Had worse days in recent mem'ry. Somethin' got yer tail in a twist?
[She tastes... odd. Kind of the same odd as Korra but not exactly.]
no subject
[Her feet twisted a bit (both still bandaged up) in the sand, her arms wrapped around her middle.]
Nothing. I'm... just glad to see you. [avoiding him until now was dumb, huh. She was glad to see him, that was there, but she was sick and couldn't seem to kick it, and worried, stressed, sad...]
no subject
C'mere, dumbass.
[He pulls her in to sit with him, wrapping his arms around her middle and propping his chin on the top of her head. Maybe she'll find it scary but chemicals
usuallydon't lie, and she's always liked it in the past.]Glad t' see y' too.
no subject
[She plopped down with him and leaned there, resting on him a bit as he wrapped an arm around her. She's got a bit of a fever, but it's nothing unheard of with her. She tends to get sick pretty bad once a year or so.]
[leaning heavy she closed her eyes, sighing again, relief waving off her]
I'm sorry.
no subject
[He's still not exactly sure what it is he's done that frightens her, if being a fishman isn't it, but...
Well. She doesn't need to apologize for finding him scary sometimes.]
Jus' wish y'd said somethin' sooner, 's all.
no subject
Didn't seem like something I needed to tell you. Kind of... um, just my problem. One I thought most of you already... knew about... me.
[Seriously, she had to learn to explain herself better.]
no subject
Thought y' was hot for me but jus' couldn't make yer brain okay with goin' all the way with a fishman. Happens with humans. If it ain't that then...
[He huffs.]
Hell I still can't figure out what y' mean by that. Had a shitload a time t' think on it, too, when I wasn't gettin' my mind flayed. Point is, if that's how y' feel, then it's how y' feel. Ain't got no right t' make y' feel uncool with yer own fam'ly.
no subject
You really think I'm scared of you? Like, honestly? [she peeked up at him, frowning. A hand came up to pet softly, a stroke, the 8 on his jawline] It's not you that scares me, Namur. You personally haven't, ever, and I doubt will. Except for when you go off and get kidnapped and hurt. Then you scared me.
no subject
[He is trying very hard to not fall into old habits, like letting that soft stroke send shivers through his body. Namur swallows.]
When I'm better y' got full rights t' beat the shit outta me. As for the rest...
Didn't used t' think so, 'til y' said so. So I dunno. Either way I was 'parently makin' shit up in my head.
no subject
Namur, I think I got words twisted or something. I didn't mean you scare me. I mean being with you scar--oh hell! Get yer damn words right, Haruta. [she said as she leaned forward, both hands coming to her face to hide it, her elbows on her knees. She mumbled]
I don't know how to say it so it doesn't come out wrong. I aint scared of you at all. You're my best Namur. No way in hell you personally scare me.
no subject
Somethin' t' do with me does, though.
[It's a question in its own right. He's not great at putting pieces together but he is trying. Meanwhile, he runs his hands up her back and to her shoulders, feeling the tension there and trying to relieve it with firm pressure.]
no subject
I'm not... scared of you. I'm not scared of your handsome face or your awesome fishman badassery. I'm... [brain off track again. She sighed, head falling between her shoulders as his webbed hand ran up and down her back and shoulders. The pressure felt good. She kind of sounded down for a moment. A small cat like purr and she just shut down, letting him help.]
[Then she picked her head up again as if her thought train came back.]
It's not you. It's me and hurting people. And I don't want to hurt you. And I totally did, didn't I? Shit, Namur... you get my head all twisted up on feelings and that scares me. Aint nothing you do other then being awesome. Isn't a bad thing. I don't think. But you get me all muddled and I can't think right, and then I start... feeling. See? That's the part that scares me, okay? You make me feel...
no subject
Yer makin' shit more complicated than it needs t' be. Up here.
[He reaches up to tap her forehead, the fever noted again with a slight frown.]
Stop thinkin' 'bout shit an' do what feels good here.
[He lets his knuckles drag over her cheeks and neck, then he taps just below her collarbone to indicate her heart.]
Get it?
no subject
[but so did the touch down her cheek and neck. The tap to her heart. Both hands came up to engulf his hand in hers, holding his hand to her heart. The beat was a little too fast, but steady.]
I get it. I think I do. My brain just... runs away with my heart and does dumb things. [still holding onto his hands she kept her eyes closed, leaning into him and trying to make her heart slow down, which it was, a bit, but she was flushed, either from blush or fever or both.]
I'm sorry, Namur. I said some stupid shit to you.
no subject
[Namur nuzzles in at her neck, being careful about his outer teeth. But it gives him a direct electrochemical taste right near her gland and... Shit. She really is ill. It's not even fair.]
This's worse'n yer normal bout a sick, ain't it? Ain't normal. What happened?
no subject
Got hit with something while fightin’. Chandra keeps doing some white magic stuff, but I only feel better for so long after...
no subject
Who done it, Sweetheart?
no subject
Some girl. Poison. Spiders and things. Chandra and Ikki took care of her, I think...
no subject
So y' need somethin' t' take care a the poison, not jus' the damage it's doin' y'.
[He's still pretty damn tired himself. The ship isn't far... Namur picks her up as he stands, and sets her on his shoulders. He winces as her weight bears down on his fin, but it's not as bad as it could be. He can handle it just long enough to get her back on the ship.]
C'mon, let's go get some rest.
no subject
[Magic and all. She also had all the faith in Chandra that she could have.]
[He picked her up, making her almost squeak as he sat her on his shoulders. She leaned on him a bit and frowned, looking down.]
I can walk ya big numbskull. Don't hurt yourself more. [she said, uncomfortably hugging his head, worried forever about her brotha] I made it out here this far, I should be helpin' you back...
no subject
[WOMEN.]
no subject
[her face flushed but now from blush, and he'd pick up that the idea made her happy.]
no subject
Namur does take the opportunity to put his hands high up on her thighs though. For stability, of course. The part where he caresses his thumbs over them as he makes his way back to the ship is totally just natural shifting and jostling as he moves, yup. It has nothing at all to do with him thinking she has perfect legs and taking advantage of the situation to appreciate their perfectness while he can. Okay, maybe a little. But he's not going to make something of it while she's still obviously sick. Namur gets her back onto the ship and into her hammock in good time, but it takes a lot out of him, and he nearly collapses into the hammock himself. He chuckles as he settles in next to her, nudging her nose gently.]
Hell of a pair we make, eh? Sheheheh!
no subject
[She just leaned into him and let him do as he wanted. She liked it anyhow. As he puts her in her hammock she moves with perfect balance still so he can get in too, so she can curl up on him, nose nuzzling him back for a moment before pressing her warm face into his neck and closing her eyes.]
Just gonna take a few days. We'll both be top of our game. Then you're on. Idiot.
no subject
[Namur wraps a long arm around her, then reaches for a blanket to haphazardly toss over them both. He rubs his chin against the top of her head, then settles in and falls fast asleep.]
