[Direction from Isla Empieza]: Somewhere in the South.

[Terrain]: Clouds and rose quartz gemstones. Wild twisted thorn jungles and cities built out of crystal pillars.

[Weather]: Crystal clear. It’s always warm and bright, thanks to the sunlight reflecting off the stones. It’s best to wear a pair of tinted sunglasses the entire time you are here. Light storms hover over the jungles once in a while but otherwise the island floats high enough that it’s almost always perfect weather.

[Is the island inhabited?]: Yes!

[If so, what is the culture like here?]: The people of the island are very short, the tallest standing around four foot tall, rounded faces, feet flat and duck like, body rounded but human. They are all slightly pink tinted in hair, like everything else around this place. The people here have learned to carve out huge villages in the centers of rose courts crystal pillars. They hunt for food, mostly birds, in the twisting thorn forest.

[Island peculiarities]: The jungles are light brown, pink to green and roll round and round in thick loops, twisting around each other. When tapped the sap inside the twisted tree like roots and thorny vines are sweet and almost intoxicating if you’re not raised on the stuff. Traders will sometimes come and collect sap for sale on the seas.

The island is made up purely of crystal stone, rose colored, jutting out here and there. There is a large deep patch of earth in the far northern side of the island that grows a forest, but nothing else will actually grow there. No crops are made here. This jungle however is FULL of birds. The larger crystal pillars can be hollowed out to build homes in.

The clouds under the city keep it hidden from the seas below, but the vines in the north have gotten so large and so wild that through the clouds thick spiny arms seem to grow and twist under the island as well.

The only food here is some form of bird or another, or strips of baked vines from the forest.

Full jars of sap tapped from the trees of this place fetch a nice price on the "below seas".

OTA straw hats and bloody roses...please help this stupid shark before he hurts himself

[so, they're here to find a token, and word is a bird ate it. Great. Well, Thash didn't feel like waiting around to see how long it takes a large bird to digest things nor go looking among piles of bird crap to find it. So, he'd start traveling over the island asking locals to see if any of them had seen which bird had eaten it. Eventually he found a lead- the bird was some huge species with an average adult wingspan of 25-30 feet. They usually had black and white feathers with red on the chest and face. The officiant had tried and failed to stop it from getting away but had pulled out a few large tail feathers, so this one would have a sizeable gap in its tail fan. Thash went hunting]

[unfortunately even after tracking down the nesting site, he wasn't having much luck. He found the one with missing feathers, however... The bird wouldn't get anywhere near him if it could see him, so attacking from the ground was a waste of time. He'd have to attack from above... Kill it from its back, yes, that seemed like a good idea. Of course he could have just asked some of his crew mates with long range attacks to help out but...we wasn't a habitual team player nor was he used to thinking about how to utilize other people's skills. So he came to the conclusion he'd have to jump on the bird's back from a cliff or something]

[he climbed to the tip of a high crystal pillar overhanging the birds' regular nesting areas. It was only a matter of time before it flew under him, and carefully calculating his timing and aim... he jumped! And landed on the bird's back! But after a few seconds his initial excitement wore off and he realized the bird was departing the nesting area and was now high over the ground. Killing it now would result in falling though the air hundreds of feet, and to make matters worse, it had noticed its passenger and was trying to shake him off! Crap...maybe he should have planned this out a little better]

((Ooc note: Thash only THINKS this is the right bird with the token. He has no actual proof that it is the right bird :3 there's probably many that meet the description he got from the locals...and maybe they even gave your character a different description?))

[As for Akira, he's just out getting the lay of the land. He takes the high roads when he can. Cliff faces, treetops, outcroppings. Aerial views are more useful. Nice to have back-up plans and know shortcuts just in case things get leery. Now a quick check about him to see...What the hell is this idiot doing? Is that...]

...Thash? Why are you on a giant bird? Do I even want to know? Where's the rest of you guys?

[normally it would probably be pretty hard to communicate with someone on the ground from the back of a bird in the air, but with Akira on a high path it at least put him close, a few dozen feet to the side maybe. And with them both probably having heightened hearing, yelling over the wind worked well enough]

Hi Akira! I think it has the token! I don't know where everyone else is. Think you can lure this thing to fly lower or over some high ground?! Whoa!

[he clung on tightly as the bird made several sharp banks in an effort to make him get off]

[Akira's mind raced as he surveyed the scene, making a few lightning fast mental estimates before deciding on a course of action. He followed along, then raced ahead, estimating where the bird was likely to end up. Then it was a matter of waiting. He was silent for the duration, not wanting to tip it off.

