Friends are the family you choose
Who: Antoinette crew and others (mostly non-combatants who have joined temporarily)
Where: The Antoinette
When: Jan 20th-28thish
What: Crew shenanigans, both light-hearted and serious, while the rest of the ships prepare for and do battle with the witch.
Warnings: Possible strong language, will amend as necessary
Status: Open to those on the Antoinete
The Antoinette is a strange ship to be on. The (wise) decision was made not to go into battle, so it has been offered as a safe haven for those unable or unwilling to join the fight against the witch.
The air of light-heartedness found might, at times, feel forced, and it is a bit. The residents have only their morale to keep them going, so that's what they rely upon.
(Please feel free to either reply to the subject headers provided or make your own! This is just a general mingle log for anyone on the Antoinette. If your character is a non-combatant who wouldn't want to go into the fight or someone injured and unable to join the fight, Kyouya has publicly offered passage, so feel free to handwave being there.

Keep in mind that she is looking far more like a boy than she did when she arrived. The clothes she chose are incredibly gender neutral and she doesn't have many feminine curves to begin with.]

This world is unpredictable. People come and go, people get hurt. So, it's increasingly important to pick up skills he didn't have before.
Which is why Kyouya Otori gives a slight sort of bow before he says:] How can I help?
no subject
None of these are complicated, which is good. You won't have to think much if you're cooking again after a long day.

Kyouya's hair wasn't brown though. He was still hiding behind the door but he called out. "Haruhi?" She was going to cook for them. She was going to cook for him.

Where…
"Why are you hiding?"
He was so weird. Maybe he was hungry?
"Do you want a taste?" she dipped a spoon into the stew and held it out, "Be careful, it's hot."

GENERAL
On Deck - OTA
So he did what any bored child with a sharp sword strapped to his back would do. He started carving pictures into the wood of the deck.]

[His voice is stern, and his arms are crossed over his chest.]
Or tomorrow morning. Whichever comes first.
[And he damn well means it, too. Because if the wood is exposed, rot could set in. He's learned that much. Keep it clean, keep it painted and protected.]

Link knew the other man was there. He was aware of his approach and currently very aware of his shadow blocking his light. He didn't need much, but when he was already sitting awkwardly because of the broken leg, it was fairly annoying.
Link looked up and spoke in his soft voice.]
Please move to the side, Mister.

Whitwashing the fence is fun - OTA
[Link sat on the deck, quietly and studiously painting the railing. He'd started the day before, but he could only get so far before night fall. The first thing he'd done that morning was to paint over the carving he'd made exactly as instructed to. The rest of the day was spent painting without break, Link scooting himself a few feet along once the spot he was in front of was done.
Anyone watching him might be able to notice the way his body involuntarily stiffened when Kyouya came anywhere near him for any reason. Almost flinching, but not quite that pronounced.]

He noticed the changes in Link that morning. He wanted to approach Link right away, but he didn't want people to notice them too much or get distracted. This was a private matter, which Tamaki shouldn't have witnessed in the first place. He didn't want to get his first mate in trouble.
So when no one was on deck, Tamaki approached link and gave him a short smile. The same smile that met him during their first meeting.]
Could I see you in my quarters?
no subject
I have to paint the railing.
[He didn't want to get in trouble by stopping what Kyouya had told him to do.]

A Barrel of Fun
To that end, he's currently trying to find Kaoru, Haruhi, and Kyouya. He's told Tamaki that he was going to fetch blankets for the commoner's barrel in order to get out of doing any actual work on it, so he has a lot of time to kill.
He'll be radiating an aura of absolute amusement, and it will probably be easy for any of the Host Club to guess that the cause is something he's done to Tamaki.]
no subject
How could anything not be, right now? [He mutters, assuming she's talking about the general everything. Man, he has a very, very long list of things that he hates about this place and that irk him every moment of every day.
He glances at her out of the corner of his eye, then puts down his knife and leans back to look at her properly.]
You can't tell me you're unaffected by all this?
['All this' meaning 'being transported to a weird pirate world where Tono seriously talks about murders and Kyouya seems to be the only thing standing between them and disaster'.]
no subject
Then he notices Haruhi talking to Hikaru whilst working on the barrel.]
Haru~hi..

I am affected. Just like everyone else. But I know we can't fight this - no matter how upset we are.
[She pauses in her own carving - a nice and simple daisy flower - and meets his gaze unflinchingly.]
As long as we're together, I'll be okay.
