Nonsense! I thought I was going to die back there and you saved my life. The stab was my fault, I wasn't paying attention. But I'm still here and I'm still breathing, Leo. That's enough.

[Slowly, she lets go and kisses the top of his head.]

[If his face wasn't already as red as Raph's mask, he's pretty sure that it was now.]

[The champion goes quiet for a bit. Sucking in a deep breath and clutching on to her side. For a moment, she had forgotten about her stab wound. But with the lack of proper medication, the pain decided to hit her like a ton of bricks.]

Urgh...stupid.

[Leo had also gone quiet, but hearing Cynthia in pain made him alert again.]

Cynthia, I think you've been out long enough. I think it's time that you go lay back down.

I'm fine, Leo.

[A quick shift on her seat and she was back to ~~and probably failing at~~ ignoring the pain.]

Besides, look at that beautiful sunset. Don't make me miss it.

[He groaned. Honestly, she was as stubborn as his brothers!]

Fine. But as soon as it's all the way down, you need to go back to bed. Okay?

[She holds her side and chuckles, trying to ease the pain a little. Honestly, this kid was adorable when he started acting like everyone's leader.]

Last time I checked, Gan Ning was the only man allowed to boss me around.

Well if you want to play it that way, I can go get him to get you to go lay back down.

[And he'd do it too.]

[Insert dramatic gasp here, then a wince because wow that hurt.]

Well fine then, I'll go back after the sunset. But that'll mean you won't see me anymore...well ok maybe you will after two weeks...you get the idea.

I could have died today...weird.

[Stupid face, quit turning red! He just turns his eyes back to the sunset and stares.]

[She'll wave it off and pretend she didn't see his face turn red. Being far too used to teenage boys and all that.]

Tell me something, you and your brothers...we're you guys trained to handle death? I mean, how you're supposed to react to it and such?

[That wasn't something that he was expecting to be asked.]

Well... no, not really. We've been trained to fight to stay alive. But no training could teach us how to deal with death, that's what sensei has implied.

Life is quite short isn't it? I didn't die today. But what's stopping fate from possibly taking me in my sleep tonight? Or maybe a slow growing infection would take me when I least expect it...heck, what if this would be the last sunset I'll ever see?

how do you deal with that?

I... I don't know. I guess we'd just have to deal with it. from what I understand, you;d just have to cope with it and go on. That's what I've come to understand about it.

Are you afraid of death?

[A beat.]

Wait, what am I saying? You? Leonardo? Afraid of death? Gosh what a stupid question to ask.

[the question made him go silent. His mind went back to the showdown at TCRI and on the Technodrome. Twice he had nearly died, twice he was lucky to have survived. But he still remembered the fear that eh felt both times.

[He sighed as he kept thinking back through his memory. He was afraid of dying, but for the longest time now and especially after those fungi made him face it, he's feared something else related to death even more.]

No, it... it's okay. The possibility of me... of any of us dying is one I have to deal with all the time back home. And I am afraid of it, but... I'm okay with it. I'm willing to die if it's for my brothers.

It's... letting them down and losing them that I'm afraid of.

That I understand...I already lost my little sister.

[She noticed as the final wisps of light disappear into the horizon, and a single star is seen lighting up the sky.]

Huh...well looks like that's my cue to leave.

[Her sister? She lost her sister? He thought about asking further, but as the sun vanished, he decided to wait another day.]

So you need any help getting back to your room?

I do, but you don't have to worry about that. Just concentrate on getting that shoulder healed.

[She signals her dragon to come and help her up. Then slowly gets on her feet to wait.]
