*Selphie blinks up at him with her good eye, confusion adding to the fearful expression on her face. She doesn't understand why he's being so gentle with her - surely she'd been seen as hindrance to the crew. Just look at all the trouble she's got them in. Unable to speak, Selphie just bows her head in a kind of half nod. On top of everything she'd been through, she feels like she will be able to bear some heat*

[With that, Ace pulled the chains away from Selphie and dumped them on the ground, just so she could at least rest a moment without them scraping her anymore. Breathing in slow, Ace collected all of his flames into his right hand, steadying himself a moment. Shots fired, bullets tearing holes in his body left and right, but none of them bled. Flames wept where he should have been bleeding even more than he already was.

Ace threw his fiery fist forward, a great white flame streaking across the base and blowing apart a third of the pavilion below. People were hurled in all directions, burning and screaming. Ace, his hand still ignited, watched. In most of his fights, he could be considered 'gentle' in comparison to the way he was at the moment.
