[As soon as the sun did not rise on the 1st, like others had suggested it would, Gan Ning wanted off Isla Empieza. He put out the call to his crew - get on the ship, leave no man behind. Or woman, Cynthia.

The storm hit while they were two days out from the island. It would take all hands on deck to keep the Nightfury from capsizing, good thing they have a couple of solid dragons to keep things in check. Just watch out for Gaius and his fiery pendant! By the time the storm blows out in the wee hours on the 4th, the charts put them drifting near to Eternal Bliss. Are the residents still pissed at pirates for what Kodachi did? Who cares, they need to land to make repairs. And maybe score some treasure, if anyone wants to go through the marriage requirement.

Really? Hmm, I guess your magic must be different from mine.

[Which instantly makes it so much cooler.]

Do you think you could show me your magic? I'll show you mine if you want!

[He tilts his head at the question.]

Well, I don't know how to fix it and I asked and no one else seemed to know...and the old lady didn't want to help me, she just said I would be sorry and laughed at me. So I think...either it will stop by itself or I'll find some way later. But in the meantime we were already fighting so I probably need to be able to keep up. I don't want to fail any missions.

[He looks entirely serious about that. Failure is not an option.]

If you've been like this for awhile now, then I'm not sure it will stop on its own. Potions and such, they usually have a time limit to them. Glamour Charms would only cover your real appearance, not change you altogether. I don't know of any spells that would have this effect. It's really very curious. [Pause.] Though, now that I think about it... What island did this woman live on?

[He lifts his wand again as he waits for an answer.]

I don't mind showing you. We could go spell for spell if you like, or if there's anything in particular you want to see...?

It was..it was...[Roxas scratches his head. He's answered this question before, he know he has. He waits a moment and tugs on his hair a little with a frown.]

I can't remember. [He mutters glumly and sighs softly, watching the wand.]

I only have a few spells, but you can pick. I don't know what kind of magic you can do!

Oh. Well, it's no matter. Only, there's someone on my crew who also had a Witch cast a spell on them. She was a ghost before and now she actually has a body. I thought perhaps it might've happened on the same island, but to be honest, I can't remember the name of it either.

[He gives an unconcerned shrug, brushing that aside. Then he idly scratches his chin with his wand as he thinks.]

I can do all kinds. Some spells are much more boring than others. Hm. Okay—

[Draco looks down the length of the deck, and then suddenly flicks his wand out.]

Accio.

[And summons an empty barrel ~~that your crew totally has on deck for some reason~~ toward them.]

You don't need this, right? Never mind, I'll just repair it when we're done. You said you could do a fire spell, yes? So.

[He waves his wand again, setting an invisible barrier around the barrel so that whatever damage he does to it will stay contained, and then he points the wand a little more forcefully.]

Incendio!

[And causes the barrel to abruptly go up in flames.]

[The summoning is cool. He misses the barrier, but then the barrel goes up in flames and his eyes light up in awe.]

Cool!

[That's really all he can think to say. It isn't as impressive as Lea's fire tricks, but it is more impressive than his own.]

Okay, well I'll show you my fire spell, but if you really want to see the amazing fire stuff, you should ask Lea.

[He'll probably never stop associating Lea with fire. He holds out his hand and materializes a still somewhat small fireball and shoots it over the side of the deck.]

[His eyebrows go up a bit as he watches the fireball shoot out across the water.]

Nice. I can see how that's more of an offensive spell. A lot of my magic can be used for attacks, of course, but some stuff is just meant to be practical. Who's Lea?

[He waves his wand again while waiting for an answer, canceling the fire spell, and then a quickly muttered Reparo restores the barrel back to its original state.]

You said you could do ice or something, too, right? Blizzard, was it?

[He has no idea if that actually means Roxas can get a snowstorm going or what, but regardless -- he points his wand at the barrel again.]

Glacius!

[And turns it into a block of ice this time.]

Lea is my best friend!

[Roxas grins brightly and watches with interest. It's a little different from his spell, but like he said, his are offensive attacks. Roxas charges up a blue ball instead of the red fireball. This one isn't quite as big and he hurls it at the ground next to the barrel. It bursts into a little icy mess, freezing a small part of the deck.]

I know it's not that impressive looking but the Heartless don't like it. It does a little damage...

Magic is always impressive, regardless of whether it looks it or not. Is Lea from your world? What's a Heartless?

[He looks down at Roxas' work, grinning a little.]

We could turn the deck into an ice skating rink.

[Thaws the ice with another wand wave, then points it at the barrel again and makes it lift into the air. Some more swishes and flicks and a couple Transfiguration spells have the barrel transforming into a lantern with various shapes and swirls cut into the sides so that the light casts patterns on the deck as it pours out. He twitches the wand again, sending the lantern spinning gently.]

Make a party out of it, you know?

I've watched a few parties!

[Roxas needs to get out more. He watches the transformation with interest.]

How did you do that?

[He's completely in awe, and then remembers his questions.]

Yeah. Lea and I used to work together in Organization XIII. A Heartless is a creature without a heart. They...all pretty much take hearts. There's different kinds like the basic ones, Dusks and Nobodies.

[He's getting adept at explaining this.]

Draco snorts lightly.]

