Since the business with the witch, the Shepherd has been docked in Isle Impieze, as they work to sort out the repercussions of these events.

... There's different kinds of love, Regina. And... even if they're different, they're no less important to me...

[she hugged Regina as tightly as she could, now]

I love you with all my heart, Regina. I would do anything for you. I would go through anything to see you safe, to see you happy. The idea of you suffering makes my heart feel empty...

... but... it's not the same kind of love I have for Rikka and Alice... That's the kind of love where... you can see yourself marrying them one day...

[by now, Mana was crying, her tears falling down onto Regina's shoulders]

I don't know how to express just what it is you and I have, Regina. It's somewhere between family and the best of friends... and... I'm sorry if that's not what you want me to be...

[ Oh... Oh! Oh! So... Mana was with Alice and Rikka. With with. For some reason, that caused her chest to tighten up. She could feel it in her heart.

But right now, Mana was crying.

Regina wrapped her arms around her friend's shoulders, trying to be comforting. ]

Don't cry.

I don't want you to be anything. I just want you to be Mana.

See? I'm not sad. So you have no reason to be sad, either. [ She puts on her best smiling face for Mana here.

Except there are still tears in her eyes, and she's not quite sure why. ]

I'll always be here. Even... even if doing this makes you hate me, Regina...

[she hugged Regina even tighter]

But you can still come to me. We can still play together. Laugh. Share together. I'll never stop caring about you, Regina...

[Mana pulled back, and saw the tears in Regina's eyes. Without another word, she began to brush them away, quietly]

[ Except, you know, it kind of does. For reasons Regina can't quite pinpoint. But, more importantly... ]

Does this mean you're not going to hang out with me as much?

What? No... no, of course not. I'd be splitting my time between everyone anyway... the only difference is, there would be things I can do with them that I can't do with you...

[she took a deep breath]

That.. might sound like something some who is naive might say, but... I don't intend to shut you out or let there be any distance between us. Just... as long as we both know where things begin and end, it's going to be alright...

[she smiled now, looking more confident]

I'm Aida Mana, remember? I can do anything. And you're worth it, Regina, because... you're important to me.

Then everything's fine! [ Right? Right!

Or so Regina tells herself. ]

[Mana wasn't fully convinced... but as long as Regina could smile right now, it seemed like that was enough]

Alright... let's get back to finishing those dishes now, hm? I bet you I can finish mine before you can finish yours~
