[Log || 004] Empieza and Aeolipile

Who: Hazardous Materials
Where: Isla Empieza first, then sailing to Aeolipile Isle!
When: 4/1 - 4/28
What: Picking up new crew members and recovering from the Navy battle! Plus shenanigans.
Warnings: DRAGON!!! But no, nothing really. Probably.
Style: Any!
Status: Open if you're on Isla Empieza and want to hang out!


This is our April log of awesomeness! Date your threads accordingly and probably include a location. This is the plan for now:

4/1-4/10: Hanging around IE, grabbing Cynthia, STUFF.

Really? They're called sai, they're pretty much the best weapons ever.

[Crosses his arms, leaning back again and watching Gaius examine them.]

I've been using them forever.

Mainly the Shepherds use anything from swords to ridiculously huge axes aside from staves, but nothing like this.

[He tries to figure out how you'd hold something like these. Raph was holding it like this earlier, right...?]

I can tell. They may as well be a part of your arms.

Huge axes? [Raises his brow.] Heh, that could be fun.

Splinter actually had us all switch weapons one time. ...It didn't go so well.

Not if you're on the receiving end. [A crooked grin.]

Oh yeah? I guess being versatile in weaponry's not a bad thing, but you can't expect to master it in one lesson.

[Grins right back.]

Fair enough.

[Then he scratches the back of his head.]

That actually wasn't the point of the lesson, believe it or not. He thought we were getting too, uh...complacent. And dependent on the weapons we were used to. [Rolls his eyes a little.] We were getting cocky, basically. But every time that happens, the bad guys up their game and we're knocked down a peg or two. Keeps us on our toes, though.

Oh, I see. That makes sense too, I guess.

We actually ended up going to the surface with no weapons by the end of that lesson. We had to make it work using our surroundings.

Wow, harsh teacher. So how'd that go?

[mostattitude]

Nah, he does it because he knows we can handle it. Sometimes you just gotta test yourself.

[He grins.]

And anyway, we're martial artists. We should be able to fight without weapons, at least some of the time.

[He shrugs, giving a thoughtful nod.]

Never hurts to be resourceful either.

Yep, definitely a good skill to have. And it went pretty well, if I do say so myself.

Good to know. Well- [He holds up he sai again.] Guess I'll go and see what I can do for these. I'll bring 'em back up soon as I'm done.

[He doesn't usually just hand his weapons off to other people, so it feels a little weird letting Gaius take them.]

Better not lose 'em, dude.

[He'll tuck the other sai with the first before giving Raph a salute. Then down he goes. No worries man, you'll get 'em back!]
