I--[Of course he's focused on Kaoru. What kind of statement is that supposed to be? He's been trying to branch out a bit more, to make it obvious that he's taking what Kaoru said back home seriously; he doesn't want to give reason for his twin to start another fight between them. If it were entirely up to him, he would still be with Kaoru right now, and wouldn't leave his twin's side until they were both safe back home.

He's not 100% on why Kaoru would seem lonely - if it were him, he would have stopped feeling that the moment Kaoru arrived. It's not like he's incredibly dependent on their family, who they hardly see anyway, and the only other people he cares about are here for the most part. (Once Hani and Mori arrive, it'll like nothing's missing at all.)

...but he has a hunch, and it has everything to do with the things Kaoru said to him back home. He's not going to tell Haruhi, though. That's personal, private stuff between he and his twin. He's not even sure if Kaoru is actually seeming lonely here.]

...He's just wrong about a lot of stuff.

[At least thinking about Kaoru made him stop feeling warm fuzzies for Haruhi.]
