You see nothing! It's not that sort of smile! It totally is. Nope, he definitely wasn't denying it, just trying to avoid the subject outright.
"As long as there's a water base..." Blood comes to mind. It is mostly made up of water. Ban decided better of mentioning it and he doubted the kid ever thought about that as a possible substance he might be able to manipulate. "There's a wide range of crest sizes for waves, but I would think it would take more exertion on your part to form one of those." Might be useful against an opposing ship though. "Not necessarily. Annual floods can be used to replenish nutrients into the soil. It's only dangerous if you're standing in the flood plain." So .. not full grown. He didn't look full grown but you never knew. "Then in time you might be able to pull off some bigger feats.."
Yeah, went to far with that flattery. "Now you're just being modest. I can honestly say I don't know anyone else that's able to do what you're capable of".
"The journal was mine.. the rest of this I'm not sure. It's not like I go rifling through everyone's rooms..." He nearly fell over when Lyrik called him out. "Irk-! Alright! Alright already!.. I doubt they'd have even missed them.." He hastily, and grumpily placed them back on the deck. "There. Are you happy now?" It was strange, and probably not apparent to Lyrik, but Ban found his personality refreshing. It kinda reminded him of someone he knew back home that at times had acted as his moral compass. Not being an openly sentimental person, he wasn't likely to ever mention this outloud. That optimism though.. and that desire to do the right thing.. and yeah the naivete and innocence was a part of that feeling too.
