Pls to be dating threads and also saying where you are since we're dealing with three ships, (two spades) and numerous places on the island. Also pls to be marking for nsfw threads if they should occur. No hotspring shenanigans in front of the children, Ace, and no drowning in them either, Natsuno.

[Ace stood on the deck of the Sun with the usual table he had set out for Natsuno which had an array of pistols set on the surface.

He frowned, looking around and wondered where the hell he was.]

Oi, Natsuno! Where the hell are ya!?

[reluctantjinrou]

[In reality he's not that far, he can hear Ace calling from the Sun and he leans out over the railing.]

Over here! I'll be right there!

[He's not one for shouting, but he can do it if he has to. He crosses the gap between the two ships again and lands on the deck. He's got a few bites left when he comes up to Ace.]

Sorry. I'm really hungry.

[hiken]

[Ace watched as Natsuno leaped over and he scowled a bit clearly. He wasn't really angry, but he had to be responsible as a teacher.]

You have to let me know if you're not gonna show up. The next time you don't show up or appear late, you take over my cleaning duty for the day. Alright?

[reluctantjinrou]

[Natsuno snaps into a deep bow, head lowered.]

I'm sorry, it was rude of me to be late. I lost track of time. It won't happen again.

[hiken]

... Oi, fight me back a little. [Ace reached over and tapped Natsuno's head with his knuckles.]

[reluctantjinrou]

[Natsuno raises his head and blinks at him. It's seventeen years of politeness programming, Ace won't be able to undo it in a day.]

But you're right, and it was rude of me to be late. Consequences for something like that would be fitting.

[hiken]

[...Ace's dead stare got a little bit worse.

This time, he reached down to pick up a mop bucket before he held it over Natsuno's head, dropping it over.]

Anymore apologies and I'm gonna tie you up by the Crow's Nest.

[Natsuno lets out a startled cry as he's doused with water and a bucket. He pushes it back up to look at Ace.]

...Alright I won't apologize anymore.

[He takes it off his head and pushes his hair out of his eyes.]

[hiken]

Good. [Ace held one hand over Natsuno's head--letting flames dance along his arm to help Natsuno dry off.]

Anyway, let's start. Not gonna have you touch anythin' until you're dry, but now's a good time to go over the basics.

[reluctantjinrou]

[Natsuno sighs.]

Alright, I'm paying attention.

[hiken]

[Ace's hand remained.]

Good. Now, which end of the gun do you point at your enemy?

[reluctantjinrou]

[Thanks to the great deal of media in the twenty-first century, Natsuno can answer that. He gestures to the end of the barrel.]

I know you hold it here, and that this is the trigger. That's the extent of my knowledge.

[hiken]

Of course. [And, to break the mood, Ace's tone turns much more grave.]

Which end do you point at your allies?

[He can meet the tone.]

You don't.

[hiken]

[At that, Ace smiled.]

That's a good answer. Now, I know you know pulling the trigger does it--but, we're gonna talk about stuff you need to know when you're actually handling the thing.

How's it fire?

[reluctantjinrou]

I know it has something to do with gunpowder, at least historically and this place is pretty historical.

[Natsuno takes a deep breath.]

Um, Ace...what if I freeze up?

[hiken]

I don't think you're gonna. [He hiked a brow, looking Natsuno over a moment.]

After what you've been through, there ain't gonna be enough to make you stutter, Natsuno.

Anyway--you're right, gunpowder's the main component. Now, gunpowder's made of a bunch of different crushed up rocks and they're all flammable. Know what happens when you try to light somethin' on fire when it's wet?

[reluctantjinrou]

[That's a big vote of confidence on Ace's part and Natsuno nods a little, even if he's not entirely sure. He hasn't had much luck with his resolve in the past.]

Well it wouldn't catch fire most likely. It might smoke a little.

[hiken]

Not even smoke. See, water clogs up and clumps up gunpowder. Sparks can't even get past it in most cases. Essentially--if you ever get a gun in water, you won't be able to use it 'till you clean it.

You need air to ignite gunpowder. So, the water keeps the air from reaching the gunpowder and you've got a glorified rock in your hands.

[Ace let Natsuno have the gun.]

Next up-- is gun powder edible?

[Natusno's eyes widen and he can't stop his exclamation.]

WHAT?!

[He clears his throat and glances away, oops.]

No, of course it isn't!

[hiken]

Right. Now, why do you think I'm asking you this?

[reluctantjinrou]

I really can't imagine a reason why you'd ask me that.

[hiken]

You gotta think a bit more.

Is your dinner table a good place to clean and load your gun?

Good, now stop lookin' like you just now realized your captain's smart.
