[As soon as the sun did not rise on the 1st, like others had suggested it would, Gan Ning wanted off Isla Empieza. He put out the call to his crew - get on the ship, leave no man behind. Or woman, Cynthia.

The storm hit while they were two days out from the island. It would take all hands on deck to keep the Nightfury from capsizing, good thing they have a couple of solid dragons to keep things in check. Just watch out for Gaius and his fiery pendant! By the time the storm blows out in the wee hours on the 4th, the charts put them drifting near to Eternal Bliss. Are the residents still pissed at pirates for what Kodachi did? Who cares, they need to land to make repairs. And maybe score some treasure, if anyone wants to go through the marriage requirement.

[A: On Ship]
[On the ship she thankfully didn’t get in trouble over nightmares, but when things went off big she took to the waters. While at the island, if she wasn’t on land, she was swimming back to the ship, climbing up the side and dripping off her goods or once in a while just sitting at the head of the ship and gazing off at the waters or the lands, legs curled under her.]

[B: On Island]
[She wants to go treasure hunting too. At last she has legs and can explore islands and they end up on one where she can’t explore everything unless she was married? That seemed REALLY unfair! So she’s shopping in the village or selling small pearls for things here or there.]

[In general, she can be found around the island, a little sad she can’t go adventuring with others, but is making the best of it and her legs.]

[Treasure hunting would be a great distraction, really! Only, Roxas can't go alone since there's some marriage rule or some nonsense. It's a pity. He finds himself off on the island to explore the parts he can and finds himself staring at that strange girl again. The one who looks entirely too familiar, but he can't for the life of him remember why.

Wait, wasn't she a mermaid before? He seemed vaguely to remember a tail....

Oh well, people change. Roxas should know all about that. She's at a stall and he finds himself wondering what she's looking at. He wanders over himself to peer at the wares, and at his crewmate.]

Hey!

[She's had legs off an on ever since that cursed island! It makes things easier at least. She can explore now! She's checking out Snarfblats at a stand that sells gifts for grooms. She still hasn't heard good music made from them...]

[When Roxas comes near by she smiled at the girl-once-boy, a beaming smile]

Hello! [She tucks her single bag behind her, grinning and bowed a bit to the other, leaning a bit to look up at herhim...] Roxas! How are you doing?

I'm... [He suddenly remembers the freak out he has the day before and sighs a little.] I've been better, but I'll be okay. How are you?

[He wonders what at the stall she finds so interesting. He peers at the various gifts and isn't sure.]

What are you looking at?

[she gave him a sad smile at that] I’m glad you’ll be okay. I’m doing fine enough. I can’t go explore for treasure like the others but I can look over the town.

[at his question she grinned, leaning in and pointing.] My friend told me about these. Snarfblats. they’re human music maker, he said. Look how pretty they are. [tobacco pipe, in ivory colors and everything. ha]

Why can't you go look for treasure?

[Roxas had asked a local about it, but he'd been dismissed, questions left unanswered.]

Really? I don't know anything about that. Or much about music...but Demyx had a sitar!

Something about having to be married to do it. I'm not sure, but it seems like something a bit harder then just... walking! It's very hard to figure out the rumors though.

[she asked around, but it was a lot of people whispering about this or that. then it went to yay! Weddings! It was odd]

You ... don't know about music? Ohmygosh! [her hands came to her mouth, because music is magical! It's wonderful!] When I was little, Music was banned from the Kingdom, after my mother had died. It took a while, but my friends and I got it back. Music is the best.

I never really thought about it, but Demyx would play his sitar a lot, until Saix came and told him to stop fooling around and get to work.

[Probably if it wasn't his weapon, it wouldn't have been allowed.]

I didn't really listen much though. I think there's been music at the parties too, but I don't remember.

[it seems so SAD that he didn’t know the beauty of music! She reached out and grabbed the girl hand and held it with both hands] Roxas! Can you sing? Or drum? Maybe we can find something musical for you to try. It’s so much fun, even if you're not good at it!

[He is surprised when she grabs his hand and he shakes his head.]

I don't think I can do those things but I'm not sure. I never tried it.

I can skateboard though!

[she pouted at first. How sad! Poor dear.] Anyone can do those things. Even if they are bad at it they can pat a drum.

Oh, but... what’s a skateboard?

Can they? Huh...I could try!

[He grins at Ariel.]

A skateboard is like a piece of wood on wheels that you ride on, standing on it. I can do all kinds of tricks too. It's my favourite toy.

[You're not the only one who needed an adventure. Cynthia just came back from the stagnant life of paperwork and training for the pokemon league. She NEEDED an adventure. The champion had been wandering the marketplace for anything worth getting for her crew. Not really an adventure, but a quartermaster's work was never done. That was, until she ran into her favorite fish turned human.

Cynthia called out to her from the stall she was currently checking out. Books. Of course it was books. While her poots floated around her.]

[Are they going to manage any treasure hunting here at all? Doesn't someone have to get hitched? That seems like such an unfair way to keep people from exploring. She knows treasure is important. She has strings of pearls left over from that one day, so she's slowly selling those off to get things. Trading pearls was something she could do back home so it made sense. Still...]

[But she saw the Poots and Cynthia called out to her. She smiled brightly, and ducked around a couple who were shopping as well. Coming over she grinned at the woman] Hello! You're out shopping as well?

Of course, a quartermaster's job is never done after all. Especially when you're taking care of a boat full of men. Plus marketplaces are perfect for gathering information.

So how are you, Ariel? Last time I saw you was...during that frigate thing.

[She smiled as she came to the others side, glad to see her again. She was told she was around, so it was nice to see her in person.] It’s a good thing we have such a fantastic quartermaster to keep the boat full of men afloat.

It’s good to see you though. I was really worried when I couldn’t find you in the water. <small.[she had searched for a while too. mermaid Cynthia went missing and she was very worried]

Yeah, I'm sorry about disappearing like that. Jones sent me home for a bit. I really didn't have control over that decision. But let me tell you, if I did have a choice...

[She pauses for a moment. Thinking about the one reason she would stay.]

I would have stayed.
