With the nightmares finally subsided, the Spades weigh anchor at the next island. Thankfully, the entire thing is full of water parks! Your generous Commanders will find a way to work out a deal with one of the medium sized parks on the waterfront for an extended stay pass- discounted, of course, since they'll be buying in bulk, but if you want to go to the other ones you'll do it on your own coin- or have to sneak in. Make sure to read the island description, there's a TON of things to do here! Catchalls, dated threads, etc, whatever. Just jump in, have fun, and to hell with fiddly particulars. I have no idea how long we'll be here.

[His eyebrow raises to learn that the island was the furthest she'd ever been. Shit, no wonder she felt like she'd mucked up hardcore. She knew about a hell of a lot more than she'd done, then, if their "art discussions" were any indication.

By some miracle, Namur manages to keep his mouth shut about it. Truly a once in a lifetime occurrence. He listens to the tone of her voice, and sniffs at the air a little as she talks, trying to catch everything she was saying- not just with her words but with her entire being.]

Man, that's rough. Mean, better in the end cuz it ain't fair t' neither a y' t' keep pretendin', but shit. Ain't no good with this kinda thing either. Mean. 'S happened a time or two 'fore but it ain't like I get all caught up stickin' all my pearls in one oyster, y' know? Guessin' shit still ain't good 'tween y' an' Ikki either, huh? Too bad y' couldn't a hooked up with him there at Dickshit Island. Sheheh! Boy wouldn't that a solved a couple problems.

[He rolls his eyes and plops his jaw down on his fist, looking forlorn right along with her.]

*Yes, Selphie definitely had known more than what she'd actually done. In some part that was thanks to her talks over Namur's drawings, but also because of the many romantic novels she'd read, and thanks to some of her conversations with friends*

It is more fair this way. And the problem was that I had my pearls in...more than one oyster. But I shouldn't have. I really shouldn't. Or...something.

*Selphie sighs at the thought, knowing that the entire time she was with Aya that she loved Ikki, and that in itself was unfair. At his mention of Ikki, Selphie practically jumps beside him, feet kicking the sand. She laughs, a little too awkwardly, and waves a hand in front of her face to cool her down*

Ahaha! Ha! Yeah...well...too bad. Or..y'know, not too bad...

*She won't just come out and say that it happened, but it is rather obvious*

[Namur's jaw drops, then he starts laughing.]

Holy shit y' totally did! Sheheheheheh! Lord a the Sea, y' got with Ikki. Hell yeah, get it, girl!

[He goes for a high five but a thought hits him right at that moment, and the high five drops to a pointed finger.]

Didn't freak out or some shit afterwards, did he? 'S that why y's all sad?

*Selphie just vigorously shakes her head, because she's not actually sure how she's supposed to react, but her cheeks are much more obviously red. Then she can't help but give a pleased giggle. She turns to Namur, understanding his concern, but again she shakes her head, this time to show that he's definitely wrong in what he's thinking*

Oh! Oh no, nothing like that at all. He didn't freak out or anything so it's - it's fine. It's good.

*Missing out the part about how she and Ikki have kinda hooked up once or twice since leaving that island. That stuff is way too private for her to say*

Jus' did! [And that just makes it worse.] 'S cuz my Ma, she- oh hell, what is it y' humans call it? Family resemblance? 'S what it is. She blushes all the damn time too but nobody notices so much cuz she's pink like a coral. But they notice on me cuz I'm blue an' it sticks out like a shitty salmon. Jus' happens. So shut up an' tell me 'bout Ikki. Y' hookin' up 'gain or jus' bein' awkward? [Cuz that request totally makes sense.]

*She scoots a little closer to him and pokes his cheek, quite happy to distract the conversation from herself. But when he asks the question again she concentrated on brushing some specks of sand from her knee*

[Namur closes the eye closest to where she poked, wrinkling his nose.]

A'ight, fine. 'S private. But y' oughta if y' ain't. Cuz y' if y' love each other there ain't no reason not t'.

[He lets himself chuckle, a little heavier than usual.]

Ma's a lotta things but I dunno that I'd call her cute. Sheheheh! Color's where they got her name from though. Sango. She's an orphan so who the hell knows what her official name'd be, an' really it don't matter cuz a name's jus' somethin' for people t' call y', y' know? So she's pink an' Sal's kinda brown like sand an' the older li'l shits is brown cuz they're half human an' then Tao's green. We don't look like each other but we smell kinda like each other an' act like each other in a family, y' know?

*Selphie leaves it at that as she clears her throat, allowing Namur to guess from that whatever he might like. She sits up when he talks about his family, looking interested*

Your mom is an orphan? But she has a family now - so that's all that matters. I wanna be like that one day too! But wow - that sounds like a pretty colourful family!

Mm. I'm her only spawn but the place I'm from used t' be a giant orphanage 'til they shut it down. But people kept bringin' their babies an' jus' leavin' 'em there when they wasn't wanted an' some a 'em managed t' survive an' kinda help the others 'long, so now there's a bigass city down there. Ma likes t' get 'round but I guess after me she got more careful, sheheheh! But she's always bringin' in other li'l shits t' the house an' helpin' 'em live. Hell, count all them then I got brothers an' sisters I don't even know 'bout. 'S how Sal wound up there though. She was livin' on the surface hidin' that she's a mermaid 'til she got herself knocked up by some human passin' through an' then realized there mighta been a thing or two the doc'd notice come spawnin' time, sheheh! So she calls me up an' asks me t' take her down t' the Island only she ain't got no family or nothin' so Ma said she'd take her in, an' that's what happened. Told Marius an' Mizuko when people give 'em shit 'bout bein' half breeds t' remind 'em I'm their Pop an' if people still gives 'em shit 's jus' cuz they take after me from the waist down an' their Ma from the waist up. Sheheheh! 'S creepy seein' 'em side by side cuz they do look 'zactly the same almost an' that ain't... how seafolk usually turn out, even if they's twins.

[He shakes his head like he's still trying to figure out how to accept it.]

*Selphie frowns a little unhappily at that - that just wasn't fair*

But that's really great that your mom would do that. Cause...all those people - they might be all lost and sad and all sorts of bad stuff otherwise...

*She doesn't look particularly comfortable at the thought of people being knocked up and left to deal with the baby on their own, all the same. Still, she does finally smile at him*

[Namur lays back slowly, shifting his fin so it won't hurt, and puts his arms behind his head.]

*Selphie watches Namur as he lies back down, but to answer the question she looked out across the water*

I don't have a family. At least, not in the way people usually mean it. I grew up in an orphanage, so my family are really my best friends who I was there with. And there was Matron, who used to look after us. So, I wasn't alone at least but... I have no idea who my mom and dad were. And no one ever chose to adopt me. So... parents isn't something I ever really had, and I always wondered what they might be like.
