The Morning After - High Time To Set Up!

Ellen was frustrated. First day here and any hopes of getting answers were dashed to bits by someone's big mouth. Honestly, she expected something like that from Hibiki. Or Hummy. Or any of the pink-type Pretty Cure she knew. Except for Erika. She was the odd one out of the bunch.

Anyway, while trying to put that out of her mind, Ellen made her way over to the fountain where everyone first arrived at. There was a little bit of a panic as she remembered the ghost that told them of their adventure before stopping and getting the memory out of her head. There'd be none of that! As she did, she spotted something on the boulder the stone mermaid was perched on. Moving closer, she spotted the poem etched on there.

"Behold this ruby,
Centuries old.
Its power is great,
True depths untold.
What once was whole,
Now in parts 'tis shattered.
Having it all,
Aye, that's what matters.
Rebuild the gem
And whatever ye wish will be.
Whether wealth, good fortune,
Mayhap the chance to flee.
Strangers listen:
Take heed, take care.
Or be lost forever
To Davy Jones' lair."

Ellen blinked as she read it all. It's a poem. "A ruby? And shattered? Could... that be what we're looking for? A shattered gem?" Curiouser and curiouser...

Next thing needed was equipment, right? Can't just go around in normal clothing. Gotta look the part. However, at the moment, it looked like Ellen was busy sticking her nose in a book, looking something over before pulling back, a little confused.

"...all of that? But, it looks so ridiculously heavy! But, it's what they all wear, right? Well, then, I'll do it!" And thus, you're probably going to notice her bouncing from store to store, looking for what she thinks is acceptable boat traveling wear. Though, she can't make up her mind if she's going for the feminine look or for the out and out evil pirate look.

Clothes and supplies? Check. Now? A boat! Maybe while she's at it, Ellen could find a crew, but right now, she needs a boat! As she walks around the piers, you'll probably notice her awkwardly walking around. Then, you'll probably notice the eyepatch over one of her eyes. Somehow, she's gotten it into her head that she needs to wear one and thus is doing so.

And she's running into things like a blind fool.

"Ow... this is nuts. I can't see a thing with this on! But, real ones wear them, right? Gotta look the part. Gotta--~" Whap. Pole. "...ow..."

[When the girl sits, she can't help but notice her composure. She's not in trouble! Well. Maybe she is fashion-wise, but still.]

There's no need to be scared. I don't bite. [Which is actually a lie.] Now let's see what's in these bags of yours.

[hearts_beat]

[Oh, she's always like that. No need to worry about her!] Sure... here ya go!

[And she hands over the bags she has. Inside is such a mishmash of outfits - some befitting a captain, some a simple maiden, others? Just any which way. It looks like she was thinking of taking charge, then wondering if she should stay put, then just went to town.]

[It looks like a costume store to Porrim. She makes a face with each bag she opens, but she's doing her best to mentally piece an outfit together bit by bit. It's proving difficult.]

What exactly are you going for? Did your crew put you up to this?

[hearts_beat]

No, I did. I don't even have a crew of my own.

[fems]

[She was sure by now that people were beginning to form their own crews. Then again, they'd only just arrived.]

Are you planning to sail alone?

[hearts_beat]

Well, if I couldn't find anyone, I was. I've handled things alone a few times...

[Which wasn't entirely true, but the tone of her voice is suggesting "no, I don't want to do this alone."]

Handling things alone is much different than sailing in uncharted waters in an unknown world. It's too dangerous. You don't know anyone else here?

[Had Porrim really lucked out in finding Meenah and Aranea?]

I ran into one person earlier, but... she's not from my time... or, well... it's a timeline thing. I know her, but she doesn't know me.

[fems]

[Porrim's very much familiar with the timeline business. She places a hand the girl's hand with reassurance.]

Say no more. Timeline differences are a pain in the ass. Listen, my crew's small. Would you like to join us?

You wouldn't mind? Really? Oh, well... sure! I'd be happy to! My name's Ellen. Ellen Kurokawa!

[There's relief in knowing there's one less person on their own.]

I'm Porrim Maryam. Just Porrim is fine.

[hearts_beat]

Porrim... alright, then! You're the captain, right? Should I call you that, then?

[fems]

[WELL...]

Me? Nooooooo, I'd make a terrible captain. The captain of our crew is actually Meenah. I'll introduce you to her. She's not one to turn down help.

[Plus Porrim will make Meenah accept Ellen if she has to.]

Alright, then! Now, ah... [she looks down at the bags of clothes.] What do I do with all of this?

Fortunately, we can piece something decent together with a few things. The others... I would suggest holding onto them. Maybe use them when bartering on a strange island.
