Status: Mostly open, some sections closed to crew members

Loans have been issued, furniture has been supplied, and food had been bought.

The deck of the Antoinette is plainly decorated. There are a few rugs about, but, for the most part, small tables are arranged with couches and chairs. Platters of food are waiting, mostly sandwiches and sweets. Little snacks. There's plenty of hot water kept on hand, too, for tea or commoner's instant coffee.

The Host Club are looking their best, even though their best might be a little more ragged than they would otherwise appear.

Posters have been put up around town, advertising the opening of the Royal Host Club, specifying the Antoinette's location, and disclosing the offer of refreshments.

On the 13th, things will only get more interesting when a bowl of candy appears overnight and adds to the Host Club experience.

THE HOSTS

If there is one thing (besides class) the Host Club prides itself on, that's variety. Every potential guest is greeted with a smile and asked about their type.

The princely type
The little devils
The natural
The cool type
The boy lolita (as of 2/10)

Or perhaps customers would rather rotate amongst the host and see which type they prefer for themselves.

THE GUESTS

Naturally, with only a few hosts and an open invitation to everyone, there's only so much attention that can be shown at one time. So, guests should feel free to mingle amongst themselves as well.

NIGHT AND AFTER

At sundown every day, the guests are politely convinced to go and welcomed back the next day, when they open just after breakfast. Which leaves the crew alone for their own dealings.

On the fifteenth, they close up shop and make sail.

[On most days, Tamaki will be seated on center of the deck entertaining anyone and everyone who wants to be charmed by the host club king himself.]

FEBRUARY 10TH, group dinner

[Everything has been shut down for the night, the Host Club closed for business tonight.

They have a new arrival to get settled, so it's dinner as usual, with all but one place around the kotatsu, an area closed off from the festivities of the open house, filled. It felt a little more like home every time, with another friend returned.

Seeing Honey-senpai here without Mori-senpai? Was almost as strange as seeing Kaoru without Hikaru.

Now, though, with dinner served, Kyouya sets a second glass down for each of them, in addition to the tea and coffee around. A glass of red wine.

A talk almost a week ago has been buzzing around in his head, especially with the latest happenings.

They all deserved it.]

"It takes the edge off," my mother says. I thought perhaps we could all use that about now.

FEBRUARY 10TH, group dinner

[Tamaki brought Antoine with him to meet Honey as he made his way to his own seat, the white rose pillow. The kotatsu was almost complete, and Tamaki was very happy about this.

When the red wine was served, his eyes pulled wide open.]

Where'd you buy this, Mommy?

An innkeeper was willing to part with a bottle for a decent sum, and I had a bit of my own funds leftover.

[He gave a bit of a smile, about as much as one as he ever did on a good day.]

There's no legal age for drinking here, so it's actually allowed for someone our age to buy it.

[Honey has been a little too sedated since calming down from his fit upon arriving. Either he's pooped from the crying, or he just isn't up to being his normal bubbly self with what has happened.

It doesn't help that they're on a ship - even if it is at anchor! The rocking isn't doing him any favors and he's basically ignored his dinner. It isn't cake and that is all he wants right now. That and Takashi. And Usa-chan.]

Ne, does anyone want my wine?

[It tastes too funny for him.]

[Kyouya, sipping at his, glances over at the cup.]

If you still don't want it in a bit, Honey-senpai, I'll take it.

[Polite, respectful, complete with a small bow of the head. He is the junior student, even if there are ship ranks and all of that to consider.]

Or if no one else does.

[Even just the few sips he's had have helped. Purely psychological, he knows. That little of alcohol? Hasn't had any physical effect. But he connects it with a sense of calm, and so it helps create that.]

Okay.

[Honey can't help looking at the empty pillow next to him - for the five hundredth time since he saw it - and sighing. Of course, then he takes it to the next level by just flopping over to lay his head on it and stare at the ceiling before wrinkling his nose and whining. ]

It smells funny in here.

[Yes he is complaining just to complain about something. He feels too helpless otherwise and doesn't have the energy to train like he might when he was feeling out of sorts.]

That is amazing!!!!

[He looked at the glace and spun the contents in it happily.]

Is this to celebrate Honey-senpai's arrival~!?

Does it? I suppose I've grown used to it. I've been here since September.

[A casual remark, made as he sips his wine again. And it sounds completely harmless. But it has a purpose, as what Kyouya chooses to say often does.

A simple reminder that some of them have been here for quite some time. Not that just looking at them isn't that, too.

He isn't short-tempered now. He's had time to breathe and calm down after the stress of the witch, after everything that had happened there. He also is very aware of whom he is speaking to. That despite Honey's appearance, he is still Haninozuka Mitsukini.

