high_seas | A Water Park with Hammers

[Zoro did promise Luffy that he would take him swimming. Before they came to blows over the cats, after Luffy signed him up for that dumb contest, before they won a shard in said contest. So, Zoro is quite content fulfilling his promise. The water park isn't totally his style, but even he has to admit it's a lot more impressive than the little one on Gun Frontier.

By day he might be snoring away in a tube on the lazy river, if dragged to the park, otherwise he'll be enjoying the beach to the fullest. Meditating in the waves, splashing around with Luffy, or just lounging on the sand. It's a nice break from being a pirate.

By night he's usually close to the ship, but a bonfire on the beach wouldn't be out of the question. Or maybe he and the cook will sneak off to the bath house at Onsen Sanctuary. Zoro will still sit up on watch all night, so the others can enjoy themselves, but at least this time he's not sulking in a corner of the crow's nest the whole time. He'd like to have a vacation, too.]

[Early morning on Sanji's birthday, before the sun is even up, breakfast is on the table. Mostly it has fruits and stuff on it that Luffy had found around. Coconuts and bananas and sour little pears and melons he'd stolen from a garden and some berries that he didn't know the name of. But there were also cooked foods there. Mostly on a stick and only some of them chewed. Like lizards and birds and crabs.

Luffy scatters from ship to shore as he brings in all the bounty he can find and spends a lot of time waving up the fire over a large fish he caught. Feel free to help him if you wish or just watch him go about his task as seriously as if he were preparing for a fight]

[Sanji is awake at his usual time, stifling a yawn as he wanders into the galley and then scuffing a hand through his hair. He walks right past the table, only to abruptly pause a few feet after it and then backtrack to give it a confused look.

Huh.

He glances around the galley like he expects an explanation to be written on a wall somewhere, before quite abruptly remembering that today is his birthday.

...Oh yeah.

That prompts him to look over the table again, grinning a little this time. He can guess whose handiwork this is. B'awwww. He needs tea to go with all this, though -- so he snatches up a banana and heads over to the counter to make himself a cup.]

[he has stuff he wants to do and slides he wants to go on but he hasn't felt like going on any of them actively yet so so far he's just been looking. He also wants to get in the mood for it first and the heat of the day is making him a little sleepy so he's thinking about what to do when he sees Zoro floating down the lazy river.

hear that tapping sound? A belly flop is going to be happening in an innertube near you.

[Luffy is approaching. Though the first thing you might see of him is a gigantic cooked fish head as he tries to get it and the rest of the cooked fish through the door of the galley]

[completely oblivious, because even after all this time he still doesn't think it's smarter to keep a haki-sense out for Luffy even in the most laid-back of moments. Especially during laid-back moments. Has no idea it's coming until it's too late. His eye sleepily blinks open about one second before that shadow hovering over him lands. Hardly enough time to even go OH SHIT FUCK SHIT!

Those inner tubes are nice, though, they stay afloat even after someone has belly-flopped onto you. Of course, they made a big enough wave to knock several other people over, and are both now soaked, but eh. It's a water park, that's what it's for.

Zoro just groans. He should have known.]

[nope. Not quite satisfactory. Luffy shifts until he's sprawled out on Zoro's warm chest, chest to chest with his head bumping under the swordsman's jaw and his own hands dangling in the cool water. Mm perfect]

Na, Zoro... I've decided.

[shit, Luffy, don't squirm like that. Zoro sighs and resigns himself to his position, though he squints a bit at that comment.]

What have you decided?

[Of course you should resign yourself. It's comfortable!]

Yeah. I'm going to find a way to punch ghosts and when that bastard comes up again I'll send him flying.

[that makes him grin, and flop his head back onto the tube]

I like this idea. He really does need a good old-fashioned ass kicking.

[he was still conscious to see Jones at Noctem...and it wasn't a pretty sight, but he's seen worse. Bastard.]

[Does, indeed, see that! And just kinda watches in quiet amusement until Luffy manages to squeeze the giant shitty thing through the door. He's leaning back against the counter, cup of tea beside him as he pops pieces of banana into his mouth.]

Yo, Luffy. Mornin'.

[You know, in case he didn't notice Sanji was there.]

I wonder if he's gonna fight alone or have other of his nakama with him. Zombies are easy, though right?

[he shifts around again so he's lying the opposite way and can paddle his hands with the current. Hope you don't mind his feet. The path splits here and there's an option to go from lazy river to danger river, though the water looks pretty calm both ways so maybe danger river had a surprise. Either way, Luffy paddles down that one.

As they're floating along he grins at Zoro's stupid ankle scars and pokes one of them]

You'd've looked pretty dumb without feet, you know.

[closes his eye again, so he has no idea which way they're headed]

You think it'll be zombies, huh? Zombies are better than ghosts, I guess. You can cut zombies.

[feels that poking! Twitches a foot, because it tickles a little]

Oi, it was the best idea I had at the time.

Yeah but zombie parts can still move so you gotta cut 'em really small.

[sees that twitch and grins.]

What was the worst? [he bet it was pretty stupid. Though as he waits he tries to tickle Zoro's foot because it's right there, absently knocking away a piranha that tries to bite]

I don't remember. [twitches again, a bit bigger this time like he's trying to shoo Luffy away from even thinking of it] I remember you being late, that's about it. Damn, that was a long time ago...

I bet it was dumb. [but he doesn't care about what he's saying because there's foot tickling to investigate he has to bat away another pirahna again. And a third. He grabs at a fourth and it chomps onto his hand

AHH! I'M SUPPOSED TO EAT YOU! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT ME!

[sits back on Zoro's chest and tries to shake the thing off]

Oh Sanji!

[he had to eat some of it off but he manages]

It's breakfast. [watches him hopefully] Do you like it?

[he's fine up until there is suddenly movement everywhere and OOF LUFFY GEEZUS GET OFF. Zoro finally cracks his eye back open, in time to realize that their tube is now surrounded by tiny hungry fish with teeth.]

What the hell are you...what the shit? Oi!

[smacking them out of the air as they leap out of the water. Little fuckers!]

[Nods with a grin.]

'Course. It's a lot of food -- you did all this? The hell time did you get up?

THIS IS A STUPID RIVER!

[pulls the pirahna off and shakes his hand, sucking on it where blood comes out.]

Foro... [do something.

It's about here that the rapids start, too bad the fishies are keeping up so far]

I didn't sleep yet. [but he's okay for now] I wanted to make it special. [he's still absently chewing on the fish he brought in] I wanted to make you a cake but I couldn't figure out how.

[excuse you river he did not sign up for rapids. Rapids are not lazy, that's false advertising.

Zoro is busy fending off the piranhas that are going for the shiny dangly things hanging off his ear, and doesn't get good and situated to ride out the rapids this way. He's still got a fish clipped to his earlobe at the first jolt.]

Augh! What the hell is this? Luffy, hang on!

[They nearly flip at the first real roll, but Zoro manages to hang onto the tube, if not Luffy himself. And lands on his stomach on the tube, much better.]

Heh, this is plenty. I wasn't expecting anything.

[Moves to grab a plate and piles more fruit from the table onto it.]

Thanks... And don't worry about a shitty cake, I'll make my own. [As he do.] You gonna put that fish down or stand there eating all of it?

[he hangs on!

Well most of him hangs on.

There's an arm around Zoro's waist that's hanging on and the rest of him is underwater kinda covered in piranha]
