Some days just don't go quite right.

In the Town Square, regarding the statue with its prophetic writings, stood an alicorn. She held her wings half-spread in a regal display state, and her horn shone with a golden light that mirrors the orb she's conjured to better throw the faded words on the statue into relief.

Between this and the journal, she could only guess what was afoot...

"...Have I stumbled into a Daring Do novel somehow?"

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the magic winged unicorn could talk. And did, to herself, it seemed.

"Pinkie? You mean... Pinkie Pie?"

Sorry, that off-hand mention had completely dominated her attention, perhaps understandably so.

"Yeah." He nodded. "She has balloons on her butt and we're going to Candy Mountain together." He blinked up at her. "Is she your friend?"

Celestia sat down right there, leaned her head back, and laughed. Of all the ponies, of course Pinkie Pie would be in the midst of this, and sounding just as normal, at least to hear it described!

"She is my subject," Celestia said when she at last recovered her bearings, "and though I suspect she has not mentioned it, a hero of Equestria."

He couldn't help but grin at her laugh, even though he didn't really get it, he figured that she and Pinkie were close. It was a nice laugh and a happy one and he couldn't help but like that kind of thing.

Subject was weird, but he figured she was some sort of queen and was about to ask when she said the second part.

"Eehh really?!" But she didn't have a cape or a mask or anything. "She didn't tell me." Boo. But that was okay. He slapped his fist into his palm. "I wonder if she knows Sogeking."

"She wouldn't have. I doubt it occurs to her to think of herself as anything particularly special, at least in those terms. I'm sure you've discovered by now that her talent for parties is certainly one-of-a-kind. May I ask where she is?"

Because frankly, Celestia had assumed that if Pinkie Pie was present anywhere in this world, she would have been awaiting the new arrivals with ribbons, streamers, and cake.

She was really fun in them and her picture parties were great but they'd had some pretty hard times lately so there hadn't been many of them. Luffy was itching for another party to happen soon, though. Especially now that he had his nakama back.

"I dunno where she is. Somewhere in town. But we're sleeping on the ship so if you can't find her today, you can come meet here there."

"I would like that." Particularly since Pinkie Pie, of all ponies, really cared nothing at all for the protocols and dignities of Celestia's own position. "She has been well, then? You are taking care of her, and she of you?"

He nodded. They hadn't been through much yet except for the storm but she was there and helped out and had fun, too.

"I'm taking her to see Candy Mountain, though I'm not sure when we're going to get there." Or even where it was. Because more important than that right now was giving Sanji something cool to look forward to. In the meantime, though.

"She's really good at skate swabbing. Have you ever done that?"

"That would be swabbing the deck of a ship by the use of brushes tied to the feet? I can't say I've had the pleasure." No, princesses rarely if ever did manual labor aboard ships, air or otherwise. Truthfully, Celestia believed it might be fun.

"You should try! It's really great!" he said with a grin. "You just have to make sure you don't fall overboard unless you can swim." He'd done that once or twice but he couldn't swim and usually whoever fished him out got mad and hit him on the head, but it was worth it.

He was getting kind of bored sitting around here, though, and kind of hungry. He patted his grumbling stomach.

"I'm gonna go get some meat on the bone. Need help finding anything?" He didn't know the town too much but he could point her to some cool places to get something to eat or maybe sleep if she needed it.

Oh. Humans, she should have realized, are not vegetarian. That was... interesting, if uncomfortable knowledge. Externally, though, she didn't so much as twitch a feather at this revelation.

"The truth is, I hardly know where to begin. But if you could direct me to that shop you indicated, the one that might hold books, I would be most grateful." She inclined her head and bowed slightly to signify that gratitude.
