[That's true enough, there are things to do but it's nothing like that. This is really closer to a vacation, Roxas can't help but think.]

I've met her, I think. That name sounds familiar. Everyone's been really nice. It was good, even though it was really really cold. Were you cold? Lea said it was magic, and he couldn't fix it, but he hugged me and it got warmer, so it was good.

[He grins, almost mischievous.]

I liked that, so sometimes I still sneak up and hug him.

[He laughs.]

Yeah, I'd be surprised if you hadn't met her, by now. [Regarding the cold.] Yeah, I did get cold. But uh...Riku and Kairi managed to help with that.

[He grins a bit at the mention of Lea getting surprise hugs.] Yeah? How's that go?

It's really good! He always sighs at me though, 'cause he's like that. That's nothing new.

[Roxas grins and shrugs. Lea will always be the same it seems like, whether he's Lea or Axel or whatever he wants to be called.]

I met Kairi too! I've met lots of people. There's a lot of people around here. There were a lot of people in the Organization too, but most of them were pretty boring. They didn't want to be friends or anything, just Axel.

[He laughs.] Some people are just like that.

[Sora tilts his head a bit, smile in place.]

Oh, uh...yeah. [Roxas, you already said that...right? Sora's blinking a couple of times, appearing to momentarily question something. Still, he doesn't say anything regarding the fact that Roxas has already mentioned meeting Kairi. It's no big deal, right?]

I'm glad you had Axel as your friend. [He genuinely means that, too. Having a best friend always makes everything better.]

[It's really best to ignore that kind of thing, Roxas tends to slip up from time to time.]

Me too. He's a really good friend, most of the time. I didn't like him so much when we were fighting but we made up and it's all okay now. He's really smart you know, he knows everything! Even stupid stuff I don't care about.

[Unfortunately, he might point it out, if he happens to notice it happening often. Sora isn't shy to question certain things.

To the part about Lea knowing stupid stuff, Sora blinks.]

Hm? Stuff like what?

Hang on here...

[He has to think about what Lea said, because he really didn't think it was important at the time.]

Why the sun sets red! I think he said it's because the red light travels further? I don't know. Nobody asked him that.

Oh yeah? ...I think...I've heard that one, before. [Appears to think on it.

Nah, must be his imagination.] That is pretty cool--that there's a color that can travel further than all the others. But that is a pretty random thing to say without being asked. [Laughs.]

...Well, anyway. [Half gestures towards the sea with one of the cookies, before taking a bite.] As fun as it is to travel on a ship, I've gotta say I'm getting a little sick of looking at water all the time. I kind of...really miss being able to travel by Gummi Ship...and see all the different worlds...y'know?

Lea knows everything! [Well not quite, but it seems like it to Roxas.]

I guess so, I don't know. I always used to use the black gates to go places and I wasn't really allowed to explore them much. It might be fun to do that though.

Everything, huh? [Well, that's kind of how he sees Riku, so.]

Black gates? [Whuzzat?] ...Why weren't you allowed to? Was there some kind of secret involved? [Grins a bit, because he's kind of joking. Somewhat. Maybe.]

[Roxas shakes his head.]

No, we just weren't allowed to go anywhere outside of our mission. Really I think even the clock tower was pushing it, Saix probably would have been annoyed if he knew about it. There were these walls up so we could just go where the Heartless were.

[Even for the members of the Organization, it wasn't that great.]

...I see. That sounds pretty...strict, actually. I always assumed you guys could pretty much do whatever you wanted.

[He had no idea the rules were that stringent.]

[Roxas shakes his head.]

No, and in the time I was there I only had one day off, I think. Every day, Saix was on me to get my missions done. He was really annoying about it too, always saying it's what Xemnas wanted.

Wow...[He frowns.]

Well, at least you don't have to worry about that, anymore, right? You're here with friends, now! The only work you'll have to do...is the same type of work everyone else is doing!

[Roxas thinks about that.]

I guess I don't really know what everyone else was doing. I had a specific purpose after all.

[Many of his memories are locked away because of who's in them and all he can do is shrug.]

There's not as much work to do here...and there's lots of people, so it's a lot of fun. I didn't know people could be so much fun. I wasn't really supposed to talk to people I don't think. Axel told me about them though!

[Summons the Keyblade just for a second, then lets it spark back into his being.] ...I think that was the one thing that kept me going after being chosen for using this--meeting all the people and helping them with...whatever they needed help with. It gave me a reason to keep going.

Maybe...it was a little selfish in a way. Doing nice things for people just because it made me feel good, I mean.

[He pauses and decides to get off of that subject asap.] What kinds of things did he tell you about them?

[He stares at Sora, tilting his head a little. He's never really had the desire to help other people. Axel maybe, sure, if he needed help, but he didn't really.

He never felt that good about what he was doing either. Maybe that was why.]

Lots of things! Axel, I mean, Lea's really smart. He knows everything! He told me they have summer vacations for a whole month, can you even believe that? And they go to the beach and they eat sea salt ice cream too, just like we do, and they like to make friends and play all day!

[He nods.]

I see... [He tilted his head to the side and stared up at the sky for a moment.]

Wonder where he learned all that. Did he go to school at some point?

Maybe he did before he became Axel. I never asked him. He knew about homework though!

[He tilts his head.]

Did you go to school Sora?

Hey, maybe he did! [He laughs, then blinks.]

Uh...yeah. I did--on the main island with Riku, Kairi, Selphie, Wakka, and Tidus.

[He gives Sora a curious look.]

What was it like?

It was a lot of fun, actually. We always had a lot of homework...but...I sometimes didn't do it. [Sheepish laugh.] Kairi and Riku were better at that kind of thing, I think. I dunno, I guess I did okay with school. Wakka and Tidus were always more worried about getting back to our island to practice more blitzball. And Selphie was always daydreaming about romance.

[His expression softens.]

Looking back, I think I took everything for granted. It felt like we did the same thing, every day. But...I really miss that, now.
