It's an undercurrent instead.
Still there, unseen to most, but screaming as oppressively loudly as all the life in its silence.
For every new life that breathes in the forest now, how many dead fell before it?
It's like a clock spinning so fast it's almost stuck on twelve. Everyone else doesn't notice it, but Ikki and I can see the hands spinning.
