A phoenix on the Moon
Who: Marco & YOU
When: The night of the 18th
Where: Ship: the Moon (top deck)
What: Marco wants to find all the cute chicks. Yes, I mean the hatched baby muppet birds. SO FLUFFY!!!
Warnings: UH I assume G, but it's Marco, so really all bets are off. Plus he might bug Thatch so really really all bets off.
There's a bright blue phoenix hanging around the deck of the Moon and making a fort out of barrels, blankets, sail cloth, and assorted other fun things. He may or may not also have decided to try to look for books. Sometimes when you're stuck in bird form, even if it's of your own free will, you just have to read.

"Hi Xifer! I guess you wanted to see the chick I found."

Marco chirped happily and came closer to inspect the new life. Hello fluffy little guy!!
He handed Roxas the letter and quirked his head to the side, waiting expectantly for a name for the chick.
no subject
"Uh, I haven't picked a name yet." He scratched his cheek a little sheepishly. He wanted to avoid another Organziation name for Lea to frown over so he was trying to think of any good names he knew.
no subject
"It'll come to you," he said, absolutely confident in Roxas' capacity at naming things.
no subject
It was really cute, but if it was going to be too cold and die, it was better off with Marco.
no subject
"I'll help, but you still have to look after her. It'll be good to learn."
Marco couldn't keep birds as pets, it was too confusing on his head. Even Stefan was more Whitebeard's dog than Marco's, even if Marco did look after him the most.
He quietly checked on the chick's body temperature to make sure it was warm enough. Warm, just hungry. And he nudged her back into Roxas' hand before waving a wing for Roxas to follow him to the store room.

"You don't want it Xifer?"
no subject
He whistled again and led to the stores, nosing through ingredients until he got to corn meal. He tugged it out, opened it up and waited expectantly for Roxas to give him an open hand that he could put some in.

"That kind of tickles. Do you know how I found her? I was just out here getting ready for breakfast and I saw the shiny egg hiding up in the doorway. I had to jump a little to get it because I'm not that tall, but I didn't know it would have a baby in it! If I did that, I would have made Lea get it because he's like a giant!"
no subject
"So maybe you can name her after that! Sounds precarious though. I hope these are hardier little chicks than they look."
He quietly nudged the chick again to check on her, and make sure she was okay. Warm at least!
no subject
Roxas gave him a grin.
"Hello!"
True to his word, he practiced.
no subject
He nodded about keeping her up on his head, heads are warm, and even more, the added height feels safest, which is good for birds, even chickens who were terrible fliers.
no subject
"Well you should show me your fort!"
no subject
"Okay, come along, but it's your job to make improvements. Especially since I might leave on that mission tomorrow, eh?"
He vaguely wondered if this whole Marco / Xifer division was going to be a problem, but well, he'd have to find a way to deal with it then. He led Roxas back up deck to the secret entrance of the fort.
no subject
"Do we go inside?"
It was a good thing he was pretty small. Lea might be too big for a fort.
no subject
He carefully crawled in and left room for Roxas to follow, and a scarf bed for the baby chick.

It seemed to chirp a bit, maybe it didn't like being pushed into a fort, but Roxas was worried she'd fall off his head.

She chirped at being manhandled suddenly, but since it was a nice warm bed she settled in comfortably.
Roxas smiled, she was really cute. Marco was too, but the baby chick is just a baby. He sat up then, wondering how to settle himself. He decided to lean against a barrel, watching over both of them. "I should read your letter so I can answer your questions."
no subject
"Go for it, kiddo!"
He gently protected the chick, making sure he could keep her warm.

"Well...I'm glad Marco's not too mad at me. I didn't think he thought I could help. I can you know. I've done recon before. Just between you and me, I don't think his plan is going to work. There's a lot of problems with it." Roxas looked serious for that moment before he sighed. Oh well, it probably didn't matter much what he thought about it.
"You should spar with me! It's good practice and you can see my keyblades. They're really cool, actually." Just don't ask where they came from, he thought.
"Let's see, what else..." He shuffled the paper a bit. "You would have been able to fly in my prison, at least a little bit. It was a big prison...but it's because of that I can skateboard. Before then I don't think I knew how. I was only there a week, so at least it wasn't a long time."
no subject
"I wouldn't mind seeing your keyblades, but I don't spar often, if ever, yoi." Especially not as a phoenix. Even fighting true enemies he rarely stayed fully in phoenix form. It was too ethereal to hold much mass which meant blocking, knocking them overboard or straight up trying to kill them. It was a shame he wouldn't be able to get the letter tomorrow if he went to the Straw Hats however. Maybe if he stayed an extra day.
As for the prison, Marco tilted his head curiously. Well at least he got to skateboard, so it must have been nothing like Impel Down, thank fuck.

"What else..." He hummed a little. "Well I don't know how fun being a Heartless is. I do okay, here at least. There's a lot of fun things to do, not like in the Organization."
"And our numbers were kind of like our rank. I was the last Nobody to come so I was thirteen. 'The Key of Destiny'. Xemnas says some weird things." Roxas thought about what he said about people not being able to go home.
"You know, going home, I..." Roxas said softly. "I don't know." He reached out and ran his fingers through the feathers. "I'm scared, that's all. I'm scared and I'm angry." His fingers clenched tightly around some feathers before he thought about it. "I'm so mad."
