Not feeling like myself today...
Who: The Spade crew ... and the unfortunate souls who've swapped bodies with them
Where: Sun, Moon, Big Dipper, Little Dipper
When: Aug 21st-25th
What: Mist-Taken Identity event
Warnings: Varied; please put warnings in subject lines if/when necessary
Style: Any
Status: Open to crew/swapped crew
A catch-all log for the Spades and their shenanigans for the event.
If you aren't using icons for your character's swap and they are swapped, linking a picture of what they now look like would be helpful!

[This whole thing? Is pretty freaky. After all, this is not where she fell asleep last night and this is not her body. Okay, it could be worse. It could definitely be worse... but that doesn't mean it's not weird.
In her borrowed body, she can usually be found either in the galley (having a normal appetite after having gotten used to the dhampir metabolism means she's going to be snacking a lot) or on deck.
There has to be a way to undo this, right?]

"Oh!" The woman stood up a little straighter, though there was a clear uncertainty with the way she moved and talked. A small smile appeared at the question, and she shook her head. "No... I'm not... Rose. That's what she said her name was. My name's Alex."
Mature Goofiness
Logan stretched out his bare arms and flexed them. Not bad. Strong and fit. Lean, too. Nice arms. Nice chest. Niiice stomach. And... a growing need to relieve a full bladder. That should be interesting. He rubbed a hand over his face in bemusement only to discover a beard in place of smooth skin. "Well, cat," said Logan's voice with Elissa's 'English' accent, "I don't suppose you know what your Master uses for a chamberpot?" ... "Or where his journal might be?"
The pressing need to pee was far more urgent than anything else, so the newly male Elissa cautiously made his barefoot, shirtless way up to the deck in hopes of finding out just where he was, who he was, and how to pee over the railing. Not necessarily in that order.

Well, this is awkward...
The room looks familiar, but it's not the one he was in when he fell asleep. Same goes for the clothes, actually. He hops down to the floor (and wow are his legs shorter) and decides to take a peek out the door.
Crap.
It's not like boats look all that different from each other, but he's definitely been here before and he had no intention of ever darkening this doorstep ever again. Just his luck. Well, at least that makes it easy to figure out what's going on here. It looks like that weird mist had some sort of body swap curse in it, because this is definitely the Moon and this is definitely the body of one Selphie Tilmitt.
So.
First order of business is to find her journal and see what horrible things Selphie is doing to his body. Second order of business is to hope people aren't as attached to their journals as he is and snoop around his old stomping grounds and see what he can see.]
["Selphie" can be found doing a passable Selphie impression and doing rather what you would expect to find Selphie doing. If she seems particularly zealous about cleaning the ship today, well, that's because it's the easiest way for Lea to stick his nose where it doesn't belong.]
/makes it worse
[Marco gives "her" a one-armed hug around the shoulders and leans on her head.] Please tell me you're still you. [Between losing oh..... everyone, and then everyone else getting mixed up... nah man, he's in a sad state and could use a bff hug.]

If nothing else, all that time doing the double agent/assassin gig taught him the control necessary not to headbutt him, though the temptation is definitely there. He manages to paste on a sunny smile and lean on him a little. (Ugh.)]
Who else would I be, silly?

A bit more literally bloodthirsty
And on a bigass ship, which is also awesome. Bye bye, crappy little sailboat.
So he's on someone else's ship, which means he's got to go sneak around and see what they have that he can steal or otherwise use to his advantage. Except he's kind of hungry. Really hungry actually. There was some trail mix near where he was sleeping, but he ate it all and it really didn't do much, so maybe he should figure out where they keep the food, too.
Only there's something Ja'far doesn't know. And he discovers it pretty quick when when tries to sneak into someone's bedroom and slams face first into...well, nothing he can see, that's for sure.]
oops