Well. They're very aptly named, these Heartless things. Your world is quite good at that. I assume they take hearts because they don't have their own?

[What a bizarre concept. Draco looks up at his lantern, grinning a little.]

I have magic in my blood. Where I'm from, it's in everything we do. We live and breath it. Because able to use it is as natural as learning to walk. It's not meant for just offense or defense, like I said. It's just...everything.

The little ones do, I think. They're kind of like monsters so why...I'm not sure. But I think that's why. Dusks don't really take hearts, well, not on their own. Mostly they work with the Nobodies, and Nobodies wanted hearts to make Kingdom Hearts. Which is, um...

[He tries to think about how to describe it.]

It's a big heart up in the sky, but I'm not clear what Xemnas wants to do with it. Sora might've known. It's bad though. I'm a Nobody and Lea is a Somebody.

[Just to make it all clear.]

I don't think people use magic for other things at home, but I really don't know. We just use it for fighting. All the Nobodies had their own thing, but I can do a lot of spells. I learned more while I was here, right?

[He's repeating himself, but this time he's unaware.]

Do you know, you have a really poor habit of dropping people's names as though I'm supposed to have any idea who they are.

[Draco says, as though he doesn't make it a point himself to babble about his world to anyone who will listen even though he knows they don't have a clue what he's talking about.]

Your world sounds complicated. The only hearts I know of are the ones that beat in our chests and keep us alive.

[He absently twitches his wand back and forth, watching as the lantern sways with his motions.]

You have some wicked spells, though. But I think I'll stick with my own.

Oh! Hmm...usually Lea complains I can't remember anyone's name. Sora is my Somebody.

[He nods.]

Complicated yeah. Gives me a headache sometimes. I like your magic too!

[He grins brightly.]

Do you think I could learn other magic?

[His somebody, huh. Well, Draco isn't here to judge. ...Okay, maybe just a little. Pure-blood upbringing and all.]

Other magic in general, or other magic like mine? Because truthfully, I don't know. Like I said, in my world, we're born with the ability. I'm not sure about your world, but that you can just purchase spells... [Still weird.] But I suppose it couldn't hurt trying to learn more, right?

[He gives Roxas a sharp look suddenly.]

Do you remember my name?

[Different connotation, but Draco isn't off the mark.]

Yeah, maybe. I wonder how it would work though.

[He scratches his head. Lea might know. At the look he ducks his head sheepishly before shaking it.]

Uh, no.

I'm not sure. I need a wand to properly use my magic. If I knew you better, I might try letting you hold it. You could see if it does anything for you.

[But that's so not happening right now.

He rolls his eyes at the sheepishness.]

It's Draco. Means 'dragon', if that helps.

It's okay, maybe I'll think of something!

[Draco is making a point of telling him his name again, so Roxas pulls out a little notepad and writes it down. 'Boy with cool magic - Draco, means dragon.']

Like that?

[Just...watches. Then glances down at the notepad and makes an amused sound.]

Yes, that's right. You have a hard time with these things? Is it just names, or is there more?

[Considering the entry before his was 'Guy who bought the meat stick - Jesse', it's a recurring problem.]

Yeah, it's kind of everything. I forget a lot of stuff.

[He sighs, resigned and shrugs lightly.]

I'm pretty used to it.

[Eyes him for a moment.]

Have you tried...not...forgetting things?

[Taps his chin with his wand, then perks up suddenly.]

Oh, or perhaps I could brew a Memory Potion for you!

[Roxas snorted and bit out a rather sarcastic comment.]

No, maybe I should try that.

[He's been spending too much time with Lea. He rolls his eyes at Draco.]

It isn't on purpose. I...try really hard to get it.

What does that do?

[The sarcasm bounces right off Draco. He merely raises an eyebrow, wand still idly under his chin.]

Maybe you should. Flashcards, have people quiz you, anything that would help you retain information better. As for a Memory Potion, it's something that would allow you to have improved access to your memories. Faces would be easier to recognize, forgotten details or buried events from your past might come to light more easily. And so on and so forth. Though I doubt very much that I'd be able to find Jobberknoll feathers here, and they're an essential ingredient. I'd likely have to purchase them from Miss Margie.

[It's possible Draco didn't know he was being sarcastic and he sighed a little, looking at his feet.]

Yeah, I tried the cards before. And playing a game where you look for matching cards. Lea used to quiz me a little, but it's kinda hopeless.

[He's accepted his fate, for now.]

Lea thinks once Sora unscrambles my brain I'll be okay.

[He stares at Draco for a moment.]

Can it...can it really do that? There's...a lot I can't remember.

Hm, well sometimes if your head is that damaged, there's no helping it. But yes, that's the entire point of the potion: to help restore one's memories.

[He shrugs a little.]

It's nothing I can guarantee, but it wouldn't hurt you any to give it a go.

I think it is. Naminé did something to it. See, when Sora lost his heart and I became a Nobody, I didn't have anything up here, but I learned stuff but when Riku caught me a year later, Naminé took all my memories away again. I got them back all of a sudden, but some of them were missing. Maybe some of them are confusing too.

[Missing or out of order, not exactly the most stable mind he has. People have been rooting around in his head.]

If it might help, maybe I could try. It would be good to remember more.
