[he grimaced slightly at the goo covering half of Akira's body. That did not look pleasant] well crap...the locals I spoke to said the bird ate it pretty recently, so if it wasn't up in there... [he gave an aggravated sigh] this is probably the wrong bird.

[he frowned, folding his arms and looking down at it. It seemed to have calmed down now, it's head lying on the ground looking tired]

I'd hate to slaughter it after you went through all that just to make sure it lived. I guess I'll let it go... But we'll have to kill one for food while we're up here eventually. I don't think there's any other sources of meat, and I'm not eating any nasty vines.

[he looked back at Akira] in the meantime we should find a pool or lake or something so you can get that stuff off...
