Mini-Vacation from your Vacation, chere?
Who: The crew of the Stargazer & Rogue.
Where: The sea?
When: 10/01 - 10/08
What: Specifically, Rogue and Gambit have a good time in the rain. And other week shenanigans.
Warnings: Cute where it has no place being
Style: whatever
Status: Closed
The Stargazer is a humble little sailboat, enough room for three and right now they're at maximum capacity with an extra guest. Who is stuck on board for a week. While Gambit expects the Princess and Rogue to get along real good - he's not so sure about how the next seven days will pan out. They'll just have to find out...

But. Well. Between mermaids and shark-men and phoenixes and alternate universes... A talking pony isn't that strange. So, a second later, she smiles.]
It's... kinda new. One I picked up that ain' gone away like they usually do.
Still. [A shrug and a bit more of a smile.] Kinda useful, y'know?

[Because she doesn't want to talk about the circumstances. But... not admitting that.]
Waitin' 'til I got it more under control, y'know? So I can really help out.
no subject
Would you like some assistance? I am not certain how similar our magics are, but I know the wind.
no subject
Had someone at the school who could control the weather, but she ain' here, so... Could use some help.

[Luna sits herself down across from Rogue.] Show me what you are doing again.

She could feel -- hear? -- it. And with a gesture of her hand, she called it back to her, then forward with a little more force, half filling the sail.]
no subject
Can you do aught else with it? Or only wind?
no subject
Still. Pretty useful in a place like this, y'know?

... I would typically tell a pegasus to focus on the wind in their feathers, but I suppose that does not apply. Perhaps focus instead on your breathing.

[Rogue closes her eyes. She tries to drown out the voices in her head with the sound of the wind, with her own breathing. In and out, easy and full.
Focus on the voice she hears almost in the wind. The one she's speaking to. Asking to listen to her. To obey.
And she focuses on creating a swell of wind, full but in control, to push the sail out to the extent it will go. Not a violent force, just a steady, strong push.]

She can have you instead!
She sees the face, sees the blood, and then... it vanishes. It flows through her. In her blood.
And her hand twists to bring the wind back, right at herself and Luna.
With enough force to throw Rogue onto the deck.
The shock of the blow, though, brings her back to her mind.]
Damn it!
Sorry 'bout that... [As she pulls herself to her feet.] Don'... Don' know what happened.
Musta lost control.
no subject
To be expected. Thou'rt learning. [That was violent...and a little concerning, maybe, if it continues. For now she won't say anything.] Art thou unharmed?
no subject
[Because, well, she doesn't need to try and explain what happened. As far as she was concerned, it was just a little loss of focus and control.]
Sorry.

She could stop. At least for the day. She knows better than to try and push the powers away, ignore them entirely, but she could let herself rest.
Give into that fear.
Rogue shakes her head.]
'M fine. I can keep goin'.
no subject
[Luna's a bit concerned, but she wasn't lying when she said slips in focus were natural. Really she's more worried that Rogue seems to have taken it a bit badly.]
no subject
She keeps them open, her gaze half on Luna. To steady herself. To remember where she is.
With a breath in, she twisted her hand to gather a bit of wind, then moved it forward to push it against the sail again. Something smaller, calmer than her last attempt.]

[It's a good enough excuse, far as she's concerned.]
