This world is too unfamiliar and the powers at play too strange not to have a crew, and ultimately the one he's found hasn't been the worst possible choice. Marvelous at least leaves his crew alone when the running of the ship or its plans isn't threatened, and Itachi seems to like some of the people on board.

"But we do need a medic," he says to Sakura, and then grudgingly, without actually bothering to look at Naruto to include him: "And anyone who can fight.
