Ja'far kicked his heels against the side of the boat and considered the ships blockading the island.

"Parthevians are pretty ruthless, yeah, but that's because Parthevia is a shithole. Cute works pretty damn well everywhere else, not that I usually bother with that crap."

He puffed up a little bit at that. Subdued and contemplative as he was at the moment, his basic nature wasn't changing any time soon.
