[Log || 004] Empieza and Aeolipile

Where: Isla Empieza first, then sailing to Aeolipile Isle!

What: Picking up new crew members and recovering from the Navy battle! Plus shenanigans.
Warnings: DRAGON!!! But no, nothing really. Probably.
Style: Any!

This is our April log of awesomeness! Date your threads accordingly and probably include a location. This is the plan for now:

4/1-4/10: Hanging around IE, grabbing Cynthia, STUFF.

[That warning may have been a little too late as she trips over some sand and falls to her knees. It was a quick motion and took her a few seconds to process it before laughing from embarrassment. Ok so MAYBE wearing heels on the beach was a bad idea.]

[Whoops. Well, she's obviously no a real magic user either. Sand's a walk in the park for them.

Gaius steps over, holding out a hand.]

You okay?

[Well she never said she was a magic user, now did she? She'll just go ahead and take off her shoes before taking his hand and getting up.]

Clearly I'm no match for loose sand.

Sand's pesky business. It'll trip you up, drag you down and get all over the place.

[She dusts herself off only to have Garchomp finish for her. Not all that happy that she wasn't able to save her master from tripping.]

So is the boat far from here?

Not too much farther. We're right at the end of the docks there- you might be able to catch a glimpse of the ship from here. It's the one with the bright green shell painted on the side there.

[Now you had her curious. Looking around at the different ships. A bright green shell was supposed to stick out right? And why a bright green shell anyway?]

And what's the crew like? I mean, what am I supposed to expect when I get there?

Heh, it's an interesting mix. I'll have to confess that most of 'em are teenagers, but they're pretty capable. One of 'ems got a dragon and the other four are, well, turtles. Then there's me and Jingles- who claims to be a pirate so he's pretty much the one with the most sea experience out of the group of us.

A dragon huh? I hope my pokemon could get along with it. I know I'd love to meet another dragon that wasn't mine.

[Garchomp scoffs.]

And I don't teens, I've worked with a lot of teens back home. But um...what are turtles? And Jingles?

[He grins a bit at Garchomp. Uh-oh, hope there won't be any trouble.]

...wait, seriously? Turtles, these reptile-ly creatures with shells on their backs- usually walk around on all fours but in this case they're human-sized and bipedal.

And Jingles, he's human, about our age.

Oh! Kind of like a blastoise, cool. Though I doubt they'd have cannons on their backs like the ones back home.

As for this Jingles guy, he sounds pretty interesting. Now I'm curious to see if he's a real a pirate or not.

Cannons on their backs? Huh, if they did, it might've made a little difference against those Navy guys... They can fight pretty well without, though.

I've never sailed with any pirates before, but Jingles isn't bad for all he claims to be one.

So these turtles can fight huh? Can they also talk?

[And by talk, she meant say something other than their name, because if they could, she'd probably want to study them]

Is Jingles really his name?

Oh yeah, they can talk. Half the time it's kind of hard to follow their slang but they're just like people.

-aaaand that'd be Gan Ning. But once you meet him, you'll completely understand why I call him Jingles.

So talking, walking, fighting turtles with confusing slang. That's definitely something to look out for. But I wonder what's the story behind that?

and I'll be sure to check this Jingles guy out. That's a pretty weird nickname for a pirate.

Something about mutating, if I remember the story correctly, but I'm not sure I followed it all the way. It sounded pretty strange to me.

They're were mutated?

[Now that definitely caught her attention. She's heard stories of pokemon being mutated before, bad stories.]

And, well, I can't really think of any reason to call someone Jingles. Unless they walk around with a bell or something...

That's what Raphael told me, anyway.

[He just gives a knowing smirk at the latter, though.]

Oh! There is it!

[Bright green shell, just like he said. Well now she understood why that's been painted there.]

[Gaius nods. He gestures for them to hang back a bit while he moves ahead to take a look around the docks, but it's not long before he waves them over.]

Everything's nice and quiet on our end. Come on.

[She waits quietly for his signal, telling Garchomp to run ahead when he does since people are more likely to throw harpoons at a dragon rather than someone who may or may not be the accused sea witch. She follows shortly after she was sure Garchomp had made it to safety.]

Urgh, all this sneaking around...

Guess I'm kinda used to it.

[With a shrug, he moves on ahead without explanation. He points the Garchomp up the ramp to the U.S.S. Booyashaka (yeah he doesn't even know what that one means), and then waits for Cynthia to follow before he'll bring up the rear.]

[So maybe she took her time getting to the boat. She hasn't been on the docks in such a long time, and it just looked so peaceful. But gets there eventually and looks in awe at everything...but what what's that smell?]