It's just a little reprimand that can hardly even be heard as that.]

I thought a little something special would be nice.

[Because he can blame the wine on Honey. That he brought it out for that reason.

And it is, in a way. With Honey here and no Mori, there's a headache waiting to happen. So, Kyouya's going to treat himself in advance.

But he doesn't have to say that.]

[Honey might hear the intended message of Kyouya's little remark, or he might just be annoyed that he isn't being coddled after his traumatic experience.

Either way, there is just this look Kyouya.]

I'm glad~!!!!

[Tamaki then moves his head closer to Kyouya to whisper to him. This has been troubling Tamaki all evening long.]

What are we going to feed Honey-senpai?

[Kyouya bows his head a bit, his voice lowering considerably. Not unusual for the two of them, discussing things in the presence of others and concealing the conversation.]

We have some candy left over from the guests the last few days, and we'll be receiving a bit more daily.

[Hardly Ouran's stock of sweets, cakes, and other treats, but it will have to do. It's all they actually have.]

We'll... think of something. I'll take care of it. [Somehow.]

Are you sure that's enough?

[He tries to keep his voice low as he whispers to Kyouya.]

Do you forget, he eats 3 cakes after dinner!? And he has a special cake night!

[Usually, Kyouya is with his notebook -- not the magic journal -- or sort of patrolling the deck, but with guests who request him or seem to favor his type, he might either walk with them or sit on a side couch and serve tea and other snacks.]

He is also a Haninozuka, capable of self-control when it is required. We have what we have.

He will have arrived with some money -- surely that will cover his expenses for a time.

Yes that's true. [He thinks for a bit before he talked once more.] Do you remember how he was so willing to defeat his little brother, just so he can continue to have cake every evening? [There was a very tiny part of Tamaki that truly feared Honey's obsession with sweets.]

After that, we have to do something, right?

I'm okay. [She pushes her wine glass away and gets comfortable on her red pillow.] If someone else wants it, they can have it.

[After watching her Dad drunk on various occasions, she really doesn't have a stomach for any alcohol.]

I found some sugar in the market place. [Which is clearly a good thing considering Honey is now amongst them.] I can use it to sweeten some dishes.

[No, she will not be serving sugared fish. That's disgusting.]

[Haruhi makes her rounds, smiling and looking every inch a boy. Well maybe not every inch. Her already small chest is bound, but there's not much she can do about her face. Even with her hair short, she's almost too pretty to be a boy.

But there are some boys like that, right?

Regardless she sees to the guest's needs and strikes up conversations, letting her natural personality shine through.]

[Sydni studied the list for a few moments, not understanding it. Well, not entirely. The idea behind a type preference was not unknown to him. It was the descriptors they gave that puzzled the man.]

Could you explain the types to me, Serrah? I am not of a noble line and have only recently been given a title that comes with that sort of life. This is unfamiliar to me.

[This was all starting out so formal, the urge for Minako to break ranks and approach the individual hosts herself was difficult to ignore. It would be so easy to just go up to each one of them herself.. still, she was behaving for the moment. She wouldn't want to get thrown out before securing a stomach full of snacks first. Leaning to one side, she tried to peer around the girls in front of her, occasionally bouncing to look over the tops of their heads as well.

Were these hosts that popular? They must be pretty good at what they do to warrant all this. It was like they were idols...

When it was finally her turn, she stepped forward and puzzled over the selection. When she made her selection, a shameless smile graced her lips as she stated.]

I'd like to spend time with all of the hosts!

[It was free today, right? Might as well splurge!]

[He doesn't know exactly what "serrah" can be taken as, but he assumes it's like "sir." Close enough, at least, for Kyouya to smile warmly. His voice is easy, almost reassuring.]

It's not as complicated as it seems, I assure you. The types are all personalities and styles of conversation.

The princely type is full of smiles and warm words and compliments. All very genuine, of course, but a great deal of it. Some find that exceedingly welcome, others don't. Regal, poised, but always kind.

The little devils are for someone who likes a little mischief in their life. They're exceptionally flirtatious, and they work together. 'Two of a kind,' as it were. They've got a bit of bite to them, especially the darker haired one, but they're quite harmless under it all.

The natural is simply that: sweet, charming, and understated. A fine conversationalist with warm words and smiles. A darling, really, and a delight to spend an afternoon with.

The boy lolita is cute. Very good natured, quite energetic, and mostly adorable. Fond of sweets and cute things, stuffed animals in particular. If you're in the mood for light, quick chatter, there's no one better.

And the cool type... is reserved. Quiet but not unkind. Not cold, but not particularly warm on the surface, either.
