Spade Pirates - Isle of the Heartless

Who: The Spade Pirates
Where: The Sea (Heading Southwest), Heartless Island, Stone Nest

What: Sailin'! We'll be all over the place and the log details may change given time.
Warnings: None so far. Can be updated if it gets violent, etc.
Style: Action / Prose is fine.
Status: OPEN to crew, CLOSED to people teleporting in unless there's permission!

[This will be a general catch-all post for mingling! I'll just toss in weather for the next 2 weeks.]

10/16 - 10/20 [AT SEA, SAILING SOUTHWEST] - We'll mingle at our leisure! Ace's Devil Fruit power will push the weather at bay a little and it'll be mostly sunny skies. Also, they may encounter a ghost ship... OK, they will.

10/21 - 10/22 [ARRIVAL TO HEARTLESS ISLAND, LEAVING ON THE 22ND] - You guys can't blame Ace for a hasty escape this time!

10/23 - 10/25 [AT SEA, SAILING ?????] - The crew will be dealing with a sudden squall pending the arrival of a hurricane from the other side of the Heartless Island. As the crew may have to put everything into avoiding the hurricane, their course will be a bit... off.

10/26 - 10/27 [STONE NEST / KRAKEN NEST] - 'Nuff said. They'll leave once it becomes apparent they have nothing else to gain from being there. The weather, upon leaving, will likely be sunny because of Ace.

10/28 - 10/31 [FREE SAILING, MAYBE ISLAND #3'S INITIAL JOURNEY] - Barf. Ghost ships Round 2!

[Here we will have Vivre Cards being handed out on the 16th, Newbies being taught how to boats on the 16th - 19th and general shenanigans from the 16th - 20th.

[Here we will have the crew's arrival to the Heartless Island with their finely tuned escape in the evening on the 22nd.

Their arrival to the island will be sunny as a storm just passed through. The island will be muddled with still-continuing floods.

(A - 16th) Ace will be easily spotted walking around the ship as he makes it his job to call out for new sailors on the ship to watch as he does things.

He'll be fixing the rigging only partially, because of The Doctor's new engine. Ace will be yelling to Thatch to tell the crew to do things as he's showing them how to do them, primarily because Ace only knows how to do it--not instruct.

(B - 17th) Training! Ace is going to make the new group navigate the ship as quickly as possible. There may also be some hand-to-hand instruction from him during the course of the day when he's not asleep, otherwise.

(C - 18th thru to 20th) General stuff! You can use (C) if you want Ace to sneak into your muse's bed/hammock in the middle of the night to sleep and be totally unnerving.

A) 'office hours'. Have a question/complaint/whathaveyou? This is the option for it. Thatch is usually on deck doing something or the other.

B) Cooking. Hungry? Mealtime? Helping out in the galley? Trying to steal a snack? Ping this thread.

C) Anything else you might want including telling Thatch to get the hell out of the bathroom. Bastards. A man has needs.

[Natsuno is going to sneak into the kitchen to find himself a snack, simply because he's got to eat, frequently even. He'll try and avoid Thatch's attention.]

[Navigating the ship is no problem, but Natsuno knows his fighting skills are far less than underwhelming and he could probably use some instruction. He'll sidle up, have a look around and keep an eye on the lesson from the corner.]

(A - 16th) Natsuno can be found alone at the front of the ship, sitting on the railing and looking out at sea. He's lost in thought, looking out over the vast nothingness.

(B - 18th) He will be hiding below deck today, maybe to catch a few extra Z's. With the stress of everything, he's looking for a relaxing moment to himself.

(C - 19th & 20th) Natsuno, being on the cleaning crew, will be cleaning around on the ship. It doesn't matter so much where he's found, what matters is that he's getting his chores done! However, if one expects him to clean their personal rooms, there's not much hope there, unless he's invited inside. Feel free to try and get him to ask for permission!

[Kairi recalled Ace telling her to meet and practice her skills with a man simply called Thatch. So once they had started sailing she knew that the best idea would be to go find him first and ask. Thankfully she soon spotted him and made her way over. God she hoped this was the right guy.]

Excuse me, but would you name be Thatch by any chance?

[Looks at the mushy flooding.]

[Looks at his open sandals.]

[Looks at Ace.]

Ace, just once, could you pick someplace that isn't so wet?

*Selphie has made a very important announcement of a meeting that all of the Spade Crew MUST attend. For her, it sounded as serious as she was ever likely to be. So it must be of utmost importance, right?

At said meeting, Selphie stands herself on top of a crate (which, yes, still means she's shorter than some of the crew), but instead of her nunchaku, she's holding tightly onto a mop*

Spade Pirates - thank you all for attending this important meeting this morning. It is my duty to disclose to you a very crucial mission, without which, the ship cannot sail. Ladies and gentlemen, this is...

OPERATION KEEP THE BOAT CLEAN

*Somehow, she still looks serious, standing to attention and saluting with the hand that isn't holding the mop*

It is crucial that every member of the ship takes their duty in cleaning. I have devised rotas - you will see that each member of the crew takes a new cleaning role each week. Sometimes, you will have a free week as reward for your hard effort. *She totally gave these rotas out to everyone at the start of the meeting*

It is expected that everyone looks after their own private living quarters - but I WILL be inspecting them once a fortnight. If I have reason to believe you are growing mould in your room, or if you begin to smell, there will be consequences for your actions.

I cannot stress enough the importance that every man takes his role seriously. Do NOT disappoint me. I do NOT want to have to issue punishments.

