[It takes a little while, because Roxas has been busy, learning the layout of the ship, and even though he's caught a few glimpses of Sora here and there, he's been a little uncertain.

He has to face him sometime though. Riku's guess that he wouldn't disappear isn't exactly a hundred percent, but he's the one that wanted to see Sora anyway. He can't remember why he was looking for Sora at first, and some of his discussion with Namine is a little hazy. So he sees Sora sitting there and hovers a bit, uncertain, not too far away from him, peering at him from behind the mast.]

[The eyes...

He can totally feel 'em, Roxas. :| ...Huh?

[Turning, he blinks a couple of times, tilting his head to the side. Wow, so...this is...definitely something.

Seeing Roxas, here. On the Sun.

Standing there.

His Nobody.

Well...what can he do? This world has already proven itself to be...pretty unique. It can spawn ghosts that can temporarily turn people into creatures, only to turn back after a certain time period. Then, those very same ghosts can kill a person, for them to be brought back from the dead. And wake up on some strange island. With giant book-loving moths.

So.

Well.

With all that in mind, he shouldn't be too surprised.]

Uh...Hiya. [Somewhat awkwardly scratches the back of his head, a sheepish grin appearing.]

[Roxas stares right back at him from behind the mast, but he's caught so he comes around to look at him properly. Hesitantly he steps forward towards Sora, closing the distance between them a little bit.]

Hey Sora.

[He pauses for a moment, thinking about it. He doesn't feel different, he's not disappearing and it seems like there isn't much to be afraid of. Riku was right. He suddenly smiles and holds out his hand to Sora.]

I'm Roxas!

[The awkward smile remains as Sora watches his Nobody hesitantly approach him, sending his free hand up in a wave as a response to the returned greeting. Once most of the distance has been closed, the brunette lowers his hand to his side and blinks at the introduction.]

Oh, uh...[Should he tell him he already knew? Eh...

Nah...]

Hey, Roxas...[He reaches out to take the hand.] Nice to--[He hesitates, half wondering if this next part could really even apply to them.]--...meet you.

[Well Roxas did know it was Sora, so he might not have been too surprised, but for him as far as he knows, Sora didn't know him.

Sora seems like he's hesitating, or weirded out or something. Roxas lets go of his hand and his smile disappears. Maybe he should just...]

Yeah. Maybe this is a bad time.

[Maybe Sora doesn't want to meet him. Roxas isn't sure how he feels about that. He feels a tightness in his chest at the thought, but what could he do? Sora's the important one. If he doesn't want to know him, then he can't very well make him.]

[He blinks; then, quickly shakes his head.] What? No! It's not like that...

[He gives a sigh and offers a more reassuring smile.]

I'm just...surprised...I guess. [He exhales.] This place has done a lot of crazy things; but, I've gotta say this is still not something I would've thought was possible, you know?

Of course...I'm glad. That you're able to exist separately, I mean. [To this, he gives a genuine grin.] Very glad, since you definitely deserve it! [the grin softens into the smile.] It was something I wanted for you, the moment I found out. Because you're your own person...you made friendships I could never experience the same way you did.

[Roxas accepts the reassuring smile and moves over to sit next to Sora, stretching out one leg lazily. He's listening though and thinking about that. Sora is a good person, he thinks. Roxas knew that deep down in his heart.]

I didn't think you could be awake without me, but I think Riku said you're from after I disappear.

[He leans back and looks at the sky as he thinks.]

I never thought you'd say that. You need me to be whole, right? Namine said I need you for the same thing. I might've been friends with Axel, but I was part of the Organization too, and Namine told me they're bad people. I can't remember why but I was coming to meet you. I was...curious.

[His expression falls a bit.]

Yeah, I'm from...after that. And I thought so, too. But... [He scratches the back of his head.]

Maybe this place doesn't work the same way as other worlds. I think things like death and...sickness don't...follows the same rules, as they do in other places.

What I mean is...I died...once...in this place. But I woke up on an island. [He lowers his hand from the back of his head. Placing both hands behind himself, he leans back to look at the sky, as well.] I don't remember anything from after...it happened. Just that I felt pretty awful after waking up.

I'm not the only one who's had strange things happen to them, though. A couple of people turned into strange creatures. They all turned back to normal the same time I came back to life.

...

I guess what I'm trying to say is...We're in a place where there's no point in trying to figure anything like that out. We just need to focus on finding the shards. Thinking and worrying too much, while we're here, will probably just...make things worse. Because we'll forget what our real goal is.

And that's getting everyone back home!

[There's a bit of a pause and he nods a little.]

That makes sense, I think. Sora-I mean, you, I guess you need me to go home so you can wake up.

[It's a strange feeling, sitting there with Sora. Awkward. That was it. Roxas isn't sure what to say, or what he thought would happen when he saw Sora, but what he does know is that he needs to speak up.]

So, Riku said you used to play on a beach?

[He tilts his head so his face is more towards his Nobody.]

Well...I guess? I mean...I am already awake here, now, though...Right? [He gives a confused expression.]

...Talk about complicated.

There's a soft laugh.

He's very glad for the subject change, actually.]

Yeah, we did! We used to play there all the time with Kairi, Wakka, Tidus, and Selphie after school. And, during our breaks, we were there almost all day. We'd play Blitzball, sometimes... Or practice fighting one another.

Riku and I liked to race around the island, a lot, too...Heh...We were always competing with another, now that I...think about it.

[He looks back up at the sky, smile softened.]

Really? I saw you racing him in my dream. My dreams are always sunny and warm and fun. Riku said we can to go a beach here! I really want to go to one!

[He grins at Sora.]

You used to practice fighting? Did you win?

