Hey – I think I know who you're talking about. One of them, at least. Asami? She sort of explained it to me, but now that I've seen it...

Actually, I can use airbending, waterbending, and earthbending, too. Fire is just the first I learned to control.

Is fire the easiest? And can anyone use all four?

Not for me and no. I can only do it because I had help. Normally, humans can only hold the power of one element at a time. Air and Water were about as easy to learn for me as Fire was. I managed to master them in less than a year and it took me almost a year to master Fire. Fire was just the first one I was granted. Earth I'm still struggling with. I can do it, but I can't do a lot of the fancier things with it that I can with the others.

Huh. So being able to wield all four is a special thing.

Even if you're still working on it, they're still useful. I can believe you've worked that hard.

But in regards to his own leg, that's something he can talk about just fine.]

This? This is still pretty new, I guess. I feel lopsided at times, but I've gotten use to it.

How did it happen?

Like I said before, we had the whole "Dragon versus Viking" thing going on. I accidentally found out that all of the dragons that were stealing our food weren't eating it themselves – instead, they were feeding a very massive dragon that controlled all of them within range of its nest.

When my dad found out, they used Toothless to take them over there. I had to round up everyone else for an impromptu flying lesson. Which sort of worked, amazingly!

We were able to get in the middle of the battle before anyone got badly injured. Most of the ships were out of commission. Toothless and I went to handle the hard part. Leading the dragon up and away from everyone else was easy enough, and we had to time the attack to make sure it would all work out...

[He shrugs, giving a slight sigh as he shakes his head.]

...It did, but. There was the issue of trying to steer with a burning tailfin. The last thing I remember was colliding with the other dragon's huge, club-like tail.

The next time I woke up, I found Toothless inside of my house and I was missing a foot.

[That was a pretty amazing story, actually. Sounded fascinating.]

You two have been through a lot together. From the looks of it, you'll be through a lot more.
