Intro Log: April 2015

WELCOME NEW CHARACTERS!
Have an intro log for the month of April!

Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around April 9th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.

Spring has arrived in Empieza! The days are cool and occasional thunderstorms growl through the night. If the citizens of Empieza seem more anxious than usual, it's because of the pirates that aggressively roam the streets, hunting for fresh meat -- either for shanghaiing or sport. If you don't wish to be coerced to sail under the flag of Ammon the Bloody, it's best to stay out of their way.

Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.

Why would the navy give a ship to pirates?

[That doesn't make a great deal of sense. It takes a second to sink in what it might mean.]

Did you steal a ship from the navy?! They'll have your heads for that, won't they?!

[No one takes kindly to pirates. He knows that there are pirates that aren't horrible villains like out of adventure stories, of course, but that doesn't change the fact that piracy is illegal.]

Weeell...they'd still be after our heads even if he didn't do anything illegal. Plus my captain and his first mate are slightly boneheaded and enjoy stealing ships whenever they feel we need a new one. Luckily they don't always feel we need a new one so this is just our third ship.

But as a new comer yourself, the navy would target you sooner or later. So might as well join a powerful crew now...while she's offering.

Why are they targeting outsiders? Wouldn't it be wiser to try to find a way to send us back?

[It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to him, but he's well aware that politics doesn't always involve the wisest decisions. He's just come from a very important summit that achieved more or less nothing because of the egos involved, after all.]

Well kid, understand that there is a way to send us all back. We all know it, we're ll working towards it. But, it's possible that they don't like us because, by working to find a way home, we're also...kinda working for Jones. I find it best to just not question the logic of this world. Pretty much everything here doesn't make sense anyway.

[He's really going to have to figure out who or what this Davy Jones is. Everything seems to revolve around him, but no one seems to be able to explain adequately what he is or what he can do. It truly does sound to Titus like some strange sort of Dungeon and the more people talk about it, the more that theory is reinforced. It would make sense, too, for the people of this world to be working against them trying to reach Jones if that's the case.]

I think I have a way to make sense of it, but it's going to take some investigating!
