Mini-Vacation from your Vacation, chere?
Who: The crew of the Stargazer & Rogue.
Where: The sea?
When: 10/01 - 10/08
What: Specifically, Rogue and Gambit have a good time in the rain. And other week shenanigans.
Warnings: Cute where it has no place being
Style: whatever
Status: Closed
The Stargazer is a humble little sailboat, enough room for three and right now they're at maximum capacity with an extra guest. Who is stuck on board for a week. While Gambit expects the Princess and Rogue to get along real good - he's not so sure about how the next seven days will pan out. They'll just have to find out...

Dat dey were ready t' do it. Maybe not have known it, or ever will, but dey were.
[He's asked himself that question sometimes. And has come to this conclusion. It sounds almost scripted, the way he explains it. Like it's been repeated before. Either to him or from him.]
Person like dat is needed sometimes.

[Her eyes don't leave the water she's still swirling. She's even started to make her own very miniature waterspout.
Quicker gestures with her hand and pulling up, so the wind not only twists but raises too.]
Th' one who does what th' others won'. Like the prof.
...Guess I always knew that's what I was gonna be.
[It's... It's strangely comforting. To know. To know that she can.]
Things Scott can' do. [He would be the first to come to mind. What he'd think of what she'd done.] Or Jean. [Miss Perfect with all her morals and superiority.] Or Kitty. [Too sweet. She'd probably be horrified.] Or Kurt.
Used t' have Evan around... but he ain' with us now.

[It comes easily. Repeating what he told her back in that train car.]
S'gonna happen fo' all of dem.
[Question is: Will you let it happen for yourself?]
no subject
[What can she say? She doesn't know what it's like in his head.]
Able t' come an' go as I please.
Don' 'magine Scott'd be too thrilled 'bout that, though.
[It's a small, faltering attempt at a kind of joke.]
no subject
[He is not a fan. For reasons. Totally valid ones.]
'Cept perhaps de stick up his ass.
no subject
[Defensive? Maybe a little. But he's one of hers, and... well. The whole crush thing.]
But lookin' after all of us? Falls on him.
He'd do anythin' t' protect any of us. ...Least I can do is make sure someone's willin' t' do th' same for him.
no subject
[He doesn't sound too convinced. His father never was wound that tight and he kept plenty of families safe.]
Do believe dat last bit.
[After all, Scott looked like he was going to rip him a new one once they found them in Louisiana.]
De first? No' so much.

Trying to explain to Wolverine and Scott about why she was there, why she hadn't bolted, and why she'd stepped in to help him in the end.
But they'd just been concerned about her.]
Jus' how he is.
Ain' anythin' wrong with that.
no subject
[He still has a stick up his ass.]
no subject
[That's her stance, and she's sticking to it.
Besides, he's here and Scott's not. Someone has to defend Scott.]
no subject
[Yes he's quoting himself, but he has a point.]
You ain' exactly alone often, chere.
[He sounds almost.....jealous.]
no subject
But she won't say that. Somehow, it doesn't seem quite right to say it. Not to him, at least. Somehow, it just... doesn't suit the conversation.]
Guess not.
oops i did it again.mp3
[Not that Remy has any room to talk.
And he is slightly hoping that Rogue will not remember enough from the few times they've touched to tell him so.]
No one saw anything~
It's a slightly sharp sound but not quite bitter.]
Military school brat, an' we all pay for it.
[She hates those mornings. So much.]
no subject
[He can't say he's surprised really but...]
no subject
An' the rest of 'em can barely throw a punch.
[Seriously. Training is suffering when trying to actually get them to do combat]
no subject
[He can attest to that!
After...throwing explosive cards at them. For money.]
no subject
[That look? That look is Unimpressed.
In the highest degree.]
So. Yeah. Evasion's their strong suit.
no subject
[What did he say?]
no subject
Jus'... y'know. Lotta responsibility t' protect 'em. [And it all primarily falls on Scott. So, sure, he's a little uptight. But that's okay.]
no subject
He doesn't really like talking about Scott this much with Rogue it turns out.]
Careful, chere, y'crush is showin'.
[...Okay so that was unnecessary.]
no subject
Y' followed me for weeks an' you're just now figurin' that out? Thought you were better at sniffin' things out than that, Gambit.
no subject
[He realizes how awful that sounds the instant he says it and is waiting for this conversation to be terminated.]
no subject
The idle toying with the water at the beck of the wind stops as she sits up. Her arms cross over her chest, and her shoulders hunch in a bit.
She's an X-Man. Talking to an Acolyte. Who knows her weaknesses. Who followed her for weeks. Who learned what to say to make her do exactly what he wanted. And who knows just where to shove the knife to remind her she's not good enough. And that she knows it.]
Guess I don'.
[But the tone's changed, a sharp defensiveness to it. A knife's edge ready to strike if he goes to make another wound.]
remy you ruin everything
Let y'know when there's dinner if y'want it.
yes he does. oh well, she'll repay it eventually