Oh, you did? [He gives a sheepish grin.] Even when I'd lose, it was still fun. And, yeah! There's lots of beaches in this world! We'll definitely take you to see one! You and Lea!

[Grins back.]

Yeah! Sometimes, I did! Riku was always the hardest one to go against... [He lets out a faintly nervous laugh, smile dropping.] He never seemed to be holding back. [Slowly, a bit of a frown is formed from the dropped smile.] And he always teased me if he won...

[The jerk.

His annoyed look lifts, almost immediately, though; and, he laughs.] Man, we always took those things way too seriously...

Okay! I'd really like that. [Sora gets an excited grin in return because it's the beach.]

He did that to me! He teased me when we were fighting and I said something that I guess you would have because then he figured out who I was.

[Roxas scratches his head.] I was winning though!

[Growing up on the beach, he kind of took that joy for granted. It wasn't until he no longer had to option of going every single day, that he realized just how precious that very activity really is.]

It's a promise, then!

[To the talk of Roxas fighting Riku, he frowned a little. He remembers this being...brougt up, before. He gives the same expression he gave last time, too.

This whole thing is just way too confusing, really. Instead of continuing with the subject, he's going to try changing it. At least, for now.]

Yeah? ...You know, we should all practice fighting each other! There's been several times we had to protect our ship and defeat the navy, and stuff. So, I think it's a good idea to get as strong as possible, so that...what happened, before, doesn't happen again.

Also, I kinda promised Kairi I'd help her get stronger, too. Wanna help us with that? [Offers a small grin.]

[Roxas grins, that sounds pretty good to him.

He ponders the suggestion and nods a little bit.]

That sounds like fun, I guess. I never really practiced with anyone, just did a bunch of missions. I met Kairi, she's really nice. She reminds me of Namine.

Yeah? Missions, like what?

[Pause.] Heh...yeah, she really is. She's always been the nicest person I know.

[Namine...

He never really got to learn all that much about her...]

Mostly Saix would come and tell me I needed to go somewhere and I went. Different worlds and things like that, to kill the Heartless and take the hearts they had to make Kingdom Hearts. Saix didn't like it if you took too long, he was always telling me to get moving. I guess everyone was doing what Xemnas wanted us to do.

[He looks a little sheepish.]

Namine told me that they're the bad guys. I was doing something bad. I know that I left the Organization at the end but I don't really remember why. I fought with Axel and then...

[By this point, pretty much all of the puzzle pieces have been put together by Ansem the Wise and King Mickey and...well...the time spent working to save the universe.

There were still tons of questions in regards of who was who, what kind of individual each Nobody had been, etc. But. Well. ...Roxas seemed to have plenty of his own questions.]

...You don't remember what happened after your fight with Axel?

[Sora hadn't really had time to think too much about or question it--a lot of answers had kind of fallen into place throughout his investigations; but, there were still things he was left not knowing.]

I don't remember what we were fighting about. I don't remember what happened right after, because the next thing I remember was fighting Riku, but that was at night.

[He runs his hand through his hair as he thinks about it.]

Then I remember summer vacation but I don't think that was real. When I met Namine and she told me some things, I found some monitors and I broke them. I fought Axel again, and then DiZ was there. He's so annoying.

[He sighs a little.]

Then you were there, asleep, and I came here.

...DiZ, huh? [Well, considering how everything turned out...

His expression drops, completely, for the moment.]

Heh. You had it...pretty crazy, before winding up here, huh?

[He forces his smile back and lets out a laugh.]

So, uh. What was your summer vacation like? There was...Hayner, Pence, and Olette, right? I actually met them. I remember when I was leaving, after the first time talking to them, I was really...sad. [He even cried.]

...I'm pretty sure that was because of you, though.

Summer vacation was good I think. I won the Struggle tournament, but we didn't get to go to the beach. The four of us spent most of the time together, at least, we did in my reality. I don't think it was real though.

[Sad huh? That's what he felt sometimes when he thought about the whole thing.]

Sorry, I think.

Well, if it felt real to you, then it was real enough, I think.

[His brow tenses.]

That's all that matters, right? That you have fun memories to look back and smile at? And...you can make new memories, here! With new friends! As many as you like!

[He offers another smile.]

And don't worry about it. It's not your fault, at all.

[Roxas smiles back.]

I think that's what matters, yeah. It was fun. I've made lots of new friends! There's a lot of people here you know. Lots more than I'm used to, but Lea's here and that's okay.

[It kind of is if his part of Sora's soul is making him miserable.]

Do you know Lea? Is it weird for you? It's a little weird when I talk to Riku sometimes because I know you like him and he's your best friend but I don't know what to think about him.

Heh! Yeah...Fortunately, everyone's really nice. Everyone seems to get along pretty well, too.

[But, he's not miserable! :c]

Lea? [Since he hasn't actually talked to Lea, yet...~~because timey-wimey stuff.~~]

Well, actually, I only know what Riku's told me, so far. But, I think that if we think too much about stuff like that, we'll just keep ourselves confused. [He laughs.] Just take the time to form your own opinion of him. Don't even worry about the fact that he's my best friend.

[Scratches at the side of his head.]

Just because he's my friend, doesn't mean you have to be his friend, too. You're allowed to like or dislike whoever you want.

They are, and it's good, I think. They all know all kinds of things. Oh hey, did you know I could swim? Ikki pushed me over the side when I met him, but it's okay because I can swim.

[Hmm. That doesn't seem right though.]

I don't think I dislike him, I just..it's weird. He told me what happens and everything.

[It's Sora's fault. Not Sora's fault. He's not sure. Yelling at Sora isn't going to make it better though. There's a feeling in his chest, a dull ache one not unlike what he felt when he saw Sora for the first time. Jealousy.]

Being awake and everything was important...right?
