September 26th and onwards!
The next day or two, Grell could be found pressing her hands up against the glass of the aquarium, looking in awe at all the sea animals on the other side of the glass. It was quite beautiful and nothing she had seen before.
Any other time, Grell will be window shopping, occasionally buying things, and one day, couriously trying out a drink similar to a Slurpee. There will be a chance of brain freeze happening, perhaps.

[he was standing in front of a large glass pane with his hands in his pockets looking at turtles and rays when he realized Grell was just a little left of him looking at the sea life like she'd never seen such things before. He watched her with interest for a second before stepping closer to say hi]
What's up, Captain....you look like you've never seen fish before, heh.

Not in such an environment. [To her, it felt like seeing the everyday life of fish. Perhaps it was how it was illuminated that has her mesmerized. She turns to him after a moment.] Is this how life is underwater for you?

I made this diving bubble thing I can show people reefs in...I've only taken one crew member out in it so far but maybe I should take more of you. It's a shame you guys can't see this stuff like I do.

[She's willing to dive underwater to see what lies below their ship, even if it would mess up her hair.]
no subject
You wanna use it, just let me know any time we're at an island. I could potentially take people out in it while we're at sea too, but...that could potentially be very dangerous. Big things swim around in the open water in this world.
[he looked back into the tank] you see prettier stuff in reefs around island anyways. Like those turtles and clownfish and stuff.

[Why wasn't she aware of this?]

And like I said, it's in my room. Up against the wall. It not that big... When its got trapped air inflating it, it's only big enough for one or two people's upper body. But it's made of a metal frame and a thick plastic sheet and doesn't take up much room...

...you'll have to show me what this looks like.

[he nodded a bit]
Yeah, it'd probably be better if I just showed you.

[Except her, because reaper...]

As for it tipping over, that's what the rocks are for. I secure them around the edges of the device to weigh it down enough that it won't float to the surface and keep it level. Besides, drowning when you're anywhere near me is very unlikely.
[he didn't really want to go into detail, but he had a way to prevent that even if the diving bubble somehow ruptured]

It sounds...primitive. [And yet, she isn't really surprised by such a fact.]
no subject
Well of course it is. Do I look like an inventor to you? I make weapons, not advanced underwater machines.
[he glanced back at the aquarium fish. Explaining his contraption in excessive detail just to have her call it primitive was a little annoying even if it was true]
Anyway you wanna try it let me know, and if you don't, that's less trouble for me.

On that note he has kinda been avoiding her, or letting her avoid him. It's complicated. Dave knows he messed up. He isn't sure what to say, or even if there's anything he can say to make things right. He can't take back that careless comment he made, no matter how much he wishes he could.
So he waits until the second day and walks into the aquarium, approaching Grell while she's pressed up against the glass. He figures it'll be better if he just starts a conversation and waits to see where it leads.
"Beautiful, aren't they? We're probably sailing over creatures like this every day, but we never get to see them like this."
no subject
"They are, yes." They may have been busy eating them, as well. Grell kept her voice polite and neutral as she observed the creatures in the tank.

Dave doesn't move any closer. He just looks up at the tank, smiling slightly. Grell seems a little uncomfortable and he doesn't want to invade her personal space. It's nice just to talk to her again.
