A SPAR!

*Selphie's got everything at the refreshment table in order, and she spies Roxas waiting by the railing. She smiles at him as she unlaces her nunchaku from around her neck*

Hey, wanna play?

[He gives her a grin.]

Sure, why not!

[Hmmm, one blade or two for Selphie. He eyes her weapon.]

[booyaka_boom]

Awesome!

*Taking hold of her weapon, Selphie twirls it around, just for show, because its fun*

I'm ready when you are!

[heartismyown]

[Her weapon doesn't look very big, and he's not sure what kind of damage she can do with it. He ponders for a moment more and summons only Oblivion to his right hand, gripping his keyblade. He can always change his mind later.]

Alright.

[booyaka_boom]

Pretty!

*Selphie smiles and nods at his weapon, apparently looking forward to just a little bit of light training. She moves into her battle stance, watching him, and waiting to see what he'll do first*

[Roxas blinks at that.]

I guess, but Oathkeeper's nicer.

[He raises his sword and comes in, swinging his blade down from above. He isn't going full force yet because he doesn't know how she will handle it, but probably harder than she expects.]

[booyaka_boom]

Aww! They have names!

*As the blade comes down, Selphie stretches out her weapon, resisting the blade with the strength of the taut chain. She was smiling at first, but then the look of surprise is obvious on her face*

Hey! Stronger than you look!

[Roxas just grins a little.]

This is Oblivion.

[His keyblades, although ornate, could do some serious damage if he's not careful with them. He doesn't give her much time to recover, he sweeps the blade back from below.]

Nice to meet him!

*This is definitely much more difficult for Selphie - combat like this has never been her strong point. Still, she jumps back, and spins her end of her weapon to lash out for his knee*

[That won't do, Roxas does a spin on his feet, meaning to end up behind Selphie, and swings his blade at her side while he's doing it. It isn't as hard as the last couple of times because he doesn't really want to hurt her.]

*Selphie spins round when she realises that Roxas is behind her, and she just catches his blade with the edge of her weapon. She pulls it back and frowns, leaping foward to hit out at the shoulder that is relatively undefended*

[Roxas takes the hit with a little grunt and jumps back for a moment, reassessing. He's strong, and aggressive but in reality because he doesn't defend very much, he's full of openings to someone experienced.

He takes a breath and charges back in, dragging his keyblade along the deck before swinging it upwards at her.]

*While pleased that she managed to place a hit, Selphie quickly recovers herself to make sure that she's not leaving herself open to another hit. But the charge with which he comes at her is harder than she expected, and though she isn't directly hit, she does stumble back against the deck. Though, from down there, she flips her weapon out to sweep the heels of his feet*

[That's unexpected and she successfully takes his foot out, causing him to land hard on the deck.]

Oof. [The air rushes out of him, winding him on impact. Not the most graceful of landings.]

*Yes! This is her opportunity to get back up. She scrambles quickly to her feet, and while Roxas is down she takes the chance to bring her weapon down against the back of his legs, hoping that'll keep him down*

[He swings Oblivion that way to deflect her and hauls himself to his feet, even though he's catching his breath. Breathing hard, he holds out his blade towards her in a wordless challenge. Come on Selphie, bring it.]

[booyaka_boom]

*Stumbling backwards, Selphie watches Roxas with narrowed eyes, trying to figure out his next step. She keeps an eye on his blade and lunges forward, using part of the chain to push the end of his weapon away from herself*

[Were it not for this fight, he wouldn't have thought there was a downside to Oblivion quite like this, but because of the design of the blade it easily gets caught in the chain, which leaves him completely open.

It's instinctive, but Oathkeeper appears in his left hand, and he brings it up to block himself before he's in serious trouble.]

[booyaka_boom]

*And it's a good job too, because Selphie saw her opportunity and went for it immediately. But her nunchaku is stopped short by the second blade that appears, and she cries out her surprise*

What the hell?

*Quickly she gathers up her weapon and stands back, shaking her head*

Two?!

Ah, yeah, sorry.

[Roxas makes it disappear again with a bit of a wry smile.]

But only two, right? You're not gonna make any more of those appear?

*Still standing in a battle stance, ready to move again swiftly if need be, Selphie just watches him carefully*

No, I only have two, don't worry. I won't attack you with both of them. I didn't mean for that to happen, it just, kinda did.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie smirks and slowly shakes her head*

Sure. Right. I'm sure you were just as surprised as I was...

Only a little bit!

[Roxas smiles and shrugs before taking a better stance. Here he comes Selphie. He runs at her, but he's going to try and get behind her first.]

*She does her best to steel herself, hoping that she can react to whatever it is that Roxas is about to do. As soon as she realises that he's going to move behind her, she swiftly turns and holds her nunchaku out to defend, though it's possibly too late to be much good*
