[sits back on Zoro's chest and tries to shake the thing off]

[he's fine up until there is suddenly movement everywhere and OOF LUFFY GEEZUS GET OFF. Zoro finally cracks his eye back open, in time to realize that their tube is now surrounded by tiny hungry fish with teeth.]

What the hell are you...what the shit? Oi!

[smacking them out of the air as they leap out of the water. Little fuckers!]

THIS IS A STUPID RIVER!

[pulls the pirahna off and shakes his hand, sucking on it where blood comes out.]

Foro... [do something.

It's about here that the rapids start, too bad the fishies are keeping up so far]

[excuse you river he did not sign up for rapids. Rapids are not lazy, that's false advertising.

Zoro is busy fending off the piranhas that are going for the shiny dangly things hanging off his ear, and doesn't get good and situated to ride out the rapids this way. He's still got a fish clipped to his earlobe at the first jolt.]

Augh! What the hell is this? Luffy, hang on!

[They nearly flip at the first real roll, but Zoro manages to hang onto the tube, if not Luffy himself. And lands on his stomach on the tube, much better.]

[he hangs on!

Well most of him hangs on.

There's an arm around Zoro's waist that's hanging on and the rest of him is underwater kinda covered in piranha]

[he gets an arm around the tube first, and then when he's certain of his grip, snags the rubbery arm and starts hauling. Piranhas and all. Those are your problem, Luffy, right now he's only got two arms and two legs and that's not nearly enough to keep them stable on this damn inner tube.

If he were inclined to praying, Zoro would be praying for this thing to not pop on the rocks right about now.]

Blehhhghhh [water logged and pulling the fish off him as he clings with one arm around Zoro's neck now.]

Gehh get off dumb things. [he sees they're going head toward a rock and pushes them away from it with a stretched out hand, and then another one]

They really named this river well! haha

[glances over his shoulder to make sure Luffy is okay, and just sort of scowls at the fish. Dumb fish.]

No they didn't, this is supposed to be the lazy river! There's nothing - oof - lazy about this!

[at least he's got a good grip and can ride this out, tugging the tube to keep it from bashing head-on into any rocks Luffy misses. And, really, once they get a good pace and aren't being dashed to pieces, it's kind of fun. But not lazy. Not at all lazy.]

Yeah! [pulls off the last fish and sends it flipping into the water. Most of them seem to be gone by now] I changed to the danger one! It's pretty exciting huh?

[there seems to be a deep roaring up ahead as if, at some point, things are going to take a downward turn. But for now, fish free, Luffy is enjoying it.]

Let's go faster!

[BOGGLES AT HIM]

You did what? You dumbass!

[waaaaait...that roaring...

It can't be.

Zoro really really hopes it's not what he thinks it is. But it probably is.

Cue frantically looking around for some escape route, some way to steer the tube to the shoreline or something. Anything. Maybe if he makes a rubber lasso out of the idiot on his back and tries to snag a tree branch...]

Let's go faster. [gleam!]

[With that in mind he shifts up more securely on Zoro's back and begins to paddle fiercely for that roaring. He bets it's a waterfall and that's gonna be fun!}

[of course he is, he's Luffy. Zoro is still looking for an out, though with Luffy on his shoulders he can't quite sit up and do anything. He'll just have to move from a crouch, then.

He reaches over his shoulder and grabs for a handful of rubber, going for an arm but maybe ending up with his face]

If I die from something stupid like falling off a waterfall, I'm going to kill you.

I wanna go off it! I bet it's really big. [frown frown] Anyway you're a good swimmer right?

Of course I'm a good swimmer, that's not the point. The point is how much air there is between where we are and were you think I'm gonna be swimming.

[the trees thin out, too, so there won't be a lot of places for him to try to rubber-lasso to save them the drop. Hahaha shit.]

The current's too strong, I think we're kinda fucked.

Shishishi Great. [wraps himself around Zoro and pats his head] Don't worry, you'll be fine. [he leans forward seeing the river far far below]

I like this ride.

[WELP.

looks desperately around one last time before giving in to fate. One deep breath, and he's ready to meet death.]

I am so going to kick your aaaaaaaaaa.....

[and over they go! He does not like this ride.]

[grits his teeth, closes his eye, and prays Luffy fuusens them out of there.

Well, at least they didn't die! But holy shit he left his stomach about a hundred feet that way and hitting the water hurts like fuck. Zoro comes up for breath, spluttering, and then checks to see if Luffy was wrapped tightly enough not to come loose when they hit the water below. Else, he's going to have to go fishing.]

[still hanging on by his feet and one arm cuz the other is holding his hat. He's watter logged as hell but happy]

That was fuuun. Shishishibleeh [rests his head on Zoro's shoulder.]

We should do it again.

No. Once was plenty. Now hang on, or I'll tie you in knots so I can swim without losing you.

[strikes out for the nearest shore, with a good manly breaststroke]

Shishishi. [he likes this, too. He rests his cheek on Zoro's hair and sighs contentedly] That was a lot of fun. [happy happy]

I'm glad you're strong. [it makes him feel like Zoro can do anything. Even going over a waterfall. And he doesn't have to worry cuz Zoro will be there]

[for all his spluttering and protesting, he was probably more than strong enough to take that fall all along]

Told you I would be. Gotta keep you from drowning, don't I?

Shishishi yep!

[and for a bit he's content to lie there.

...but then he smells a something tasty wafting along the breeze... But he's too weak to stretch at all so...he sniffs around a bit]

Hey, Zoro... [grabs both sides of Zoro's head and turns it.] Got that way.

Huhwhaa...?

[it's not toward shore, but as soon as his head is turned, he automatically starts swimming in that direction]

Why, what's up?

Food!

[but hey, that's pretty neat! He turns Zoro's head a little bit the other way wondering if he can make him swerve back and forth]
