This is not the vacation spot
Who: Hazmats Crew
Where: Musical Catfish Island
When: January, as far as we know.
What: went sailing looking for a place for Cynthia to enjoy vacation. Is this it? This might not be it.
Warnings: not likely
Style: as you please
Status: closed to Hazmats
Gan Ning might have been reading the map wrong as they headed west. Just a couple of days out from Isla Empieza they sighted land, which was really too early but...eh, land was land. And it looked inviting enough. Not too wintery all things considered. Might as well put in.
[this is our January catch-all log. They meant to sail somewhere for vacation and landed on the wrong island, and must now deal with very friendly but very annoying singing catfish. Whether you want to help Gan Ning unlock his shard or catch a show in the hollow interior of the island, make your threads and have fun!]

OTA
But there were holes. Holes just...everywhere.
Some hesitation went with the uncertainty he was feeling at this very moment, but he called out to the rest of his crew anyway.
"...Hey. Uuh. I don't know about you guys, but I don't think this is where we're suppose to be."
no subject
"...huh."
That...couldn't be right.
"Pretty sure the brochure said nothing about holes."
no subject
"You'd think they would've warned us about that," he replied sardonically, shifting his weight from one leg to the other. "Wasn't there suppose to be something else noticeable?"

He took a step and paused, looking down. "...a careful look around. You know, dragon-scouting sounds like the better idea. I'm not sure I wanna find out the hard way what's down these holes."
no subject
"Yyyyyeah, let's not go tumbling into the holes large enough to fall in!" He waved his left hand around, jabbing a finger in the air as he shrugged. "Lemme go get him, then. He's been itching for another flight."

He shot back an awkward grin at Gaius, quickly jogging the rest of the way toward the ship's ramp.

Smiling lopsidedly, Gaius started after him, although not without one more glance back as he heard the faint strains of music once again.
SHE'S ALIVE
But when she noticed the Nightfury dock in some island. Of course she wanted to find out where they were.
So imagine her surprise when the first thing she saw, when she stepped off the ship, was a group of human sized fish that guided her to take a seat on some rock then started singing to her.
How does one even react to that!?]

Gaius doesn't say anything however, because he's a bit flabbergasted by seeing the giant catfish. Thankfully it didn't seem like they had any intentions of eating Cynthia, although seeing them singing is just as bizarre.
Having tailed them, he now stands some several feet behind Cynthia, arms folded as he watches the singing fish.]
...they're not bad, huh.

Well, if that happens, we do have two dragons with a particular diet.

[She watches as the fish take their bows before disappearing into some random hole in the ground. What even?]
Hopefully I didn't miss anything.
no subject
[He smiles crookedly, looking back at the catfish.]
....only Jingles apparently taking a wrong turn somewhere, because this sure isn't the place we had in mind.

[She kneels down to take a closer look at one of the holes. See the sparkle in her eye? You know that can never be a good thing.]
no subject
[Yeah, he's eying you there, Cynthia.]

[You might find her singing on shore with a quartet of fish singers. Some version of this song might even be heard. Or just singing in general.]
[She's ecstatic! She's laughing or singing and having a good time with the fish people. Come join her, or lets go find a hole and fall into it and watch a show, or just come hear her sing, because though she does sing to herself on the ship, she hasn't done it as loudly or proudly as she does here.]
[For the most part she keeps dry, to keep her legs, so she's walking around the island a lot too. Run into her.]
no subject
He hasn't wandered too far from where they'd docked, the ship still in sight, but even giant catfish can't keep a curious dragon from poking about. His head was practically halfway down one of the large holes as he sniffed about, wondering just how far it went, but at the sound of singing- and a familiar voice doing it at that, Toothless brings his head back up to look around for his mermaid friend.]
no subject
[Her legs are dry and under a long white skirt, feet in shoes for a change, though her toes touched in towards each other.]
[When they finished a song, she giggled happily, talking to the fish folk.]
Thank you! That was so much fun! You have no idea how long it's been since I was around my friends back home. We'd sing all the time.
[IF Toothless was peeking around at them, he might see one girl fish catch his eye and let out a bubbled yelp sound! Fin to her chest, as if startled by him]

[Then to the lady fish she said]
He's a friend. He wont try to eat you! Will you, Toothless?
[The lady fish seemed unsure. The younger one is leaning forward looking interested in this other sea folk]
no subject
He looks at the fish people accompanying her. Well, he supposes it wouldn't be nice to eat her friends.]
OTA
He is, at least, enjoying the slightly warmer weather and the chance to take his coat off for lengthy periods of time.]
no subject
[She seems alright, other then the scrapped knees and bruised elbow. Oh look, she has shoes on for a change. When she goes to shore she generally does at least. But she stayed where she landed, giggling. From the hole a fish person peeked out, asked if she was okay, then meeped, and ducked back inside, dashing away after seeing the other Pirate.]
[Ariel looked up at the hole, confused to the fast dash is all. Until she saw Gan Ning]
Captain Xingba! [She called with a happy wave, moving to stumble to her feet. Someones enjoying his mistake]
no subject
[that was an amusing and cute sight. He can't help but stop and fold his arms, grinning a little.]
Did'ja fall in or somethin'?
HEHEHEHE
The moment she left the boat, a group of catfish caught her off guard and started singing to her. A little disturbing, yes. But once the initial surprise faded, she couldn't think of anything better than to have these guys go bother her captain.
She asked them to sing something sexy and very inappropriate while she hid behind a tree. This is what they came up with.]
no subject
What is this even.]
Huh? Get off, I ain't into fish!
[aiming a kick at the nearest one]
no subject
and laugh, and laugh, and laugh.]
no subject
DAMMIT ALL TO HELL, WOMAN! You did this, didn't you?
[storming her way, bells JANGLING the whole way]
no subject
no subject
You think it's funny, huh? HUH?
no subject
Yes, oh arceus that was better than that time with the poots on Tartle.
no subject
[he's still annoyed but he won't be for long. No harm done, after all, not even to the singing catfish-people]
You need a new hobby, Cyn.
