It's party time on Deesuko Ballia but things get a little out of hand and the brave crew of the Katabami find out that sometimes partying too hard can have serious consequences.

In other words, apparently this is a harem anime now.

[Xun Yu shakes her head with a faint smile at the comment about the tooth. She doesn't answer the question that follows immediately. How much should she say? There are times when it's inconvenient to lack the kind of feminine charm that Kodachi and Diao Chan wield.]

Well, I... I would rather not head back alone. Am I inconveniencing you?

No, not at all! You only surprised me a bit.

[Motochika shrugs that off immediately. He always has time for his crew and Xun Yu rarely asks for it, so he's more than willing to spare her as much attention as she wants.]

I was meaning to stay around and drink a while, though, just so you know.

[No one will give her trouble while he's around, surely, but she most likely won't enjoy the, er, ambiance of the place all that much. Still, if she's willing to put up with that, he's happy to have her company.]

I'm a patient woman.

[Unobtrusive too, although she's not so sure that that's what Motochika looks for in company. Either way, she offers him a small but grateful smile.]

[Motochika nods, but shortly begins to fiddle with his drink as the silence grows between them. He ought to bring up some topic of conversation, he supposes, but short of talking business, he's not quite certain what to bring up. Bragging about his exploits on the island is likely to earn him a scolding about wastefulness. He'd say it's like sitting at a bar with his mother, but his mother was far, far more indulgent than Xun Yu would ever dream of being. She'd probably end up buying him drinks and telling him how cute he is when he drinks them.]

So...er...the weather sure is...er...

[In existence? What is he saying?]

[Xun Yu laughs at that -- whoever thought she'd see Motochika so awkward when the topic wasn't women -- and takes pity upon him. Kind of.]

I've been wondering, Captain...

[Is she pushing things too far by asking? But it's a mystery that she simply cannot solve, and so she plows on.]

Why are you still married to Ragna?

[Motochika's brain requires a moment to start functioning again after grinding to a screeching halt. That's a turn he wasn't expecting the conversation, such as it is, to take.]

Why wouldn't I be? There may not be much advantage in it beyond being damn hilarious at times, but I see no reason to have anything done about it. Besides, he can't well pull his whole lone wolf act when he has a husband he's supposed to be dutiful toward. Not that he is, of course, but you take my meaning.

[Not that she's of the opinion that Ragna deserves such consideration. It complicates the Azure Grimoire matter, too. No one else even knows that their souls could be at risk if the restrictions on Ragna's arm shift.]

Do you see good in everyone?

Hm? I try to, aye. There are some that are totally bereft of it, of course, and that saddens me a bit, but I tend to think most people have at least a bit of good in them.

[There are really only two people he can consider worthy of his hatred. Everyone else he tries to at least give the benefit of the doubt. He almost lost a great deal because he failed to do that, let seeds of doubt be planted that drove him to mistrust someone he never should have. He doesn't ever want to repeat that.]

Ragna can be a handful, certainly, and a headache, but he's a good man when you come right down to it.