*With all that said, Selphie salutes again, and bursts into a fit of giggles*

[Logan attended, at a distance. He glanced over her little rota, but didn't make a comment on it. He stayed in the back, arms folded, watching her take charge. When she mentioned going through peoples bunks for mold he snorted, eyes rolling. They wouldn't have to worry about him. He didn't really make a mess (okay, well, his hide away in the hills was a bit of a mess at one point, but he was drinking a few bottles a day and leaving them around.... that was then. That was he alone. Here he had others he had to consider.)]

[When she broke into giggles he snorted again, head shaking. Feel free to come and bug him while he's here in the background, otherwise, after people have cleared out he's going to wave the paper at the girl, commenting in a dark voice]

Swab the deck, tar the railings, fix the rigging, KP duty, what ever you want, squirt, but if I see my name on latrine duty we'll have words.

[A - 10/16] - Since leaving that last island a while back, Logan has been wearing a shirt more often then not, mostly because he's hiding the fact that he got shot. Shot and it hadn't healed right. Right as in... not right away. He's been grouchy about this so for this last week he's been the least conversational.

Today was the day that he realized the hole was completely healed up, much faster then normal people, but much MUCH slower then his own heal time. He'd even cut his arm a few days back to see if it would heal, and it didn't. Faster then the gun shot, but not Wolverine level of healing.

It was pissing him off. Feel free to find him today, shirtless for once. He has a scar running over his left forearm (it was open two days ago) and a light pink scar on his chest that's still tender. Doesn't matter though. He's spending most his day in the sun (thank's Ace), working, moping, or taking a short break for himself.

[B - 10/17-18] - After Ace's training with some of the kids, Logan offered others some fighting training, or at least defense. He's not the BEST teacher, but he has worked with Professor X's kids in the past. There was no danger room here, but these kids aren't Mutants either. He made the offer out to others, if they're interested. If you ARE interested in help, with fighting, defense, or even ship stuff, come bother him. Otherwise he's just working around the ship.

[C - 10/18-20] - General things can be done here as well. He's working, training (either with people or on his own). The claws will be out when he's on deck, practicing some moves in order to one, keep in shape (like he has to worry) and two, keep moving. He's not sleeping. Or at least not often or very well.

If you DO catch him sleeping, it wont be long. Maybe leaning against something on deck, in the sun, or hidden beside a barrel at night, nodded off on mistake. If left to sleep for a bit, one might find that he's restless. Angry faced in sleep. Shifts a lot, and, if touched, he might hit you. Or claw you. Goodness, don't wake him when he's really tossing, or you might get some holes in you. Kids, remember not to waking a sleeping Wolverine.

If you are his bunk mate (and he has just the one right now) you might catch him sleeping on his bunk, having a REALLY bad dream one night. If you feel so inclined to try and stop the tossing and turning nightmare, go for it. He's not been sleeping in his bed for a few days, and finally gave out to do it, but that might be a small mistake. Jean's bothering him, but so are other thoughts in his dreams. It's not good, and he's tossing well, growling even. Are you going to try to wake your bunk mate, or sneak off to get rest else where.

[He is lying on his hammock strung in the galley. The only empty space on a ship packed full of new kids. Not that he minds sharing a berth particularly, but he doesn't sleep much and prefers to read instead, which is what he's doing now, hair tied back for the evening as he reads a book on astronomy]

[unfortunately for him, Thatch is very good at spotting sneaktheives coming into the galley. Sailing with Ace, it was a habit you learned or found your favorite chocolate mousse devoured. It doesn't matter that his back is turned and he's up to his elbows in flour and dough]

After you eat, you can help out. [and he nods to a bowl of dough still sitting on the counter]

[he looks up from the book he's reading and smiles at her]

Indeed it is, missy. I'm guessing you're Kairi?

[either that or Laura]

[And Natsuno was trying to be quiet too. He selects something easy, a piece of fruit and glances over.]

Help with what?

[Natsuno is on cleaning crew with Selphie, but when she stops talking, he'll approach her.]

You'll...have to do your inspections alone.

After watching Ace's lessons, Natsuno approached Logan for training instead. He wasn't big on doing group things, and he kind of has a sort of affection for Logan, in that he doesn't hate him. Logan really should feel honoured about that.

He walked up to him quietly. "Can you teach me to fight?"

He might be a good match for Logan, he'd heal incredibly quickly should he get hurt.

*After a long day of cleaning and the first round of inspections, Selphie was feeling pretty sleepy. Once she was in her super cute yellow pjs, Selphie slipped into her hammock, covered herself with her blanket, and closed her eyes in preparation for a cosy night's uninterrupted sleep*

*Selphie smiles brightly and waves with enthusiasm towards him. She raises a brow at his statement, however*

Oh really? And why is that?

I can't go into people's rooms uninvited.

Kneading. Well specifically making bread. Don't worry, I'll show you how.

Alright.

[It doesn't take long to consume his food and wash his hands.]

[When he was done, Ace turned on his heel and looked dead into Natsuno's eyes.

Ace dropped down and grinned.]

You're next, Natsuno! Ready?

[He fell a few times on the way to the rooms. Ace had been overwhelmingly sleepy. The fatigue he felt wasn't from sheer physical exhaustion--rather, the activities of the day had left him so jovial he hadn't relaxed even for a moment. The second he did, he felt the need to process it all and sleep.

It was something he could have called a good day.

To which Thatch might have disagreed, given that Ace was looking to sleep in the galley and not one of the normal bunks. Though, he didn't even seem to notice--as he was nearly sleep-walking. Ace grabbed the side of the hammock and threw himself in--right on top of Thatch.

He fell asleep instantly.]
