Our very own abandoned island!
Who: The crew of the Mahi Mahi Iwatobi-chan
Where: Breakneck Cay
When: September 28, afternoon
What: After finally making landfall after way too much time at sea, opinions on the current situation are mixed.
Warnings: None
Style: [Brackets]
Status: Open to crew. If you're separated from your own crew and you need a convenient island to be shipwrecked on, feel free to jump in too!
[The Mahi Mahi Iwatobi-chan sits halfway into the sand on the shore of Breakneck Cay, a small hole ripped in the hull the only other testament to its rough landing. All in all, Hajime is quite satisfied by how well they weathered the storm together, managing to keep afloat even in the worst of the weather. They'd gotten totally lost, though, and sighting land had made them, well, a little overenthusiastic. They might have figured out sailing but not...well...not the part where you stop sailing.
So now they have to make repairs and get their bearings before they can head out on the open seas again and hopefully find an island with a little more population. Well, that would be the sensible, boring thing to do. Hajime is more interested in the huge, rotting hulk of a wrecked ship further down the shoreline.]
Everybody, LOOK! A real shipwreck! Let's go treasure hunting! Treasure hunting! Treasure hunnntiiinnnnnnnnnnng!! Treasure treasure treasure hunting!

But he had barely taken two steps (and his shirt off) when he noticed all the rocks in the shore. He made a disgruntled face: even he wasn't crazy enough to try to swim there.
So instead, he turned back to pay attention to whatever Hajime was saying]
Is there still treasure there?

It'll be an adventure adventure adventure adventure! [She starts singing again as she hops on top of what used to be a rowboat and jumps off just before it crumples into a pile of wet wood.]
no subject
so decides to catch up to hajime, lest she ends up crashing stomach-down into some wood or something. except she seems to be doing OK, whereas Haru slips down and gets his pants dirty.
He's not pleased, but keeps going]

Hey now, hey now, what's this! [There's something strange sticking out of the sand! She gives it a good tug and unearths a long, weathered white piece of...] Ooooh, it's a bone. Ha! Rest in peace!
[She puts it down and bows to it, then for some reason chooses that of all spots to wait for Haru to catch up.]
no subject
when he catches up to her, though, there's a bone on the sand. why... is there a bone on the sand.]
Is that...? [what do you even ask in this situation? ultimately decides to bow lightly to it, as well. just in case. and gives a look at the pirate ship that's nearby] Are we going in there?

[though he is putting his shirt back on as he says this, so]

Also, he sees that you're putting your shirt on so he's not going to push it. ]
No. We're not.
[ THANK GOD!!!!! ]

The rocks will get in the way.
[sigh. soon, water. soon. the bathtub has helped, but he has been really itching to go swimming - actual head-in-the-water, legs-and-arms-moving swimming]

All of his biggest fears had gotten together and conspired against him in what had to have been the worst day of his life. The only light at the end of this tunnel was the fact that miraculously everyone had survived and seemed, for the most part, all right. Really, they were the only things holding him together. He knew that he could do anything when he was with his friends. Even completely ludicrous and horrifying things like this. Fun? Right?
As he stumbled pathetically off of their poor excuse for a ship, he had a hard time gathering his thoughts and words. How did they survive??? It became even more abundantly clear that it was not in Makoto's cards to be a pirate or even, as he liked to put it, A TREASURE HUNTER. ]
Can I veto going there? As captain?
[ Cue his pathetic collapse. ]

[She's waving cheerfully, like she's not surrounded by piles of debris and what might possibly be bones.]
no subject
No I don't want to go! You shouldn't go either!
[ Though as he's saying this, he's standing up and picking up a light jog toward her. ]

BUT WELL, OCTOBER WAS HERE surely things could not get more scary.
Anyway, for now and after that mess of a landing, he's really worried about him]
You could stay here.
[he says it in the most caring tone Haru can muster, which is actually pretty good. a pirate boat with skeletons, maybe, would probably not be the best place for his friend]
no subject
He sits up and looks toward Haru with a defeated sigh. He can tell he's concerning his friend and that is the absolute LAST thing he wants despite absolutely everything that is happening. He appreciates the concern, however. ]
Wait. Are you going?
[ Is he the only one concerned about the human life here? ]
no subject
plus, easy money is always good, right?]
There might be something useful.
no subject
This is the same tactic I use on you...
