A pause.

"Hang on. You speak avian? Don't tell Thatch, he'll be crushed. He took ages to learn, yoi. What kind of tea would you like?"

"Residual TARDIS energy. Basically you're speaking avian and I'm speaking Gallifreyan, but we understand one another. And yeah, I do speak bird anyway. As for tea. Earl Grey if you please."

"Earl Grey not a problem," Marco poked the doctor with a claw. "You know it's one thing not to get a response from my brothers because they're so used to this, but come on, you really think magnets are more interesting than fiery blue phoenix feathers? I'm hurt, yoi."

He's not really, he's actually mildly amused, but it's Marco, nothing will stop him from deadpanning.

"And you think you're unique? Hah, no offense Marco but I've seen much, much stranger things than you. As...odd as you are."

He can't help but smile, though.

Marco just gives him an annoyed feathery headbutt. "Do they all sparkle too?" Because really, that's just unfair, even if he is still quite amused and joking around.

"No, most things don't really sparkle quite like you do."

Marco you are weird.

"So I am clearly way more awesome, I see, I see, yoi," the phoenix declared and quietly preened his feathers.

Yes, Marco is very weird. "Be right back with that tea." He hopped off to head into the galley.
