Heh! No worries. [he's close enough to reach and give Lea a casual smack in the arm] I'm a lotta things, but crazy ain't one of 'em. And I know how to take care of my men.

Uh. And women. Now that we got some.

[That earns a genuine laugh out of Lea. He can't help but like this guy. It seems like he actually understands what he's going through and is willing to listen to his side of the whole thing, which is a step up already.]

Yeah, it seems like Cynthia would jump up to correct you if she heard you leaving her out.

[epic eyeroll] Don't get me started on that woman. And if I ever catch any of you guys callin' me by the stupid nickname she gave me, I'm throwin' ya overboard.

[he snorts and shakes his head, but really, everybody's safe. He won't kill them, at least.]

I mean it, though. Ya need anything, let me know. We get attacked? Nobody gets left behind. I'm not in the habit of throwin' anybody away.

[Lea nods. Sounds good to him.]

We're both pretty good in a fight, so you don't have to worry about us keeping up. Might need to rein Roxas in a little, though. He kinda has a tendency to go overboard.

[It's another reason he's glad to have him away from the Spades mindset. He has to find a way to get it through that fluffy little head that killing people is different from killing Heartless.]

Yeah? Excellent. Not that we're short on fighters, but every extra hand counts in case we run into another tough battle with the Navy or somethin'.

[he remembers Roxas' comment last night, about his sword]

What weapons you favor? Or are ya more hand-to-hand?

[Lea pushes off the door frame and takes a few steps back to give himself some space before summoning his chakrams. He spins them with practiced ease, though he does feel a little guilty about defaulting to his preferred weapons instead of the Keyblade he's supposed to be learning to use.]

These beauties plus fire magic for me. I'm working on branching out, but in a real fight you need to stick with what works.

[summoning weapons out of thin air? no fair! But once he gets over being startled by that, Xingba can't help but lean in with keen interest]

Ah, nice, nice. I know somebody back home who uses weapons like that. She's a real terror with 'em. If you're half as good as her, then I think we'll all be in real fine shape.

I get what you mean, though. I prefer my sword but I know a few other tricks just in case. Can't hurt.

[Lea banishes the chakrams and holds his hand out again.]

I'm supposed to be learning to use this thing.

[He waves his hands several times, growing increasingly annoyed as his attempts at summoning the Keyblade fail.]

I think you can see why I don't.

[Finally, with a puff of smoke and flame, the weapon appears.]

Roxas uses two of these and I'm lucky if I can handle one.

Uh. Yeah, I think I see your point. Still.

[he hops off the barrel to step closer and have a good look at it. It's as ornate as half the swords he's ever clashed against, really]

Duel-wielder, huh? Heh! A blade like that's gotta be almost as big as he is. Can't wait to see you guys in action.

[Lea holds the Keyblade out and turns it back and forth so Gan Ning can see. He'd hand it over if it worked that way, but it'd be kind of a nasty trick to pass it to the guy and watch it disappear in his hands.]

We'll try to make it exciting for you!

[someday he'll ask to handle it and be sorely disappointed]

Good, I like a little excitement now and then.

Now and then? You make it sound like we get breaks from it sometimes.

[Lea dismisses the Keyblade with a grin.]

You telling me it gets boring around here?

Eh. Things have been quiet, lately, but I guess it's all relative. Won't be boring as long as we know how to make our own fun, though.

[whether that's the barrels of booze in the hold or protype submarines, either way]

Somehow when you say it, it doesn't cause any sort of sense of impending doom. That's an improvement.

[Not that he doesn't mind a little excitement, but a guy has to draw a line somewhere and he can't even see Ace's line from behind his own. Gan Ning doesn't seem like the type of guy who'd cause massive amounts of property damage because he's bored and he can and that's a very good thing.]

Heh! Impending doom ain't fun, I've had enough of that to know. There's fun and there's fun.

That sounds like something I could look forward to.

[The conversation has really taken a weight off his shoulders and it shows. Lea is more relaxed now than he ever felt with the Spades. There's a difference between realizing things are going to be alright and trying hard to convince yourself that they are and he really didn't realize that.]
