WELCOME NEW CHARACTERS!
Have an intro log for the month of April!

Who: Any and all new characters, as well as anyone hanging out on or around Isla Empieza!
Where: Near the fountain in the town center.
When: New characters will arrive around April 9th! The log is good for as long as you need it.
What: You've just been dropped on your head in a weird new world. Time to figure out what the heck is going on!
Status: VERY OPEN.

Spring has arrived in Empieza! The days are cool and occasional thunderstorms growl through the night. If the citizens of Empieza seem more anxious than usual, it's because of the pirates that aggressively roam the streets, hunting for fresh meat -- either for shanghaiing or sport. If you don't wish to be coerced to sail under the flag of Ammon the Bloody, it's best to stay out of their way.

Feel free to throw your characters here if you need a place for them to get situated and start figuring things out! Start new threads, tag into others, meet the people who might just become part of your crew! Older characters will be in and out, too, depending who is on the island at the current time.

[Did that man just eat a figurine? Surely that can't be good for his teeth.]

[His teeth are fine. He flashes a smile, showing sharp canines, as he finishes eating the figurine and buys a bunch more.]

Any one offer yet? If not, I think the HazMats might be a good fit. We have a bunch of magic users.

[He brightens immediately at that. That would definitely make his life easier!

Then he sobers up a little. There's an important thing he needs to take into consideration if he's going to choose a crew. He pulls out his journal and opens it to the entry he made.]

This man...is he on your crew?

[He points to the conversation he had with Marco. It's very important that he not be on a ship with that man.]

[Sting frowns as he reads the entry. For all he's convinced is too set in how his world's Magic works, he can't help but feel that in this case, he might be right. "Fate" doesn't play a big part in his world, and mostly thinks Marco is right in saying love is what holds the world together, not fate. But still this line of questions bothers Sting]

No, Marco's captain of the Spades. He and my captain don't get along, but his son is part of our crew.

[Well, it's good that they don't get along. That's a point in their favor. However...]

His son? Why doesn't he sail with his father?

[That's an equally important question. If they have their differences and have chosen to follow different crews, that's one thing, but considering how Titus' own "mother" used him as her spy, he can't help but be suspicious of what might be a similar arrangement.]

It was something to do with Roxas', that's his son, boyfriend I think. They didn't get along.

But don't say anything about it, Roxas is still torn up about Lea disappearing.

Oh! I talked to Roxas...

[He didn't act like a dangerous crazy person bent on destroying the world in any way. So there was hope there, at least.]

I can quite understand why someone wouldn't get along with Marco, though. These beliefs of his are very, very dangerous. I can't stress enough how dangerous they are.

Well, to be honest, I don't disagree with everything he said. "Fate" isn't really given much thought in my world. But I do agree he has some dangerous thoughts rolling around his head.

[Titus frowns. He may be new at this whole Magi thing, but this at least is a concept he understands. He almost Fell once, so he knows what it feels like to curse your fate, but he also knows what it is to accept it and how different the flow of the world can be when you make that choice.]

He doesn't understand what fate is. Or if he does, he's choosing to bring destruction to his world and maybe even others out of his own selfishness.

Hmmm... [Sting's quiet for a moment, thinking. "Fate" sounds like BS to him, but destroying the world? For a few lost friends? That's not cool. Sting understands Nakama, and understands the pain of loosing loved ones, but this... this is too much.]

I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on the concept of fate and how important it is. But you're right, what Marco's doing should be stopped. I really think we should to my captain and tell him.

[Titus nods at that. He doesn't really know anything about Sting's captain, but the more people in authority who know and understand the danger, the better. The specter of the what happened in Magnostadt hangs heavily over him. He's unlikely to ever forget what happened there.]

I can explain it to anyone who will listen. I thought about using the journal for it right away, but it would catch his attention too quickly.

[He's naive about a great many things, but Aladdin and Sphintus have taught him to be sneaky. The three of them aren't good at it, but he's got the basic concept down, at least.]

While we're there we can see if the Nightfury would be a good fit for you. Like I said there's a fair bit of magic users; me, Draco, and Roxas, it would be fun to compare notes.

[He kind of hopes whoever Draco is has a better grasp of things than Sting and Roxas do.]

Okay! I don't really have any luggage, so I can depart whenever your ship does!

[He supposes he should probably buy some clothes, at the very least, but that isn't something he necessarily has to worry about right away.]

[He probably won't, be prepared to be disappointed]

We've got time. Let's get you some clothes and other stuff before we leave.

Okay! I've never bought my own clothes before! Do they just give them to you? What if they don't fit? Will we have to have them tailored before we leave?

[So many questions. One would think that he would question whether Sting is really the best person to help him buy clothes, but that would mean that one hasn't seen how Titus tends to dress when he's not trying to copy his mother.]

That depends on where you get them. Some places have pre-made clothes that you can try stuff on before buying them.

Pre-made? How do they know how big to make them?

[He's never had to buy his own clothes before. They're usually just given to him. He's hired tailors for Marga, too, but he's never actually gone to a store to buy clothing. So many new things he's learning today!]

It's kinda of generic size thing. You just go with what feels comfortable.