NOT SWAPPED :O
[He wants to find everyone and keep them together, and that just a thousand times more difficult.]
[He wants to bug his brothers who are GODS KNOW WHERE.]
[He has no idea who is who anymore.]
[If people act like "themselves" he thinks they're totally not swapped at first!]
[Which leaves him slowly wondering who the fuck is on this ship, where the fuck is his real family, and what the fuck should he even do about it.]
[So half of the time, Marco looks more dazed and bewildered than anyone will have ever seen him before.]
[The other half of the time though, he actually seems generally on top of shit, keeping track of it all, and making notes and lists, and keeping their heading.]
[By evening of the first day he gives a LOUD piercing whistle and calls out:]
ROLE CALL! EVERYONE GET FRONT AND CENTER. State your name, crew, and if you need help identifying or properly using your body, ask now.

[She appears almost instantly, half scrambling. Not quite elegant, but--]
Alex Tate -- Triton's Mistress. Sir.
[Because, well, she's not sure what's going on. Or how long she's going to be stuck like this. Or how long the other woman's going to have her body.
And all the things that can go wrong there.]

Musa, Queen's Gambit.
[She'd rather not know anything about this man that she didn't already know, she just wanted to get back soon before that crazy man did anything.]
I'd rather I just go back before the man whose body this belongs to does anything that might cause problems. Totally uncool.

[He makes his way over to Marcoh.]
Zeff. Full-time cook of the Spade Pirates. Some bastard's pretty lucky they didn't end up in my body.
[Adjusting from having two legs to getting around with a peg leg had been one hell of an adjustment for Zeff. He didn't want to end up back in his own body with it covered in bruises because someone couldn't figure out how to get around.]
How many people aren't who they look like?
Ace <-> Bolin; same guy sense tingling
[Ace's reaction to Bolin running off and stealing his handsome body was as sane as any other. He plopped himself on the deck in his friend's body, ripped his shirt off and threw it on the wood panels beneath his feet. He hefted a large axe he had grabbed from below deck, sat himself down at the grinding wheel and started sharpening the axe, gently pumping the pedal.
His whistle was calm and placid and the axe was a bit on the ridiculously large size.]

[ ladies and gentlemen, this is... not your captain speaking. tbh that'll probably be obvious sooner rather than later, because Bolin's never been one for concealing his emotions. Which is more to say, at least one dude starts this event off with a loud, panicked scream.
He kind of sets a hammock on fire and then that makes him scream again, and then he runs out to to the main deck and he doesn't know what to do with his hands and doesn't want to glass a beach or something and Ace's body is crazy strong and he almost broke a door???
Bolin is gonna be like 99% useless while this is all going on. the 1% of him that will be is his own body because Ace is ripping the shirt off of it and stuff. THIS ISN'T WHAT HE EXPECTED WHEN HE SHOWED UP AND HAD TO JOIN A PIRATE CREW.
Basically expect to find him in varying stages of panic and unease, trying really hard not to set stuff on fire, trying really hard to put out a fire he accidentally started, ooooor... asleep at inopportune moments because he just inherited a brand new case of narcolepsy. idk we can mix it up. ]

[Same old same old.]
[Deadpan turn to the 4th wall wherein he hopes the real Ace in Bolin's body is watching.] Do you see how inconvenient that is now?

[Musa had decided to go through with her threat and break a few things, but first she needed some way to do that. Stupid weak body. Seriously this guy needed to get his back sorted among other things. So she had been currently carrying around some blueprints that she saw had something to do with fairies and of course that fairy tracker.
It wasn't long before she spotted someone trying to put out a nearby fire.]
Do you...need help?
Second Day - Partycrasher!
Give him a minute to get his wits about him, it's a whole other problem that he's so tall and just not very used to it. Even more strange is having to carry around a sword.]
no subject
What, did you just find a taller you? I feel cheated.
[Lea is leaning on a railing as usual, which doesn't look quite as cool when it's Selphie's body doing it. Or at least that's what he thinks of the situation.]
