[Ace let Namur nudge him, his head tilting at a weird angle for awhile as he followed the chalk with his eyes. A little smile snuck onto his face, pulling him away from his small worries for the moment. Namur's faith helped him quite a bit.

Still, he plucked the chalk back so he could start drawing a little turkey next to Marco's name.]

Yeah, that sounds good to me. 'Specially since you're more patient than Thatch. I think he needs a break from teenagers, huh?

[He plopped the chalk back in Namur's hand for the moment.]

'Course, it can't just be lessons. Though, we can get to that later, since I gotta ask you--

Think we should be gettin' another boat? It's gettin' a little tight here--not that it's an issue for me, but the crew seems a little on the uncomfortable side. Not many of 'em are used to sharin' a lotta bunks.

Want room t' grow or is this gonna be us for a bit? Smaller ship's easier for the rookies t' learn shit. But if we're gonna be addin' t' the crew all the time it ain't bad t' have room. Don't think a second ship's a good idea 'til these smolts know what the hell they're doin', catch me? Course, if y' want 'em t' learn how t' live on top a each other they ain't gonna do that 'less they have t'.

[Most helpful. Namur draws a fireball with a happy face by Ace's name. Then he gives it a mustache.]

Don't think there's a right or wrong on this'n. Jus' gotta decide what's most important t' y' right now, an' what shit we can put off dealin' with 'til later.

Probably for us. [For the two grumpy guys, especially. Thatch and Marco seemed to have more patience than Ace did at times, but other times they were just as impatient and irritable as he was.

It was probably why they got along so well. Fortunately though, Namur was easier to talk to simply because he didn't wear the same sort of goggles the older guys did.]

Hrmmm. [Thoughtlessly, Ace smudged away the mustache from his picture. Namur was joking, so he didn't get angry even for a moment.]

We could switch from time to time. Swap crew members in an out. It'll break in the new ship for the common mistakes and lost riggings and still give us a chance to keep it from falling apart.

[Normally the learning curve wasn't bad for most pirates, but Ace didn't have to be broken into those things. He was a naturally good sailor and by merit, he was too excited to learn to wait around like his current crew did.]

If that's how y' wanna do it, let's do it.

[Ironically, he's a few months older than Thatch. Or was. How did that all work, anyway?]

Got money or are we acquirin' it as we sail out a town?

Actually, for the moment we're pretty loaded. I snuck out--[Tossed.] a Navy ship before you got here and I unloaded its supplies to sell after the battle. Everyone had their supplies messed with as the Navy was leaving, so I made a killing!

[He could have done better, too, had he real experience in trading.]

I could buy a whole new ship outright. I just wanna make sure, if we get one, it's good enough for us.

[Namur punches Ace's shoulder, though without much force.]

Well, I can check out keels an' shit if there's one or two y' got yer eyes on. Ain't gonna be too good 'bout pickin' out the rest. They got a place that sells 'em 'round here, don't they?

Sounds like a plan, then. If anythin', I don't think the shipwrights down at the pier are gonna expect a fishman to help investigate the ship.

[Ace grinned, gesturing over his shoulder with his thumb.]

Since you could check the bottom of the ship to see if they're tryin' to screw us.

And--yeah, there's a plaza not too far away with a house for selling ships.

Tell me when y' wanna go an' we'll go. Ain't like I got anythin' doin' 'round here. Least not 'til people learn I ain't gonna eat 'em or some shit.

Not right away. I think I'll have everybody do a lil' bit of upkeep while everyone recovers from the last big fight we had.

I'm still finishin' up a few repairs on the ship. [Well, waiting for things to dry, anyway. Stuff that didn't hinder them from sailing, either.]

[Namur salutes and lets that motion flow into a point and a wink.]

Whatever y' say, Captainbro. Got a fishin' net hangin' 'round? Fish're comin' back now the noise ain't shakin' 'em int' oblivion. Can start bringin' a bunch in for the crew.

Yeah, there's one hangin' off the rail, port-side. I drew it a day or so ago, but we've been tearin' through food with Luffy in Empieza with it.

[Admittedly, Ace was always the biggest danger, since he was around all the time.]

It's a nice one, too. It's a shiny woven rope net, so it'll draw the fish right in! Tons of cool stuff like that shows up in the shops, here.

Sheheh usually I jus' tell 'em t' get in the net an' they go. Fish're pretty stupid that way. Tell Thatch t' get a good set a filletin' knives, he's gonna need a couple people helpin' 'im clean from here on out.

We've got a freshly sharpened set in the supply room. Given the last haul, I spent plenty of time with 'em, so I knew they had to be prepped for later.

[Though, even Ace knew Namur would probably want to sharpen them again.

It was best to do that right before working with them, anyway.]

[Namur doesn't bother cleaning fish. He just eats them straight out of the sea, alive and wiggling. Whatever he brings back to the ship is for everyone else. Namur only eats with the crew to be social, and even then it's less eating and more drinking.]

Cool.

[He plops his arm over Ace's shoulders again.]

Sounds like yer pretty well set up then. Still feelin' stressed?

Ugh, yeah. Not for this, though.

[He paused, looking a little bit uneasy.]

All my ideas for tattoos are bad, I think. Or, they're too elaborate.

...Or, I'm just bad at drawing.

[He claps Ace on the back.] C'mon, let's go get some markers an' see what badass shit we bust out.
