Meeting of the Minds

Who: Everyone who chooses to participate
Where: Breakneck Cay
When: December 5th
What: A summit to get down to business and get this situation sorted out, L-Elf-style
Warnings: Possible violence?
Style: Any
Status: Open

Upon arriving on Breakneck Cay, if you can navigate the shoals safely and find safe mooring, you'll notice that the beach is more or less abandoned unless you count the countless shipwrecks an snarled piles of debris strewn across the shore. If you approach the jungle, you'll notice a makeshift sign pointing towards a path leading into the trees. There's a lengthy note tacked to it with a detailed map, an exhaustive list of rules and etiquette for participating in a military summit, and probably more if anyone actually got past the part with the map.

The meeting is to be held in a strangely silent clearing. Upon arriving, you'll find L-Elf sitting on the huge stone in the center, fast asleep. It's immediately obvious that this is not a social occasion or it at least wasn't planned by someone with any idea how to make guests feel comfortable. There's nowhere to sit except on the ground and definitely no refreshments. It might be a good idea to send someone back to the ship to pick something up if you want to make it through this thing.

Good point. You don't want it to bite you by mistake. What's in the crate besides the snake, though?

[And leaves.]

[He rolls his eyes at the idea that the snake poses any sort of danger to him.]

I was immune to viper venom by the time I was four.

[Seriously, Vyse.]

I have my paper and my pens and my ink in the crate so I can take notes during the meeting.

[There is no way he could've known that.]

...I didn't know that.

[That's actually pretty cool, and he supposes it's a good thing for an assassin to be immune to.]

Oh. Good idea. I should be doing that too, probably...

You should, because Sin won't.

[Ja'far sighs. Sin is kind of predictable like that. Right now he has the excuse of not being able to write, but something tells Ja'far that even after he learns, he's going to continue to find new and different excuses why he shouldn't have to do it.]

This sounds very important, so we need to make sure we understand everything that's going on.

Uh huh...

[They should get together and try teaching him. Or forcing him to write stuff. He may be the captain, but he doesn't have absolute authority.]

It sounds important enough. I'm not too sure what exactly is going on, but I'm kinda surprised they picked this island to hold their meeting.

['Cause y'know, bones on the beach.]

It was all explained over the journal.

[Is he the only one who reads?]

The thinking behind it makes sense, though I'm still not sure if it's going to be a good idea in the end. Getting here is hard and there's no one here to see us, but who knows what sort of animals live here. I'm sure he was counting on there being enough people here who can defend themselves, but I don't know if he factored in stupidity.

[Present company included.]

No it wasn't. I know there was mention of combining some of the smaller crews into bigger ones...I didn't know it was going to be a meeting this big.

Unless I misread something.

[Which is entirely possible.]

No one factors in stupidity, that's why so many plans go awry.

[Also present company might tie Ja'far to a tree if he keeps being a brat.]