When the time was right, he opened his supply satchel and pulled out some rope, fashioning it into a lasso before hopping out and flinging it around the bird's neck as it passed. He spoke as he climbed toward the now even more panicked bird.]

Are you SURE? I'm not bringin' down a bunch of birds just because you want a token.

There was a lot about this place that Faye liked, namely the crystal stone which was very pretty. That, and she got to wear her rather glamorous sunglasses. But apparently she had to go around chasing birds to get the token. That is definitely not something that she is keen on. At all.

So she decided to do things her way - the easy way. Standing at the edge of the jungle, Faye is throwing down bird food, aka the strips of vine that she bought. It was gross, and she wasn't going to eat it. Maybe if a bird got close she could catch it, or it would be sick and throw up the token. She wasn't very sure, but she was definitely not running around after them in that jungle. No thanks.

In the evening, Faye felt as though she could really use a good drink. She's heard of this mysteriously potent stuff that came from the trees, and now she wants to try the stuff for herself. Faye wanders around the crystal buildings, hoping for a place she can get her hands on the stuff and, hopefully, do some relaxing.

[As soon as those vine pieces hit the ground, they glow with a yellow light, lift up into the air, then zip off into the jungle. Just inside the treeline, a princess pony in a cowboy duster is cheerfully stealing her hard work away.]

*What...the hell? Faye stares at the yellow light, not sure what the heck is going on here. Maybe it was a magical bird stealing away her vines. Faye walks in the direction they went, only to discover...*

What? They have unicorns here too?

Oh no, I'm afraid not. Properly, I am an alicorn, not a unicorn. The wings, you see. [She spreads them slightly further, a calm if somewhat sly smile on her face to match her tone.]

*Akira calls down to her from the top of one crystal, swinging his legs idly off the edge of it.*(

*Faye looked up suddenly to see where the voice was coming from, and she smiled when she saw Akira, waving slightly*

Hey you! What you doing up there?

Just exploring the island, really. How about you?

[Right, so she's got to hunt a bird and slice it open. Good.

The hooded girl really loved the environment-- colorful and completely unlike anything she's ever seen. She really wants to stop and pick flowers, but someone else could already be searching for the bird.

There's one in particular that she's got her eye on. Walking around without a care in the world. No doubt, this one has to be the one with the token inside of it. She can be seen aiming a rifle from behind a tree, trying to get a good shot at it. It just needs to keep still...]

[Unfortunately, she isn't the only one who saw the bird. Dave caught a glimpse of it from a distance and rode in on his flying skateboard, scaring the bird away before the gun can go off. Also, before he can get his katana anywhere near it.

The bird flies into the sky, leaving him there staring in bewilderment. Damn. This isn't working. He needs something faster if he's ever going to catch a bird, let alone cut it open. He looks around and finally spots the girl, who he recognizes as one of his crewmates, behind a tree.]

Oh shit. Sorry. You were aiming for that thing, right?

[hoodwinking]

[She misfires, shooting a nearby tree and thunking her head against the one she was hiding behind. And now it's gone! Dammit, Strider!]

Damn, I almost had it! Don't you have anything quieter?!

Bloody roses n' straw hats...come get some FREE FOOD

[well, the bird he'd been hunting was dead and searched... Unfortunately it proved to be the wrong bird. Thash planned to go hunt some more, but at the moment he was hungry so he decided to cook the huge dead bird on a correspondingly huge spit over a fire. There was a lot of meat and the delicious smell of it would carry far, though it wouldn't be hard to find with the column of smoke the cooking produced]

[hunting birds on an empty stomach is no fun, so come and get some roasted bird!]

[...as a Straw Hat crew member helped Thash bring the bird down, he invited them to come eat to. So if you're one of the more violent Bloody Rose crew members, expect him to tell you not to attack any of the Straw Hat crew who come to eat! ...but yeah if any Bone Boys show up, he's totally going to attack them]

*Where there was food, there was Faye. She appeared at Thash's side as he attended the spit, and she leaned slightly closer to the fire to inhale the scent*

That actually smells reasonably decent. Think it'll taste okay? I am staaaarving.

[When he heard someone approaching he looked over his shoulder to see Faye, flashing a small smile before turning back towards the cookig meat]

I don't know what it'll taste like exactly since I've never had this kind of bird before, but judging by the smell it'll probably taste awesome. I think it'll be cooked all the way through pretty soon here...

[Katarina was hunting stuff herself. She had acquired a backpack when they were in that town before the race started, so she wasn't just hunting. She was picking up all kinds of plants and flowers for eventual wounds and for herbal teas, some of it you could use to spice up the food. Also she came across some edible mushrooms so they were tucked away in the rucksack.

