat right? What would they eat if they didn't?
"Don't you want to eat them?"
no subject
"Are you hungry?"

He started inching back --and his stomach growled loudly. The mama boar's eyes shot open and focused on him. With a snort, she lumbered to her feet, pawing one against the ground. He gulped. Maybe she just had itchy feet?
no subject
When he started to move back, so did she, trusting his expertise on the matter. She saw the mother boar getting up but she hadn't spent much time studying animals, maybe they just got up from time to time.
no subject
He yelped as she lunged again and a third time, nearly grazing the back of his calf.
"I'M NOT GONNA EAT YOU, STUPID BOAR! GO AWAY!"
She must have been really mad because she only picked up speed. He tripped over a hidden root, losing ground as he flailed with one arm to keep upright, then spotted a tree in the distance.
He darted closer to it, propellering his free arm as he went.
"Gum Gum noooo GRAPPLING HOOK!" And his hand shot out, arm stretching the distance as he grabbed onto a branch, and pulled them up to it at a speed so fast they almost overshot.
no subject
As they ran however, it was really obvious he was doing it to protect her, which was a nice thought but she wasn't a toddler. She pouted at him a little bit.
All of that was washed away when they were suddenly flying through the air and she screamed at the top of her lungs.
no subject
"Whoo that surprised me. I thought we were going to die! Haha"
no subject
"I can run too...you don't have to carry me." Clementine said finally.
Then she paused. "How did you jump so high?"
no subject
"I didn't jump, I stretched," he said, pulling at his cheek to show. "I'm a rubber person."
