It was on their way back that she spotted Asami... working on her moped. She still thought it was kinda crazy that she would even try to keep it with her, but... Korra supposed she couldn't really understand.]
Hey, Asami! [Her sleepiness was evident in her voice as she leaned against the other girl's door frame.]

Hey there. I didn't think you'd be up this early. [Not that it was all that early, but still, she was living in the Air Temple long enough with the others to know how late everyone slept] Are you taking Naga for a walk?
no subject
Yeah, she- [yaaawwwn] -she'll pee all over my room if I don't take her out. And I'm trying to follow Tenzin's schedule he had me on back during Air training, but... [She made a snorting sound. Like that was ever going to happen.]

and parka moped. But yes, she was fully aware Korra had been through a lot. Being the Avatar and everything, she had the whole fate of the world weighing in on her shoulders and that was more than anything Asami ever experienced, even with her own father going crazy]Well what did he have you do everyday? I might not be spiritual leader, but maybe I can still try to help out.
[She walked over and started to pet Naga on the head]
no subject
It's mostly the whole "get up at crack of dawn" part. [She stretched her arms over her head as Naga hopped over to Asami. The pup was much more enthused by someone who was actually more than half awake.]
Sometimes I could slip in a nap during meditation, but that was about it.
no subject
[Asami let out a small chuckle] I don't think that's how meditation is suppose to work. [No, she knew it wasn't. Asami was trying to hide the amusement in her voice as she continued to pet Naga, but that wasn't working very well. Really, all her friends were big dorks]
Maybe try to find something to keep yourself occupied and alert, like a distraction? That always helps me.
[Something that didn't involve sabotaging vehicles. Or taking Naga out, because that didn't seem to be helping Korra much either]
no subject
BUT HEY, I HEAR THAT'S A GREAT METHOD OF PICKING UP MEN!!]
Neither did I, until I had to do it for an hour or so every morning.
[Yeah, Asami, you really are befriending nothing but dorks, aren't you? What would they do without your sensible head around?]
Sometimes I'll go out swimming! The water's kinda cold out here, but I heat up and dry easily.
no subject
I, well...
[Ah, nevermind. She will embrace you dorks, because you all are too much fun to be around and that's good enough for her]
Swimming? That...actually sounds like a great way to pass the time. It's been a while since I've actually gone.
[She probably would have swam by now if there was a sure way to get back on the ship easily. But alas, she wasn't a waterbender and bringing a smaller boat down there sounded like a pain]
no subject
Get arrested in the process??]It might be a little choppy for a non-waterbender. [Korra had to admit that. 'Might' meaning 'definitely.'] Maybe we can find an island with a pond or a river! I mostly just go out to wake up. It isn't exactly relaxing.
no subject
AND DOUBLE YES.This so needs to happen.Asami's eyes briefly darted out to the ocean]
That's true. [Definitely for sure] Do you think everyone else would be on board?
no subject
[Finally waking up some, Korra settled on the wooden floor and took a look at Asami's moped. All those little bits and bobs that she didn't even begin to understand.]
no subject
[With half the crew missing and everything. But Roxas and Aya did come back, so there was high hope the others would now. When Korra sat down to look at the moped, Asami knelt down close by]
Unless you would rather learn how to how to take one of these apart.
[That might have been a joke]
no subject
That... might not be a good idea.
[She tipped herself at a different angle as she sat, trying to get another perspective on the workings of the moped. It didn't make a bit of sense to her.]
I'm kinda curious, though...
[Korra began poking around a bit. With... the seat.]
no subject
[That wasn't really true. Okay...so maybe going straight to the basics would be easier]
You know how it works, don't you?
no subject
["Pretty much" meaning "entirely." At least she's moved on from inspecting the seat.]
I did check out that car we used back during the Equalist uprising! But... you know what happened to that.
no subject
Then I'll show you how to start up the moped first. [She motioned with her hand] If you want I can teach you to drive it too.
I'm sorry I have been so slooowwww
I'm sure I can start it! There's an ignition key like a car, right?
[And now she's looking for it.]
S'okay! <3
Right here. And one of the brakes is down here where you put your feet, it's...similar to a car in some ways.
[And very different in others]
:'D
[At least Korra's not dumb enough to start the thing here and now. Because yes, she will go straight through a wall. Or even better, straight off the ship.]
no subject
[Asami then set it up so the moped would remain parked, so if Korra really wanted to she could twist the handle. She revved the engine anyway to show her]
no subject
The next time we're at an island with roads...
[She turned to raise her eyebrows at Asami, letting her fill in the blanks. Bad idea? Yup. But nobody ever said bad ideas weren't inherently fun ideas.
Which, spoilers. They are.]
no subject
Maybe Asami wasn't the type to actively go looking for trouble, but having some fun every now and then never hurt anyone.
Except when it did. Like it probably will this time]
Next island? You wanna take it for a spin? [.....] I'll drive first, but you can hop on the back.
no subject
You bet! I'm... not going to argue with you driving first. Given what happened the with the car...
[Which, in hindsight, is kind of funny. Not that Republic City isn't in the middle of a bloody revolution.]
