What: VACATION. They've had a rough summer so it's time for some downtime. There are water parks, beaches, and an obligatory onsen, so mix and mingle with the super-happy (and young and pretty) locals and have some fun!

[Gan Ning promised his ragtag crew a party, and by god, they were going to have a party. It might have been worth it to hold on Isla Empieza, to mingle with other crews there, but there wasn't much going on there to stick around for. He heard from someone in the harbor about this island and decided it would make a great place for a party.

Somewhere along the way Raphael disappeared, sadly, but the rest of them continued on. They had already put off partying for too many reasons - a poor showing in the race, other crewmates disappearing, Cynthia's rescue from the clutches of giant spiders, and so on. No more. This time, they were just going to put down anchor, hang out on the beach, make some ice cream, and have a good time. Besides, with Tsuzuki joining the crew, they had to show him that they knew how to stick together, right?

Margarita's fine. Not sure I even know what that is except that it's booze and that's good enough for me.

He tries to pull himself up onto the inner tube, wondering why it's being so difficult to climb onto. A lot of tugging is involved...until he finds out too late that there's a body there.]

[The water pulls back, and Toothless finally finds purchase on the sand, shaking off as the waves stubbornly try to pull the very sand from under his feet...

Hearing the blubbering from the soggy Viking, he steps over to once again haul the waterlogged Hiccup to his feet again.]

He could empathize on the loss of time drinking could do to a guy... and his boss had made him work through it. Not fun memories at all...

"Oh, wow," Tsuzuki looked so impressed by all the excitement. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad. Between the laid back crew he had found and the opportunities it had to offer, he might get wrapped up enough to forget his anxiety over back home. That would be nice. "Sounds like a lot of stories to be made in the future. Let me know when you want to hit up the bar scene here. I can't imagine a water park island not having amazing bars and drinks."

"Depends on how late we wanna hang out here and soak," Xingba mused. "If it ain't too late, we can probably make a first run tonight. Check things out, yanno?"

But he was rather enjoying the bath, so he was in no hurry to jump on out and get dressed, even for booze. If not that night, they would have plenty of time in the coming days to go bar-hopping.

[just laughs and elbows him. Perhaps he'll have to nominate Gaius as his new first mate in the coming days...]

"Well, Captain Gan Ning and I met when he made an entry on his journal about needing to burn time, and we hit if off pretty well. I also met Roxas in the baths. He seems like a fun kid. There were some people I said hello to in passing on the ship, but I kind of felt invisible to be honest. Hm!" He kept his eyes on the ball, trying not to get outside the green boxes. He looked like he was having fun though. That what this was for though, fun!

Hiccup comes up, coughing and sputtering as he goes slack leaning against Toothless once he's on his foot and prosthetic again.]

Ugh, salt. And sand. In mouth. [Spit. Cough. SIgh.] Thanks, bud.

[Roxas could, but they're just playing around and in that spirit he stands on tiptoe and tries to plant his hand on the top of Lea's head.]

[Lea leans back and cranes his neck to keep him from reaching.]

You're gonna have to get a lot taller before you can do that. Like, a whole foot. Maybe more. Two whole feet.

[It won't take that much, but best to set the bar high.]

The dragon stands by, looking concernedly at Hiccup. At least when he talks again, somewhat, Toothless can figure that the boy's all right. He'll start to lead him back towards dryer beach.]

[He lets out a little huff and tries some more, stretching as much as he can.]

Leeeaaa! You're cheating again! Be less tall!

[Because that is clearly the solution here.]

"It was a long trip here, and you guys have been through some rough seas in the past few weeks, I heard. For once, I'll be an old man and soak my bones. Hm-hm!" He slumped backward in the bath, following his hand together on his chest with a sigh.

"I'm all for drinks later though, Captain."

"Hm... I have a friend back home like that. He's my partner in my job, and he's the closest to family I've had in a really long time. He was willing to stay with me through a time when I just wanted to disappear, but I'm trying to be better, knowing someone wants me around."

It sounded sad to listen to some talk about how they were going to disappear. It was a big deal to tell someone you barely know such an intimate thing, but he didn't feel intimidated. He was a shinigami after all, a shepherd of souls as someone once told him. He hoped he could get to know the boy more, and maybe share his experiences with things like this...

"Well, being a hero is a lot of work. It's better to just worry about being a good person and doing what you believe is right."

Roxas blinked a few times. "Why would you want to disappear?"

That was the last thing he wanted, the very last thing. It wasn't a secret though, it was a complicated mess and it was easier to explain a thing or two at a time. Roxas tilted his head at the final thoughts and shrugged. "I don't really know what that is. I don't know what's right really."

Sometimes that was very true. Roxas had a lot to learn.

Haha! You sound like you have a fun friendship to me. I'm glad to hear it. I was hoping to find a crew that were kind of like my friends back home. We might not always get along, but after the words are thrown around and punches thrown, we still look out for each other in the end. It seems like I found a crew like that after all. Hm!

Yeah... he said that you found him a really nice treasure once and gave it to him. Does that sound strange?

I guess Life really is one Hell of a thing to live through everywhere, huh? It's good to know you didn't let it sour your personality though. Great charisma makes people willing to follow you. I wish mine was better. I think my friends mostly worry if I'll run into a brick wall half the time. Aha...

"Well... I wasn't supposed to exist... either..." He shrugged, not sure how to put that in words without ripping his own wound open. He smiled sadly as he looked back at Roxas. "A lot of people hated me when I was growing up, and I wasn't a very strong person to stand up for myself for a long time."

He was going to ask more questions, but paused instead. His expression was...well it didn't look great. Roxas' brow frowned as he tried to figure out what he was feeling, only he wasn't sure.

"I'm...well why aren't you supposed to exist? You're a regular person right?"

"I..." His voice was soft, like he was afraid. His purple eyes even trembled a bit just thinking about the reason. He closed his eyes to take a breath, remembering something Hisoka had told him that made him very happy.

"I'm... not quite normal... It's hard to explain, but I guess the best way to put it is I'm a jinx. People get hurt because of me... a lot." Well, the word hurt was an understatement. Most of them died...
