After visiting so many civilized, fairly normal islands, it's time for the brave crew of the Katabami to go bother more giant animals on Monsuta.

[Xun Yu looked Kodachi's movement over with a critical eye before she nodded once.]

It's fine.

[She swung decisively.]

Now, at natural speed.

["Natural" for Kodachi meant "lightning fast", so she went through the motions in a blur as she would with her own weapons. It was still a bit odd to her to use a weapon that was that big as opposed to her smaller clubs.]

Hmm - it's different, but not unusual.

[She takes mental stock of Kodachi's speed, but she's used to extraordinary talents, so she takes in stride.]

It's efficient for the task. One precise swing will be all that is necessary.

[She sets down the branch she holds then dusts off her hands.]

Where were you heading?

I was thinking of taking a bath somewhere. I'm still sticky with plant innards.

[She made a face, and then burst out laughing.]

Thank you for teaching me, Miss Xun Yu.

[Add that to her arsenal of things to terrorize people with.]

I hope that the next island we go to has a proper hot spring.

[Xun Yu isn't particularly worried about what that new knowledge will be used for -- a novice in a particular weapon discipline is still a novice.]

...Hot spring?

[She echoes in query.]

You aren't familiar with hot springs?

[Kodachi all but gasped. That was a travesty!]

I'll have to ask Motochika-san if he knows any islands with nice hot springs. Those are the best places to relax.

[Xun Yu laughs softly.]

I'll remember your recommendation.

[For the most part, the life she's leading in this realm is very low stress compared to back home, if not lonelier and less fulfilling.]

[Lonelier? How odd - Kodachi had never really known what it was like to stop being lonely until she came to this world.]

Well, let's head back to the ship, then. I don't want to hunt more of those plants, but now I can dispose of them quickly.

All right. Would you like to lead the way?

[She offers in order to give Kodachi the chance to get to use her new skills -- her own frost aura deters the plants from even attacking. In a climate like this she has a big elemental advantage.]

[Kodachi nodded, holding the polearm aloft as she walked back toward the ship. She easily stabbed through the carnivorous plants that were starting to stir.]

I like this island because of the cute dinosaurs, but the plants are quite irritating. If only I could bring a dinosaur on board . . . I wish they weren't too big!

[Xun Yu follows, allowing the appropriate space between them for the weapon's arc to flow uninterrupted.]

No one is bringing any... [she pauses at the new word] dinosaurs aboard, regardless of their size.

[Her tone is strict. As far as she's concerned, someone needs to display a modicum of common sense.]

The Captain isn't exempt from that rule either.

[Kodachi couldn't help but pout. She wasn't going to bring one on the ship, but why must she be so stern?]
