Dog's revenge and stargazing
Who: Crew of the Mistress
Where:sailing due east
When:19th-29th
What: Talk like a pirate shenanigans and comet watching
Warnings: cursing like sailors imminent
Style:any
Status:closed to crew
19th: Talk like a pirate day! *Now with mandatory costumes and maybe missing body parts!*
21th-22th: Weather permitting the Maiden's Hair comet should be visible in the sky! *Likely chance of White Comet Empire invaders low.
26th-29th Mist-ery Event! A few of the crew are a bit shimmery and they might not recognize you and trying to touch them will result in loss of a memory.

"People around here get real excited." She says, as bellicose in her cynicism as a Hot Topic t-shirt.
Ah, that's the smile she expected out of him. She returns it (sortof; she can't really smile lopsidedly since one side of her mouth is turned up in a permanent sneer) though that might be difficult to see under the scarf.
dpsoig the Hot Topic joke killed me ahaha
He chuckles, "Ha. I'd reckon most 'ave never stepped Foot on a Ship, much less took Prizes. Give 'em a Few Years at Sea; they'll mellow out."
And then they'll be as cynical and experienced as them, and they'll be admitted into the good corners of the mall.

"Haven't really myself, except for a rowboat, but a small traction town's basically a big ship on land, so it wasn't too hard an adjustment."
And that's the closest she'll get to admitting any kind of culture shock. Take it or leave it.

Jim ponders a moment over what the hell a traction town is. A mobile town, moving about on land? It's a fantastical image.
"You've best me in that experience, so on the Whole, we're even. 'Ow does your landlocked Ship move about?"

"Most them on tracks or wheels...some float on the water or skate on the ice sheets...one's even suspended in the air by gasbags."
no subject
"Sounds like a Fairytale, though you're not lyin', are ye?" The question's rhetorical; Jim can tell. "I'd like to see one myself someday."

One thing that's different: It's a lot quieter. In an airship or on a mobile city, you can always hear the rumble of the engines in the background. Here, without survival to always focus on, she's too alone with her thoughts.
"You said you crewed on a bunch of ships before..."

"Aye. Joined a Crew as a Privateer when I was but a small Boy. Garnered the Attention of the Navy after a Time, joined up. Once the War ended, the Crown left their Sailors well high an' dry, so I turned to Piracy. Been Ship to Ship since."
He just won't mention he became a pirate when he mutinied along with his crew. That's not the best thing to advertise on a new ship.

"Well, we won't. Captain Harlock does right by his people."

He got that feeling from the man, but he couldn't resist a joke.

"Good God, tell me you're pullin' my Leg," Kidd says incredulously. "That can't be a real Ship."
no subject
"Telling you, it's real."

"Blimey, now I've 'eard it all. Sea monsters, Davy Jones, an' the Friend Ship," he says, amused. "Sure the Navy hears the Name an' turns Tail straight away."