But other than rabbit and a pheasant, she couldn't find anything. Getting annoyed that she can't find any big animal, she heads towards where the smoke was rising and where Thash said he'll be at.

She makes it out of the woods, dragging the bird in her gloved hand, grumbling to herself-] Stupid animals... and hunting.. and whomever brought me here... gonnakillthemallbitches... [She spots Thash next to the fire and gives him a wave-] You know how to cook this? [She raises the bird as she makes her way over to him.]

[it looked like he was starting to wrap things up. The fire was burning low, and the large bird he'd cooked had been cut into a lot of pieces...some of which were being smoked over the remains of the fire. He looked up as Kat came into the area. At her question, he stood up and faced her, raising an eyebrow with a slight frown]

Well, yeah. It'd be easy to cook that. But as you can see, there's already tons of food...less people than I expected came to eat it so I'm preserving what I can. It's a shame though, the stuff is so much better fresh....

[he shrugged] since it's already dead I guess it'd be best to cook it so it doesn't go to waste. But next time, keep in mind I'll usually find, kill and cook some large game
animal on islands without restaurants. You don't need to do extra hunting yourself.

[he glanced over his shoulder at the meat being smoked] as soon as that stuff is done we can throw that bird you've got over the fire and build it back up. In the meantime, want to have some of what's already cooked? It's a few hours old but it's still good, especially if you put it on a stick and warm it up over the fire.

[Celestia can't bring herself to kill a bird, and she knows painfully well that in the space of time it would take for her to talk to a bird, find a lead on the token, and head that way, her crew would have taken out -- well, numbers can't account for their strength. So instead, the princess pony in her cowboy duster is cheerfully out and about sabotaging the efforts of the Bloody Roses with her wings and her magic.]

[She may be enjoying her mischief a bit more than is royally polite.]

[And here's one of them! Once again, she's got a bird cornered, though the bird's blissfully unaware of the fact. She's got a pistol drawn, ready to pick it off and get into it's stomach.

She won't fail this time!]

[A quick flicker of magic rattles the branch beneath the bird to startle it. Celestia has absolutely no shame or subtlety in her actions, of course -- better for this Bloody Rose pirate to be distracted with her instead of hunting birds, after all.]

Anna and Keimi - sisterly field trip to HUNT FOR BIRDS

[Anna's excited about getting to go to her first island here. Well, other than Port Chance. Though that had been a pretty interesting experience, too. This island is beautiful though. But rather blinding, which Anna wasn't expecting. She didn't have any sunglasses, but she's using a cloak with a hood to help shield her eyes some.

She'd planned on going on this excursion with Keimi. Anna really liked her and they got along well. They'd already heard that a bird had eaten the token, and supposedly nobody had found it yet. Anna's reaaally not looking forward to hunting down birds to search their stomachs, but it does seem preferable to the other option, which she hopes it won't come to. And she doesn't really want to sit this one out either since it's the first thing she's doing with her new crew since she got here. She wants to be as helpful as possible.]

Huh, the jungle's not quite as pretty as the rest of the island, is it? But I guess this is where we'll find the most birds. Uhm... [She looks over at her mermaid partner for this part of the event.] What exactly are we going to use to take them down with? [Anna hadn't thought that far ahead. Whoops.]

[Keimi has opted for the alternate approach to shade- an over-sized pair of pink sunglasses. Though with how cute Anna looks in her hood, she may have to make one of her own.

The mermaid follows at Anna's side, her bubble gently floating over the brush and bumps of the forest floor. Her eyes are glued to the treetops that blot out the sky. In that moment she questioned whether they even knew what the bird was supposed to look like. It must have been a big bird, at least, if it ate that coin they need.]

I don't know, land forests are so different from sea forests. They're really pretty, in their own way.

[While she speaks, she removes her seashell backpack and sets it in her lap, gingerly searching through its contents. What she takes out looks like a piece of bubbly coral stuffed into the opening of a large snail shell.]

I'm too slow on land, but maybe this will at least make my bubbles fast enough to catch one!

[Anna crosses her arms, tilting her head to examine the jungle as a whole a little more. It is interesting, all twisted in loops and with colors not usually found in the forests around Arendelle. She's not too fond of the thorny vines though, she's already gotten a few stuck on her cloak, which is a little frustrating.]

It's definitely different from any forests I've ever seen.

[She looks back over to Keimi as the mermaid searches through her backpack. A confused look crosses her face at what she takes out.]

Oh. What is that, anyway? Is that more of the coral you showed me?

[She moves closer to her as she asks this, curiously examining the item in Keimi's hands.]
