[Motochika retook the wheel, setting his anchor down at his feet. It was a stroke of good luck that it's not the entire fleet firing at them, but pointing out what a relief that was wasn't exactly the best way to boost morale and drum up fighting spirit in the crew.]
Don't even give them a chance to reconsider that!

... Hey, Sea Devil. How 'bout we stop fooling around? Just take us closer to 'em so I can get over there and end it already.
[That suggestion is probably closer to the "things to never do during a naval battle" end of the scale, but in Ragna's head it's a perfectly reasonable solution. Given the number of opponents the enemy ships seem to have on board... he sincerely doubts it'd take him more than a few minutes at most. One could perhaps consider it a sign of overconfidence, but experience says there's more to it than that.]
no subject
How close do you need? I don't want those guns making a dent in my hull but if you're willing to jump a bit...
[Well, a lot. He should build catapults.]
no subject
If he's deseperate enough, I can drop him.
[Though that requires a belief that she won't just drop him into the ocean, which is always a temptation.]
But if you want to get closer, I'll stop their barrage from touching the ship.
no subject
I'll take her in close. Might as well look them in the eyes so they know who it is that's sending them to the bottom of the ocean. If it looks like there's no funny business on deck, then you can toss Ragna at them. Perhaps Mitsunari or Kodachi as well if they're up to it.
no subject
[He wouldn't trust Xun Yu not to stab him if she happened to hold anything remotely sharp, so you can't expect him to take his chances here. Besides, that's what airdashes were invented for.]
Kodachi's staying here.
[Not because he doubts her ability to handle herself while there, but rather because she's still a teenage girl and Ragna sincerely believes she doesn't need to witness the carnage he intends to bring about.
Mitsunari's feelings are of understandably less concern.]
no subject
[She acknowledges, before she looks between Ragna and Kodachi, faintly curious.]
It's really no trouble, and quite safe.
[She kneels neatly, and places her palms flat on the deck as the violet aura of her magic flames from within her.]
no subject
I can go over there and sink their ships! [She was talking to Motochika, but her eyes were trained on Ragna. She wasn't certain what he was up to, but she could guess that it was because he wanted to protect her for one reason or another - little did she know he meant to shield her virgin eyes.]
[The battle with that hallucination of Hazama was still fresh in her mind, after all, and Ragna had spent it trying to get her out of the way.]
no subject
His wives are fighting.]
Er...there are quite a few ships out there...you could go to different ones... Might get the job done faster anyway.
[If they start fighting on this ship, it'll sink faster than it would with anything their enemies might try.]
no subject
[It was a good idea, and Kodachi nodded. Something for each wife to do.]
Brilliant - the faster we get this done with, the better! I wish I had a dinosaur to ride into battle, though.
Miss Xun Yu, could you take me to the crow's nest of one of the ships?
no subject
[He muttered it mostly to himself as he steered the Katabami closer to the enemy ships. Nothing looked too out of the ordinary. No big, elaborate weapons or anything of that sort. However, that didn't mean the enemy didn't have tricks up their sleeves. They always seemed to, really.]
There should be a few of those signal flare things in a box on the deck. Take one in case you need to call us in. Who knows what those blackguards have in store this time.
no subject
[Ragna doesn't sound entirely pleased with the arrangement, but it's probably the best he can hope for. As long as she doesn't get dragged into a bloodbath, that should be enough.
As for Motochika's suggestion, well.]
Won't be needing that.
[Let's be real here, with how much of a stubborn ass he is, he's more likely to go down with that ship rather than ask for help. Besides, the thought they could have something he wouldn't be able to handle doesn't even cross his mind.
As he prepares to board the enemy ship, Ragna's lips curl up in a smirk. It's not a nice one.]
Speaking of which... I don't think we'll need any prisoners either, eh?
[Leaving any really isn't in his nature.]
no subject
Allowing any of them to live will be nothing but a detriment to us.
[There was no chance Mitsunari was going to sit idly by as everyone else did the fighting. It was a conqueror who raised him.]
no subject
No prisoners, sink them if you can, but there's no need to slaughter them out of hand. We're pirates, aye, but aside from that we don't know what their quarrel with us is. We fight to drive them off, not destroy. Be mindful of that. Captain's orders.
no subject
Their quarrel does not matter.
[Then, he briefly deliberates over whether or not he wants to contest Motochika's orders.
He decides not to.]
If they return to avenge their dead, know it was preventable.
no subject
Of course, Kodachi.
[A barely visible cocoon of magic spreads across the ship, encompassing it, before Xun Yu gets up to her feet.]
no subject
[Ragna chooses to wave it off. It's not like he ever listens to the captain's orders, anyway. Besides, what's the point of letting people who are actively trying to kill him live? Seems counterproductive.
Either way, they seem to have finally come close enough for him to be able to cover the distance, so talk time is over.]
Well, you can leave this one to me.
[The Grim Reaper doesn't waste his time saying more than that and leaps on the deck of the enemy ship, leaving the other crew momentary stunned (that was what they intended to do, after all) before they all rush at him. A short moment later the air fills with their agonized screams.
So much for that "no slaughter" thing.]
no subject
[When she was done, she stole the ship's rowboat and blew that up as well before leaping to the next nearby ship to do the same.]
no subject
[There isn't a single man aboard the ship who heeds him the majority of the time. It makes him miss Kodai and Adol a bit. They listened.
He turns to survey the rest of the ship. Aside from Xun Yu, the only back-up he can count on if they're boarded is Yo-chan. Ohtani is around somewhere, as far as he knows, but he can't imagine him lifting a finger unless Mitsunari is in danger.]
We'll just have to stay vigilant and keep them at bay.
no subject
The only downside of all this is that now he's covered in blood. Damn. He's gonna need a bath after this is over.]
Guess they're nothing but a bunch of show-offs after all.
